  1. I've got coil overs with 17"X9.5" wheels front and back and rolled fenders with no flares. I have the AZC suspension, so I can adjust it a bit to fit under there, but it does fit with 255s. I've done a few autocrosses and haven't had any rubbing issues yet.
  2. If you need a shaft made, go to an off road shop. They do that stuff all the time for off road vehicles.
  3. I have a CLSD R200 out of a 300ZX with the Q45 outer hubs from Dave. I had Dave send me the Q45 half shafts with the track pack and then I had a custom shaft made at a drive shaft shop to accept the Q45 CV on one side and the 300ZX on the other. My measurements were 17 3/8" on the passenger side and 17" on the driver side. I haven't had any issues out of them yet and I've put a few autocrosses, a track day, and 1000 road miles on them. It's a bit annoying that I'll need two different CVs when I need to replace them, but that's what you get when you modify the crap out of your car. Zack
  4. Congrats Matt. Always nice to taste the fruit of your labor. I'm planning to do the Road Atlanta enduro in June in an STR3 prepared late model. We tested at an SCCA event at TGPR this weekend and the car was pretty fast, but we have some oiling issues that are going to keep us away from the NASA event at NOLA the first weekend in May. I'll try to look you up at RA and say hey. Zack
  5. Here's a pretty good article from Grassroots Motorsports. They compare the OS Giken and the Kaaz units. http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/articles/whats-the-diff/
  6. Very nice! I'm guessing he thought that he just halucinated a Z running 1.36s at RA.
  7. Yes, you lose the reading when you are in a tunnel. Just like your satellite radio. But I don't see how that matters. If I drive into a .25 mile tunnel, I know how fast I was going going in and just keep going about the same speed. If you were driving through an extremely long tunnel, it might be an issue. You can also wire the speedo into a constant hot input and it will take very little time to find the satellites. Usually mine takes about 30 seconds after I start the car. I have the speedo and like it pretty well. Don't have to worry about the oversize tires, final gear, and no leaky speedo cable coming up from the tranny.
  8. Looking for a set of wheels to use for a chumpcar race. These are going to be mounted on an early 300ZX. We are doing a race at Road Atlanta on 2/9. So I will need them on or before 2/7. They don't have to be perfect. The cheaper the better. Please PM me or send a text to 4too3-6oh5-nine2seventwo Zack
  9. I saw the vinyl at AMP. Thought it was pretty sweet. Also loved the videos. Can't wait to see you out there next season.
  10. Haven't tried it, but maybe this will work... http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/110185-adding-picturesimages-to-a-thread/
  11. It should be a pretty standard design that can be customized based on the type of flanges you want for the wastegate and turbo.
  12. Sweet. I should be there with my Z barring some setback.
  13. I'm talking to Senza Pari on this site to have a turbo exhaust header fabbed. He needs a turbo header for measurements, so I would like to find a cheap one to ship to him. Reference this thread. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/101103-custom-intakeexhaust-manifolds-for-nissan-engines/page__hl__%2Bsenza+%2Bpari__st__50
  14. The down pipe is not V-Band and neither is the dump tube. I wasn't too happy with the down pipe because it brought the exhaust out too low. If someone buys the housing and dump tube, I would give them the down pipe, but I wasn't happy with it. My new housing is a V-band (so is the dump tube). I had a shop install a new wastegate on the exhaust manifold and fab up a new down pipe that tucks the exhaust under the trans tunnel very nicely. Now almost nothing scrapes under the car under normal driving conditions (like pulling out of my driveway).
  15. All you should need to wrap it is the correct size bar slide. See link. I cannot understand why you would want to bolt it in when you already have a harness bar. http://www.schrothracing.com/store/Competition/hardware/bar-slides
  16. Well, I just blew a GT3582R and installed a new GTX3071R. If you look at the compressor and turbine maps the GTX3071R looks like a much better fit. I can't say too much from personal experience because I have barely driven the car with the new turbo and the old one had a warped shaft, but from the data I've gotten the GTX3071R with a 1.06AR turbine housing is spooling up a little later than the GT3582R with a .82AR turbine housing. From the seat of the pants feel the GT3582R felt faster, but I don't really have much hard data to do on and I am working through another unrelated issue that could be affecting the performance. I am using a different wastegate, but the upper manifold pressure is about the same at full boost. On another note, if you end up going the GT3582R route, I have the turbine housing with a wastegate that was installed when I bought the car. The housing was cut to install the wastegate (it is a Tial wastegate). I also have the down pipe. PM me if you are interested. I'm planning to post it up here in the for sale section today or tomorrow.
  17. So how did it compare to the World Challenge 'Vette?
  18. Matt, I didn't realize you were a member there. That being said, I know the guys running the event and they might want be open to having someone who knows the track available for instruction. If you are at all interested in that let me know and I'll run it by them. If I lived a little closer, I could probably justify a membership too. I'm going 'just for fun'. At the moment I don't have any plans for competition in the Z.
  19. Matt, I'm looking at doing some events at AMP with these guys (link below). I've run with them before and it's usually a pretty good time. Let me know if you are planning on going to any of their events and I'll try to get there to check out your awesome ride. http://tracksunlimited.net/
  20. Are you running Acceleration Enrichment? If so noise in your map/tps could cause erratic pulse widths.
  21. John, that is the exact video I thought of when I read the first post. What a great driver!
  22. Also arm tethers would have been good.
  23. I have a connector from the 15-pin output on my megasquirt that operates two pairs of coils and the power to the injectors. The car is basically impossible to start without the connector. Even if they steal it, they would probably have to start all over. Plus, I have a quick connect steering wheel. Plus I park the car in the garage most of the time.
