  1. Basically, you'll have to either source another r200 with 3.90 gearing or change your existing pinion set to the 3.90 set.
  2. Big wrench strong arms and a prayer that your hand doesn't hit the ground when it finally gets loose man.
  3. Last time I was replacing bearings I think I rented a pair of king size titanium alloys to get that retaining nut loose. I suggest you do the same. Not really a trick to it.
  4. Don't get down man, I actually was following everything that was about the build itself. The dramatics were all overlooked. And since I'm swapping an RB20DET into my s130 and you're from OZ, I was inclined to listen.
  5. Damn that's hot. Makes me just want to leave Maryland and head back to Texas so I can finish my swap. Thanks for reminding me what I have to look forward to when mine is finally done.
  6. Ok so I'm bored again and still away from a proper P.C.. I'm not doing big mods on the motor itself. I'm running a Nismo adjustable for, which you have to stick a screwdriver inside the fuel feed side and straighten it out to fit correctly, and Walbro 255 pump. Word of advice though if you've searched like I did you might've seen a thread on the oil return sitting on the driveshaft in the S130, Wangan's solution is probably the best at this point. Do not, I repeat, do not try to buy a oil return kit and fit it up, it will not work and you'll get even less clearance if you try to drop the motor in with it installed. I know you guys are hurting for pics, here's what I have for now until I get back to Texas.
  7. Wish you weren't, you and Pat and some others are the inspiration that made me wanna swap.
  8. Ok I was going to wait until I got back home to take more pics and get it all done, but being 1500 miles away from home in a motel room gives me time to kill. I'm in the process of putting a RB20DET into an 83 280zx. First off the manual trans mount for the 280zx does work and will put the transmission in the right spot. Next as most of you probably already know is that the oil return from the turbo WILL rest on the steering column and will have to have some solution fabricated to correct its placement. I can't post pics from my phone but in time they'll come and I'll add more to my build thread.
  9. Ok, I was under the assumption that the 280zx FS5W71B 5 speed slave cylinder wouldn't have any problem as is when bolted onto the RB20 FS5W71C 5 speed. I'm trying to get everything together before I get home and start swapping out my L28E to RB20DET.
  10. I know that this isn't on the level that the rest of this thread is on, but will the slave cylinder from a FS5W71B work on the FS5W71C? I figured Tony could answer my lowly question. Oh yeah I'd check FAST but I'm 1500 miles away from my comp in Dallas. Been in Maryland for 2 weeks and not going home until the Thursday before Thanksgiving.
  11. Had a 46in Sony Bravia in my coupe. Interesting drive home too.
  12. Gauges look great, but back to this whole explaining it to the wife thing. Can I get a write up on that? The easy part is putting everything together; convincing her is the hard part.
