  1. Does anyone have a pic or specs for the pick up in a RB26DETT swap?
  2. I plan on getting an RB26DETT. Do you only need to lenghten the RB20's pick up? Or is a complete custom piece required?
  3. Well he was clueless, it ended up being a RB25DET. The asking price was $3,200, which was why I started this thread. He said they would be repricing that one down. And he'll see if he can get me a RB26DETT with a GTS 5 speed RWD Tranny. Does any one out there know of anyone selling a "Swap" Pkg (RB26 w/GTS Trans)?
  4. Don't you need to back half the car, to install the Ford 9"? That's a bit more fabrication than I'm looking to do to my car. My reasoning for keeping the power below 400Hp, is so that I can keep my chassis modifications to a minimum. Strut Bars, Half Cage, and beefeir sub-frame under the floor boards to tie it together.
  5. Would the R200 LSD with 3.7:1 out of an 87-89 300ZX work well on a street driven RB26? My planned build will produce between 350-400 Hp, to start. I think that this number would be resonable with Intake, Boost Control, Flashed ECU, Cams, and Exhaust modifications.
  6. Couldn't you just take the 300ZXTT driveshaft to the shop, and have them shorten that one to fit into the S30? Or is there some reason why that shaft would not work?
  7. It's a great idea, in theory. But I don't think you could use the AWD tranny from the Skyline. Instead you would need a tranny from say a Porsche AWD, so that you would have the right power distribution. Then you would need to make a new Chassis for the car, and mount the body to that. And the amount of fabrication needed to make that work on a s30 or 31 uni-body is obscene. Then you would need to add ballast to the car for better weight distribution. And on & on & on. Lets make this simpler get a Porsche with AWD. Cut of the body, mount an RB26DETT. And slap a Z shell on that. Viola a rear engine AWD, RB powered Z. Well sort of?
  8. I spoke to the supplier again, and he said he made a mistake on the Trans. It's a 5spd RWD, from an R32 or 33. Once again I thought that the RB26 only came with an AWD tranny. What's up with this?
  9. A JDM importer, local to me, is saying that they can get me a RB26DETT with a 6 speed manual Tranny RWD. I was under the impression that this engine only came with AWD tranny. Are these guys jerking my chain? If not will the 6speed tranny work?
  10. Just a thought on which engine to go with. I've been surfing the net looking to get an idea of what it would cost for all the parts I need, and I've come to a realization. You can get a 25DET & Trans for about $3K, and a RB26DETT engine for $3.5K plus $1.2K for the GTS Trans. That's about $1.7K more than the 25DET. If you get the RB25DET you need to spend about $900 for the Greddy intake and Q45TB right off the bat, and it seems that the HiPo parts available are almost twice the cost of an RB26DETT. It seems to me that the cost difference between the 2, ends up being only a few hundred dollars if you get cams, and such. Am I way off on this?
  11. Hey 240Z Master, nice pics on your RB install. How much power are you going to try to get out of it?
