xShodaimex
Hey guys, I was wondering if there are any aftermarket lines that could be used on the l28et for the oil coolers. I have tried searching online and have not found much. I dont know much w/ fitting sizes and such. If any of you guys have used a certain line "stainless steel prefered" please let me know. I am trying to install this on my 260z turbo swap. Thanks!
BluDestiny
There is actually a place in my town that custom makes braided lines. You bring in the rubber line, they give you one that's braided. You should invest in a flaring tool so you can convert all your hardlines to accept AN fittings. Helped my friend do it on his CRX. I know that isn't the answer you probably want since you are in a huge learning phase now with the swap going on and this is just more info you need, but that's probably the best way to go. LanceVance
Are you keeping the banjo hard lines? If not, you can use a M18x1.5 to -10 AN adapter and order custom lines. There's a place close to me that will make custom hoses, weld fittings, and make hard lines for really reasonable prices. If you can find a place like that locally that would be your best bet. Most internet only custom hose shops are $$$...
madkaw
Find a truck repair shop that makes hydraulic lines and take your old ones in there and tell them to duplicate them-it cost me 90$!
slownrusty
You can make your own lines, just buy the Earls hoses and fittings (follow the instructions on how to insert the fittings in the hoses, or better yet buy the Push Loc fittings and voila easy). I have been doing this for years and years.
xShodaimex
slownrusty.. that doesnt sound to bad of an idea. ill look into that. yeah the shops around here arent all that. I only know of a few "good" shops. while most shops here that i know of are unreasonable and unprofessional. Bludestiny.. yeah the learning phase is very frustrating and stressful, I guess tahts why its called the learning phase lol. btw did you ever get that key I sent you? xShodaimex
oh yeah I do consider keeping the banjo hardline. I just wanted a longer line to the oil cooler. I wanted to mount the oil cooler elsewhere from the passenger side. But hey Im off to a good start. Im looking at earls plumbing stuff and yeah Might just customize or ATTEMPT to customize my own line. anyone here have any idea what the size is on the banjo hardline end where the stock oil cooler line connects to it? jonzzer
Shodaimex I think im in the same boat as you. I just bought the oil cooler with the stock lines but it doesn't fit anywhere with them on my 280z. So im gonna keep the banjo line withe the weird square and just Make my own line off of it, seems the easiest way. Guessing since the fittings are M18x1.5 that itd be that but no idea what it is in AN.

M18x1.5 to -10 AN adapters. -10 AN is 9/16" inner diameter which could have easily been found by looking at the Summit/JEGS catalog or website. LanceVance
Geez, I posted which adapter to use in the 3rd post... So much talk, and still nobody selling me those useless banjo lines!
jonzzer
I got a quick question, If I bought a -10AN banjo fitting and used the the bolt from the M18x1.5 banjo fitting would it work or would the sizes be to different. Debating on just making new hoses, Or could i cut the stock banjo lines and splice it to a new hose somehow??

I'm pretty sure the banjos are steel.
LanceVance
I've got some original banjo fittings with -10 fittings welded on. They wont work for me, but they might for you. I'll post up some pictures once I'm out of work to show exactly what I mean...

I've got these, but I don't like how you have to angle the lines (see below) to use them. They are for sale too if anyone wants them...
