  1. Anyone have pictures of trimming the dog leg and fender lip to make a 28" slick fit on a 280z? I know JNJ and Rip run a 28" slick. I'd like to run one, but want to see just how much cutting is necessary. Justin
  2. I've read over on supraforums that you can use a 2JZ flywheel with the R154. Then you can use a 2JZ clutch options. You need to do slight clearancing of the r154 bell housing tho. Justin
  3. These would likely be more streetable with the extra travel tho: http://www.strangeengineering.net/catalog/pdf/124.pdf Justin
  4. http://www.strangeengineering.net/catalog/pdf/127.pdf What do you guys think of these? I won't be street driving much. Seems like a good deal at ~$1800 for the front set with control arm kit. Justin
  5. Does the VQ35 use a MAF? Could you fit it and a filter in the cowl? Justin
  6. Are you running the MAS or MSA flares on your car? Justin
  7. Are those the BMW or TL projectors?
  8. Sorry to bump this old thread. Jon empty out your PM box please Anyway, Any finished pictures showing your fenders after you cut them Jon?
  9. Anyone have a picture of the Betamotorsports example? Its no longer loading. Justin
  10. That is where the lower control arms are going to mount. I need to model up the rear diff and strut mounts so I can finish that part of the design. There will be bracing in this area. Regards, Justin
  11. Well I'd like to run 8.50's and faster some day. The floor pan in my car was pretty messed up so I'm taking the opportunity to replace it. Do the floor like this will give me the option of doing a 25.2 cage in the future if I ever do break 8.50's. I would like to stick with IRS for now. I've seen this S14 run 8.10's at 171 on the R230 diff. Justin
  12. I thought the harmonics of 6 cylinders weren't bad at all. Justin
  13. Here are some update pictures with the complete floor section. Any critiques?
  14. I would think steel would be a better material. I'd like to see pictures of the thrust bearing and how it fails though. I've cryo treated several VW FWD gear sets and they don't seem to hold any more power then the standard gear sets. The gain in strength is negligible IMO.
  15. Mull, What are the main advantages to the S14 front suspension verse the factory suspension? Justin
  16. I haven't had too much luck with cryogenically treating gears. I would definitely look at a beefed up thrust washer. IDK if titanium is your best bet for a thrust washer though. I'd look at different materials if I were you. Justin
  17. Attached is the solidworks files if anyone want to play around with the model. Justin
  18. Yeah, That is very true Warren. Its just how the 3D program renders bent tubing. Justin
  19. Those are to mount the LCA's to. I'm not finished modeling up that part of the cage. I need to take some more measurements and mock some thing up. I'll rough something out tonight to give a general idea of the direction I'm going. Justin
  20. You can lean the main hoop back like I have it. I believe upto 20 degrees. I'll double check tonight in the 25.2 book. Justin
  21. I'm unsure what I'm going to be doing for the door bars. I'm thinking I will do removable door bars until I brake the 8.5 mark. Also, I'm raising the inner LCA pickup points. I need to finish the rear section once I model up the rest of the suspension components. Justin
  22. I'm starting with the basic bars to get certified to 8.5. I'm adding the floor bars in so I can upgrade to 25.2 in the future if I want to. Until then, they will transfer chassis loads as my floorpan will be without SFC's. Just flat bottom 18ga sheet metal under the passenger compartment. I'm keeping the existing transmission tunnel. The rest of the floorboards are gone at this point. Justin
  23. What is involved in making the conversion to a removable steering wheel? I'd like to do this on my 280z that is getting a extensive roll cage. Justin
