  8. I just pulled the R200 LSD out of two Q45's and will go back and do more measuring on the sub frame. I plan on removing 4" to 5" out of the subframe and using it in my 240. The fabrication does not look that hard and you gain the 5 lug and disc brakes with the only other expense being shortening the two shafts. What other problems does anone foresee in doing this? I have alot of welding and fabrication experience.

  11. Thanks, I would not have thought about bringing a socket that big. Mission accomplished no busted knuckles.I went ahead and bought a 3/4" drive metric socket set. I'm going back in the morning to get another one.

  14. The car is at a pick-a-part with no torches allowed. Just thought someone out there could save me a little time and hassle.
  15. A found a Q45 and will go to pull the differential. Are all Q45 rearends the same? It has the aluminum rear cover that slopes out at the bottom with the big 6 bolt flanges. What is the minimum amount of tools needed to pull it and does anyone have any tips?
  16. The Dart and Edelbrock heads are close in price to the Patriot and much less than AFR's. It would be great if all could be dyno'd on the same streetable LS1. I would find it hard to believe that there would be that much difference between them. What is it a my 5 axis cnc is better than yours deal. I can see where a new performance casting(Dart/Edelbrock) may have some advantage but alot of people use the 5.3 casting like you can get from Patriot.   17. I have priced having some 5.3 heads ported (with larger valves and springs) and priced new ones. I have seen dyno #s from budget heads and high dollar ones. I would have to see some justification for spending more. Do people that spend on the high end for heads have more tune work than some one on the low end? Would the 5.3 stage 2 patriot heads fall into the less is more theory for LS1 heads and if not why? There are forums to support almost any opinion.   20. I would take a shirt and a decal if you will just tell me how to pay for it. What size shirts are available?
  21. I am now worried about my 240Z that will get an Ls1 and big back tires. My body has rear fiberglass panels bonded to it (kaminari body kit). What is the minimum that can be done to to reduce body twist or will the rear quarter panels see that much twist. I don't really want a roll bar or a cage on a street car, but also do not want to crack my fiberglass to metal bonding.
  22. How much are those Compomotive wheels worth? Does anyone have any knowledge of them?
  23. I am still worn out from the 23.5 hour trip it took me to get to Nacogdoches last week during the evacuation plus all the packing and unpacking but would drive up soon on a weekend if some one would have their LS1 Z available.
