  2. Perhaps the welded nut was not as cool as the bolt and continued to cool and thereby contract after you inserted the bolt??? Also sounds like a stainless fastener, I've had them do that on a standard (not welded) application. Try using some anti-sieze compound.
  3. Well prob not the worse but we (and you since you are just down the road) have yellowjackets. They build nests in the ground and can swarm out on a moments notice. Their sting continues to hurt several hours/days afterwards. You won't get just one. I usually find them with my lawnmower.
  4. Stony had a thread going on this a while back, might wanna dig it up.
  5. Search for topics created by Big Phil. He's done more for the holset than cummins!
  6. Beautiful engine bay shot. Any info on the car itself? TIA
  7. Plus one! Will look good on an S30. I like this type of wheel design but prefer the ones without the center cap that covers the lug nuts. Guess I like my nuts exposed.......
  8. Yeah, see the cover of GrassRoots Motorsports a couple of issues ago: "Nissan 300ZX-the 90's Supercar is now Affordable" They did an article on the Z32, it's impact, and what to look for in a used sports car. It wasn't long after that I bought mine. Yes, I agree, explaining the different generations is sometimes difficult. I usually just say "Old Z car".
  9. You mean they didn't?????????? I jus bought a 300ZX and it had a V6. Dam, I coulda had a V8! Yeah, get that all the time about my project 260Z. You mean a 240? No, 260. What's that? Oh well, forget it I'm old too!
  10. Correct, remove the snap ring then tap the compressor housing off. It also has one of those little dowell pins to prevent rotation. Good luck!
  11. I am making an assumption that the hy35 has the same dowell as the he351. I'll try to look tonight.
  12. Overkill? Na, overkill would be that engine strapped on a flatbed behind the tractor.
  13. The he351 I have has a very small dowell in the face of the Vband to align the two pcs. This needs to be removed before you attempt to rotate it. Ditto on the PB Blaster.
  14. Made it home fine. Needs tires balanced and front rotors resurfaced. It's 100% bone stock. Not planning major mods, Possibly headers, hi flo cats and a catback. Shocks, springs and possibly urethane bushings. Possibly cold air intake. We are going to fix those wheels! A concern of mine also...... Yeah, we don't miss a thing!! lol
  15. Lol, thanks, it needs a little tlc.
  16. New for me, 93 300ZX NA, 81k on the clock. and Going tonight to pick it up, hope I make it back. Wish me luck, I'm stoked!
  17. Daeron is spot-on! You may also want to examine all the under hood wiring as the Z's engine room temps get pretty hot. All those components, insulation, and connectors etc. being cooked for 30+ years takes it's toll.
  18. My$.02, buy both books. How to rebuild and How to modify. Good info!
  19. Check my gallery, pix there. My rotisserie was a material handling stand that supported some sort of contraption for sorting or packaging something. Boss got it for junk. All I had to do was split it apart and weld on the bearing parts. If you'll pm me you email, I'll send more pix.
  20. I had the same sticker shock with Ross. Haven't bought anything yet. fyi http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=133455
  21. I posted (after searching) looking for this same info in the body kits and paint forum. No one posted up any usefull info so it looks like a picture is the best we are gonna get. Seems the original Scarab had one row of louvers per side. I have found several pictures of original hoods but I like the custom hood in this thread:http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=131871 I think whatever benefit the louvers would have with venting underhood heat, more is better. edit: I pm'ed mikelly about who might have louvered this hood.
  22. That's what I'm doing! See, like this: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=108785 HTH
