  1. Hit me up if you've got one. Shipping will be to 73159 and my number is 918-348-2921. Thank you!
  2. Looks good to me. With a little cosmetic work and if you get rid of that godawful muffler, it'll look pretty sweet. There's an art to single-chambered mufflers, and that one doesn't quite cut it.
  3. It's a side mount. I test fitted it today and I believe I can fab up mounts out of some 3/16" steel. I'll post pics when it's done.
  4. Just curious.... were the 240z's the only ones with forged internals or did the L28's come with forged internals as well?
  5. GlowShift makes sweet gauges. I'm running a Boost/Vacuum gauge and a wideband AFR gauge right now and am very happy. Planning on switching to all GlowShifts in the future.
  6. Hm I'm starting to get it. I'd like to see someones setup in person, but I doubt that will happen.
  7. If it eliminates the entire ECU, what happens to the lower wiring harness? The one that operates the headlights, interior gauges, turn signals, etc. In all the diagrams and writeups I've read I haven't seen anything regarding them.
  8. I gotcha. So does MS work WITH the stock ECU or does it completely eliminate the stock ECU?
  9. I know MegaSquirt is a topic that's beaten to death, but I've read all the sticky's multiple times, searched, and there's a couple more questions I've got before I dig into it myself. First, I just wanted to fully grasp just exactly HOW MegaSquirt works. If I know how it works, it'll be easier to put together because I'll know WHY I'm putting it together. And after all the reading and studying, I can't quite grasp how the Spark aspect of MSnS works. Being driven by a mechanical distributor, how does the MS board control the spark? It seems that unless the L28ET is running with coil packs or EDIS, there's no way to control the spark. Perhaps I'm just overlooking it, but I can't seem to see it. Second, pretty much all the writeups I've seen are for '83 L28ET's. I'm running an '81 motor, which has the different CAS and distributor. Should that make a difference in how I wire the board? Thanks for taking the time guys. I just want to understand it fully before I build.
  10. Been looking. Haven't found anything yet. Maybe I'm searching for the wrong keywords.... lol I have no idea.
  11. So I have a guy who will sell me an L28ET out of an '81. Includes the auto tranny. However, I want to keep my '78 5 speed transmission. My question is, will the automatic ECU work with my NA 5 speed tranny? I haven't been able to find any info on it.
  12. Just picked up a used Sparco Evo for $40. Too good to pass up, so I plan on putting it in my '78. It looks like there's a few people running Sparcos, but I'm not seeing a lot of Evo's. It's looking to me like the fitment is going to be REALLY tight, especially considering the door clearance. I'll be making custom brackets too, but it should be interesting. It's being reupholstered right now, but I just wondered if anyone had any suggestions or tips before I start putting it in.
  13. There's a pretty big drift scene where I'm from. At an event I was at a few weeks ago a good 80% of the guys sliding were in S13's and S14's, and a couple of the best drivers out there were rolling with NA KA's. Drifting is mostly about the suspension. A powerful high-revving engine helps, but most people are under the impression that you need a good 300+ hp to be a good drifter, which is a popular misconception. A good set of coilovers and either a welded diff/lsd are the best things you can get.
  14. My '78 is my college car. I drive it to school every day, as well as to the track.
  15. So I've been considering doing an S13 dash swap into my S30. I found a couple people who've done it, but for some reason it seems like no one posts pictures of the finished product. If anyone has any pictures, could they please post them so I could see them? Thanks!
  16. hi bro

i need your help i am looking for aftermarket gauges for my 1976 280z ,did you install any aftermarket gauges ??

    thanks

  17. Just wanted to bring this up. I've been trying to do the whole fiberglassing thing with a gauge pod on my S30, and its looking to be pretty impossible to mold a double or triple gauge pod into the trim of a 70-78 and make it look right. The pods are just too big for the trim. I'm ending up having to overlap the trim like the pictures posted earlier.
  18. Not knowing a whole lot about the stock gauges in the '78 280z's, I'm currently wondering what it would involve to put an aftermarket tach in my z. My stock gauge is sticking at around 3k rpms, and it gets annoying. I'm looking at either a GlowShift or AutoMeter pedestal tach, and both are electrical. Is the stock tachometer electrical or mechanical? Either way, has anyone done this swap? The only aftermarket gauges I've seen in S30s are Auto Meters, and I haven't seen any writeups on installs. Thank you!
  19. Keyword here being "junk" 240z, I'd strip the car down and make sure that it's not big a piece of "junk" to drop an RB in. There's more to it than welding in some roll bars. What condition is the 240z in? It all depends on how you describe junk. After that, you've only got the swap to worry about.
  20. I saw it on eBay too. They wanted $99,000 for it if I remember correctly. It was in Florida, as well. Looks pretty retarded, in my honest opinion.
  21. Need the fuel pump control relay switch for my '78. Tried ordering them from the parts stores, but they all send me the wrong one. It's the biggest relay underneath the black box that the fusible links bolt to in the engine bay. I looked it up in the FSM and I'm pretty sure the biggest one is the FP control relay. I know it's the big one that's shorting out. I have a car show on the 26th so I'm really needing one before then! Thank you!
