  1. I realize that I am resurrecting an old thread and that it has probably already been answered....However, I am also trying to find an answer to this question. I'm not finished searching yet, but if anyone knows what needs to be done to do this please let me know.
  2. If my car is ready I'll be there. I may go with some friends anyway.
  3. I'll take a set. Do I need 6 or four? I have a 300ZX LSD that came with the car. I assume that means I need six from the original writeup. PM me with your paypal info or preferred payment method. Thanks, Zack
  4. Never mind. That's an M18 nut and the spindle is an M20.
  5. Sweet! That was the part number I found on Dorman's website. Thanks alot. Zack
  6. The application says '260-280'. Is it the same size on the 240?
  7. I am looking for the M20 nuts that go on the end of the front spindle. Anyone know where I can get these? I found this thread, but couldn't get the M20 nut at any local store and I'm not sure where to look online. Even tried courtesy parts, but I don't know the OEM P/N. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/64107-spindle-nuts/page__p__598093__hl__front%20spindle%20nut__fromsearch__1&&do=findComment&comment=598093 Thanks for the help.
  8. You might want to replace your diff mount to get rid of that clunk. I had one go out on my '70 during a launch at an autox. The result was both embarrassing and damaging. It was doing exactly what yours was doing. The part is cheap and the labor is pretty straight forward. By the way, I have an '07 S2000. I'm currently trying to sell it, though. Need to make room for the '73 L28ET. I have the Walbro pump, but it was screaming so I put a carter pump outside of the tank and relocated the walbro to the firewall. When I first turned it on I thought the Walbro wasn't working b/c it was so quiet. Unfortunately during my test drive my car completely died and has no spark. I am currently troubleshooting that. The PO wasn't the best at wiring.
  9. There should also be a law that requires all short people to be able to balance plates on their heads so tall people can put their beers there at a party.
  10. I'm surprised no one else has responded to this. I guess I'll say keep the updates coming. At least some of us are following it.
  11. No matter what you are going to have maintenance/reliabilty issues with a 25-40 year old car. I was in the same position as you a few years ago and bought an 83ZXT. Long story short, I wish I didn't. If you are going to have to depend on this car and don't have the money to fix the occasional $200-$500 problem, then an old Z car is not for you.
  12. Looks to me like 7 wanting it have replied by way of post. Hopefully there have been at least 3 other PMs...Maybe.
  13. Sign me up for this. Just let me know when and how to pay. Zack
  14. Hey guys, I have an L28 block with an E31 head and Schneider stage 3 cam (per the PO). I am currently in the process of rebuilding the short block. Here's some background info. I'm not sure what the thickness of the head is, but the combustion chamber side has been shaved at least twice. As I understand it the compression ratio is going to be relatively high (10:1 or 11:1). The block needs new pistons and a rebore. The main goal is to get the car running solidly. The machine shop gave me a quote for the parts $435 (pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets, and oil pump). I'm not sure where he is getting these parts, but he says they should be solid. Before I have him install anything I thought I should ask the experts. What should I use with the parts I have (E31/L28) to build a solid engine? Also, what else should I be looking at before I put it back together (i.e. valve clearances, etc)? Thanks in advance. Zack
  15. Thanks for the info. I think that's the way I'm leaning.
  16. I am debating buying the CD-ROM from courtesyparts.com, but I think I would rather have the physical books (engine and chassis). If anyone has one or both for sale or if anyone knows where one or both are for sale let me know. I'd prefer to get the manuals for less than the CD-ROM. I don't really know if that's unrealistic or not. If it is, I'll just go the CD route. Thanks, Zack M
  17. I had the exact same thing happen to my computer recently. I ended up getting a new CPU/Fan and it fixed the problem. Just make sure that the CPU you are getting will work with your mobo. I believe the Sempron processors are a little touchy about which mobos they like to work with, so you'd probably be better off with another Athlon. Just install the new hardware and boot it up and see what happens. Since the important info is on the secondary drive, it shouldn't matter if you have any trouble and have to reformat your primary. Try that first, if it doesn't work then you can worry about the new computer.
  18. Bartman's wheels = Nice Fastzcar's wheels = Not-so-nice I think the thing I don't like about fastzcar's wheels is the chrome. I'm not too hot for the pattern, but it would look better if it weren't chrome.
