Meph
Hey guys Id like to order a coil over kit for my Z, but Im not too sure what version I need. I have a 260Z whats gone under the knife and gone though an identity crisis, so Im not sure what year exactly, I believe 74. I know that the rear strut towers are lower than a 280z's, because I tried to use 280 interior pieces there and there was a a substantial gap. What measurements will tell me if I need to order the 240 or 280 kit? Thanks a lot p.s Ive searched for 2 days, want to order this kit sooner than later so I had to ask. From what I've gathered is that the biggest difference between the 240 and 280 strut tube is the diameter of the tube itself. I know that the 240z strut tube is 2" in diameter, so I would suggest measuring the diameter of the tubes to find out.
Meph
i check the struts and they are something like 2.005" doing the math back from a cercomfrence of 160mm. Is the 280z strut significantly differnt?
rturbo 930
As far as I know, the early 260Z uses 240Z suspension, and the late 260Z uses 280Z suspension. Order accordingly. Based on your description of the fit of the 280Z interior parts, I'm guessing you have an early 260Z. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. JMortensen
2" strut would be 240.
