-
I cant wait to see how it fits.... There is a $300 S12 that im sorta eyeballin right now
-
Yeah, enco is about the cheapest/easiest place to get ok quality tools
-
My friend made 409 whp with no boost creep on a 38mm tial.
-
Ive pushed mine maybe a mile in the last year or two.... from one shop to the other..... before it went under for major surgery it was bout 3-5k a year I think.

You can still order performance parts for those hudson motors. We did a Hornet a few years ago that had headers and a carb upgrade along with some bumped up compression and a cam.
I like the way it looks. Its a four door right?
-
It looks alright...... Wait..... who am I kidding, it looks awesome!!! Im hoping my car comes out that well when all is said and done!

They list 17x7 as $525 ea. 17x9 is $541.92 ea.
That is for a whole wheel, they have some pretty nice billet centers and make whole wheels

My dad had some 13" shells made @ $150 each. I could only imagine a 17" being more. If you call them, make sure to have that tech sheet filled out, it will be easier for them to give you an estimate. The whees you have now are advan's right?

This is the only place I have found so far ... http://www.kodiakracingwheels.com/ Im interested in doing the same thing with this set of Work Ewings I just got. They arent cheap.
-
THAT IS AWESOME!!! It would be cool with some newer speakers, and bigger wheels..... you have to buy 8 of them though
-
Ah, I didnt see you were in florida. of cource you need the A/C! The car looks good by the way.
-
Welcome! Are you going to run the A/C? If not I need those lines haha

Yeah, I made freestyle walking up cause I couldnt remember what it was called. I think its way cool as long as there isnt property distruction. Extreme Gymnastics is what I think they called it on the tv program I saw it on.
I take place in this "freestyle walking"-have never heard that term before' date=' but I'm on the other coast, so it may be a slang word or something for it. Its actually called Le Parkour, and its quite popular in France and such. It has started to spread on the west coast, nobody really does it over here, but I like to at times, takes your mind off things.http://www.klimo.net/parkour/vids/hopphopp.wmv
Think of it more as "Extreme Gymnastics" if anything, mixed with BIG-CAJONES syndrom.[/quote']

Man, they should punish parents for raising childeren that are F***ups like that. We have always had problems with kids in the industrial park my dads shop is in. They will break into the enclosed trailer, steel the broom that is in there, then tag the outside of the trailer.....
So a story I go into. There was a group of kids that usually came through and would do the 'freestyle walking' or 'extreme' whatever its called where they like jump off of roofs and scale walls and crap. So usually these kids would go away once you told them you called the cops.... well one day they came through with a video camera, and were jumping on some parked vans and we actually called the cops.... BUSTED!!! with video evendence of them breaking windows on these vans, and denting the roof's and hood's. So the cops came over and said they kids were doing this as a 'school project'. the cop had a good laugh about that one. I havent seen those kids since either.

Yeah, 7" wide and 0 offset is usually a good bet

I say get some fake aligator skin, they have material that looks like it.... or you could use something more normal. ok so you could use some velcro to attach it. It would be removable to show off the aluminum dash, and would block the reflection when its installed. The velcro should be strong enough if you used like a 1/2" strip around the edge of the dash.

I would say if you got a quality file, and kept it clean while working, you could do it that way. Also a dremel tool with a quality bit in it could work as well. I 'may' have to hammer my strut tower a bit, but its got almost an inch clearance, and my motor shouldnt be moving that much.
As for the turbo, I will be getting like a 100* bent aluminum tube to weld to the compressor outlet. I thought about the silicone like J. has, but I think it would end up melting that close to the exhaust manifold. Ill also be making some sort of heat shield to over the first three runners, so the compressor housing doesnt super heat being that close to the header.

Yikes, that is pretty cool. I always wanted to do a triumph chopper, or a 4cyl chopper. Im pretty happy with my current bike though, so no more projects for me.

Your first one is backwards, if you have more frontspacing than backspacing the offset number would be -19. And I can say for sure that 41mm offset would NOT be something your looking for on the Z. that would end up being sunk into the fender like 2" not a great look IMHO. Here is a backspacing vs offset guide you can use. http://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html that has an excellent chart of offset vs back spacing. If you want to get fancy you can use this calculator http://www.venommotorsports.com/library/tirewheelcalculator.asp enter you numbers and see how far you 'inboard increase' and 'outboard increase' is to figure out exactly how much you want the wheel to sink into the fender. Hope this helps.

there is a 2 part adhesive that you put through a special nozzle that mixes the two parts while you push on the trigger of the gun.
A buddy of mine used it to mold on his 944 gt flares' date=' and this stuff is strong.
I wish i could remember the name of it!!!
all I remember is that the mixing nozzle snaked the 2 parts around and by the time the epoxy reached the tip, both parts were fully mixed.[/quote']
Ive used the same stuff, its specifically for mating steel to fibreglass correct? We had a bubbling issue when we used it on a miata bumper which was plastic. I seriously cant remember the name either..... The nozzle was like 6" long right?

I would think any maxima pan would work, since they are all front sump and L motors. I used to have an extra LD pan laying around, and I might still have the pickup, I will look tomorrow. What do you need it for if you dont mind me asking?

Well I started working on the manifold today. First off was the most dangerous way of elongating the holes. I clamped the manifold into the vise on the bridgeport and tilted the head back. I was using a 4 flute 1/2 carbide endmill. It chattered really bad, but the holes are about .050" longer in each direction now. There are a few that will need to go longer, but im going to get them with the grinder and a small carbide tool.
Next I tackled the flange. I cut a pie shape out of the flange about .750" on the large side and just hammered the flange down untill it sat flush with the main part of the manifold. I could have gotten away with only cutting a .500" pie out of the manifold, but I cut more than I needed. Im going to start welding it up tomorrow, and relocate the wastegate flange a bit closer to the collector. This picture is after hammering it down, I forgot to take one prior.
Finally its in there, with the turbo bolted to it. Im pretty sure there is enough clearance around the turbo, the valve covers and the fender. The compressor housing is a .70 trim and should have a 60-1 wheel in it. A smaller turbo would end up having alot of room
Im excited, this is the first 'real' work ive done on my car in a few months and it feels good. I also got new wheels in today (woot for 17's!)
Whats a 77 Tranny worth?

A local Z shop gave me $200 for mine. They had a customers car apart in the shop that needed it though.
