  1. That would be great if you could take some pictures. I think others are also interested in how to make the room for large tires like you've done. So maybe with my raised strut towers of the 280z (2" according to Jon) and weld in camber plates which should give me 1.5" more clearance, I could have enough room for a 10" spring at 225-250lb/in. My main concern with running a 275lb 8" spring is ride harshness. Justin
  2. Thats good to know since I have a 280z. So it seams that Clifton and pparaska both have 240z with 8" springs and tires all the way to the strut tube. I'll have to measure and see if I can run 10" springs in back with weld in camber plates and still clear the tire. Justin
  3. Anyone thought about raising the strut towers in the rear? Since I'm going to run a weld in camber plate front and rear, I thought I could box in the top of the strut towers and raise the camber plates 2 inches. This would allow me to run 10" coilover springs fully above the rear tire, giving me clearance for a 275/40-17 tire. This would allow for lower springs rates then normally used on 8" coilover springs. I would likely tie together both strut towers with a weld in bar to add stability to the extended strut tower. Anyway thoughts? Justin
  4. Sorry to hear about the trouble. I think your cage looks very good from the picture and how you described it. Was the welding pulling to much current for your wiring in the garage? Or did the welder itself fail internally? Justin

  6. Other project is a 1991 Audi 200tq. I really haven't done much with this car in the last year. I'm pretty poor being a full time student with out a job as of late. It will get finished when I have the $$$. My daily commuter is a Giant TCR. Justin
  7. Great MPH, do you think you can get the 60ft down a lot with the current setup?
  8. Would weld in camber plates help lower the front down? Justin

  10. You should just use a set of flares if you want to do that large of a tire in the rear. The reaction research YZ flares should work for you. http://www.reactionresearch.com/280yzgallery.html
  11. Looks really good. Also looks like you have a lot of ground clearance with these tall tires. Are you still thinkin of doing a v8 turbo swap into it? Justin

  14. Very nice car. I love the front end. I'm not a fan of the blue paint, I think grey would look more subtle with all of the carbon fiber. Justin

  17. Looks very nice. Is that an SSAUTOCHROME intercooler? Could you take some pictures of the internal core when you have a chance? I want to see what the interal vanes look like. I really love the way a tubed Z car looks. Ever since I saw the Hot Rod Magazine pumpgas drag car I've wanted to do one. It just looks so clean with factory fenders and big meats underneath. Justin
  18. I bought a 60mm wastegate as well. Looks very nice to me. What is teh long rod and misc other things in the plastic bag for? Here are some more pictures of the diaphragm and spring assembly. Its interesting that this wastegate comes with 4 springs of different rates. You can install 1 or all 4 depending on the boost level you want to set it up for. Also, there is a pretty trick adjustment on the top of the diaphragm to adjust preload on the springs. This is nice for dialing in the boost level. Regards, Justin
  19. (CNN) -- Anna Nicole Smith died Thursday at a South Florida hospital after being discovered unconscious in her hotel room. The reality TV star and former model was 39. "I can confirm that she is deceased. It's as shocking to me as to you guys," Smith's attorney, Ronald Rale, told Reuters. "I don't know anything further. [Her lawyer and husband] Howard [K. Stern], obviously, is speechless and grieving." Smith's private nurse called Seminole Hard Rock Hotel workers at 1:38 p.m. and security went to the room, Seminole Police Chief Charlie Tiger told reporters. Before rescue worked arrived, Smith's bodyguard performed CPR on her, he said. She was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood at 2:10 p.m. where she died, Tiger said. (Watch how Smith's death leaves daughter's fate undecided ) An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, according to the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office. Smith's legal woes Smith was involved in a paternity suit regarding the parentage of her daughter, Danielynn, as well as other disputes, including some regarding a house she stayed at in the Bahamas around the time she gave birth. Earlier this week, Smith was included in a class-action lawsuit against a company, TrimSpa, for which she had worked as a spokesperson. TrimSpa makes a product it claims leads to substantial weight loss. The lawsuit alleges the marketing of the product, TrimSpa X32, was false or misleading. (Full story) Smith's son, Daniel Wayne Smith, died at age 20 just days after the birth of Smith's daughter. Pathologist Cyril Wecht said a lethal dose of methadone and antidepressants caused cardiac dysrhythmia, leading to his death. In June 1994, the then-26-year-old Smith married Texas oil baron J. Howard Marshall II, 89, who had an estate valued at $1.6 billion. He died the following year, and Smith waged a 12-year feud with Marshall's son, Pierce Marshall, over the inheritance. She initially won a $474 million judgment, but that was scrapped when a Texas state court ruled that Pierce Marshall was the sole heir. In May 2006, however, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Smith could pursue her fight in federal court. Pierce Marshall, 67, died in June.
