  1. I had the same no spark issue when i did my turbo install. what i found was that there are 2 yellow or yellow and white wires in the harness that goes to the ignighter and I had used the wrong one. This was on a 83 harness and ecu.good luck.
  2. Thanks for the imput.I'm looking at building a 2+2 to use as a daily driver and something to toolaround in with my wife and 6 yr old.My 260 with the turbo will not hold us all . I was looking at using a n/a motor and maybe putting in a stroker later.But as we all know gas is getting bad and I was hoping that using megasquirt would be more pecise and as mentioned leaner at highway speeds.Yea, sort of a project but with good odds of sucess.So wow me and tell me what you think.
  3. Has anyone used a megasquirt in a n/a motor and tuned it for gas mileage?. What kind of mileage could you get city/ highway? Don't want to loose any power just use better tech to be efficient.
  4. Yes it can be done. The swap went smoothly and the cam can be turned with 2 fingers.I moved the towers from a 79 head to a p90.
  5. Can you swap the cam towers from one head to another? p79 towers to p90.I have some scoreing on the top of the center tower bore.How much is too much.I know they will bolt on but what about the bore alignment.I dont want to toss a head because of scoreing in one tower, what would you advise.
  6. Can't you just use the original setup from the factory and have a hose shop put longer hoses on the factory hardwear?

  8. Can I put a n/a cam in my turbo? I have all the stock specs but cant tell if it will hurt or help.wiyh the timing so far advanced in a turbo i do not know what to expect if i use a cam with the valves opening and closeing at different intervals than the turbo cam.Has anyone tried it or have opinions on bennifits or detrements from this change?
  9. I built a motor with the ring gap like yours and it ran strong but smoked on high speed deceleration.More embarassing than anything else.I wish I hadn't done it.Finally just put in a turbo motor.

  11. i plan to use the n54 block , just looking for info about what to expect and if i gain anything to compensate for the lost displacement.i know how to capitalize just too lazy to do it sence i type with one hand.

I Have 2 Cylinders With Low Compression And Need A Rebuild.can 240block Be Bored To Fit 280turbo Pistons?with The 240stroke And 280 Pistons That Should Give Me A 260 Motor.except With Short Stroke And Big Bore Rather Than The 240 Bore And 280stroke That Came From The Factory. I Realize I Would Give Up Displacement And The Tourqe Of The Longer Stoke But Gain The Quick Revs Of A 240.if I Then Put My Turbo Head , Turbo And Ecu From The Stock 280t Motor ,i Would Have A Quick Reving 260 Turbo.is There Any Reason This Would Not Work?.if I Could Should I?. What Kind Of Power And Power Characteristics Would A Motor Like This Have? The 240 And The Off Boost 280 Both Have Poor Low End So Whats To Loose?.whould The Short Stroke Quick Reving Motor Work Well With The Turbo Setup? Tell Me What You Think.if The Short Stoke Would Compensate For The Loss Of Displacement It Would Be Cool To Have A 260 In My 260, Just Different Than The Factory Way.wow Me With Your Wisdom.
  16. i'm not putting in an aftermarket cam. i want to use a higher lift stock cam fom a 280 n/a motor. the n42 is lumpier.my main concern is that i am lead to beleave that the turbo cam has a different ramp angle due to the hydralic lifters.no caps.
  17. How Many Of You Are Running An Oil Cooler. I Have Synthetic Oil In It;but Was Thinking Of A Cooler, One Off A 280zx Turbo.is It Needed Or Just A Potential Oil Leak?
  18. If The Cams Good Just Get A Spray Bar From A 240 Or A 260. The 260 Cam In The E88 Head Has The Longest Duration Of The Stock Cams. Good On Carburated Engines.
  19. IF I PUT A N/A CAM IN A P90A HEAD W/ HYDRALIC LIFTERS WILL I HAVE ANY ISSUES? I HAVE HEARD THAT THE RAMP ANGLE OF THE HYDRALIC CAM IS DEFFERENT THAN THE SOLID LIFTER CAM. ARE THERE ANY DIFFERANCES IN THE ROCKER ARMS?
  20. Initally I Had The Same Problem When I Did My Swap. I Had Used The Wrong Yellow Wire From The Same Section Of Harness. I Rechecked The Diagrams And Had To Change It . Fired Up Right Away.

  22. You Need To Go 3 Inches Instead Of 2.5 . You Can Get By With 2.5 But With The Mods To Get 350 Hp Go 3 Inches.
  23. When You Order One They Tell You You Have To Get New Rocker Arms Because The Uneven Wear Will Accelerate The Wear On The New Cam.how Long Did You Ren A Cam On Old Rockers Before You Changed It? Were They Noisier?
  24. I Have An 83 Turbo Motor In An Early 260.it Has The P90a Hyraulic Lifters. I Have No Budget But Lots Of Stock Parts. The Turbo Cams Have Less Lift Than The Na Cams. The 83 Cam Being The Smallist. Any Forseeable Problems Putting An Na Cam In A Solid Lifter P90 Head To Put In My Turbo?turbo Do Not Lke Overlap I Do Not Know If The Na Cam Has Any.also Can Stock Rocker Arms Be Resurfaced Or Do You Have To Use New Ones On A New Cam? Wow Me With Your Wisdom.
  25. I Got All 6 Injectors With The Fuel Rail For A 300 Turbo.they Are Identical Looking To The 280 Turbo Ones In The Car. Same Brown Color And The Pigtail Connecter Is At 45 To The Body, Just Like The Stock Ones. However; They Do Not Work. I Tryed All 6 With The Car Running On 5 Cylinders.no Ticking. I Put My Old Leaky One Back On And It Ticks.i Guess The Resistance Is Wrong. Back To The Junk Yard.how Much Is A New One?
