  1. Thanks guys! should be up and running by friday
  2. I realize that the SDS needs power both while the key is in the on position and also while it is cranking. I guess what I am asking is what wire (or wires) have power when the key is in both positions. I thought I had it figured out but the wire I picked didnt work out so well. Thanks from anyone who has the answer! oh yah my car should be back on the road once I figure this all out and put the hood back on Later all! ~Kenny
  3. Wow, I had no idea that everyone else did the same thing I did for the pully mount I hadnt asked anyone and that is where I put mine too. almost identical to 240hoke's but mine is shiny aluminum I mounted my magnets myself by making a template and laying it over the pully. I really have been thinking about ordering new magnets and re-doing it (the depths are all a little different from eachother) I do have to say planning all the mounts/magnets was the hardest part of the install. Everything else is easy as pie Hopefully mine will get fired up agian this weekend.... its only been a year and a half Later! ~Kenny {EDIT}~ lets see if I can get my sig fixed
  4. My N-42 block and oil pickup worked just fine. I put it all together about 2 weeks ago. I had both the F54 pickup and the N42 on just incase... I think they are the same. Wait a sec.... did I put the pickup in Also not to cause trouble, you are sure that the pickup is in there the right way, I think it could be easy to put in 180 deg off. HTH ~Kenny
  5. I think an advantage that I have "heard" (no facts from me right now) is that the flat crank makes the motor more "rev-able" (the faster you can turn it the more power right?). perhaps it just sounds that way. Also I know that Audi had been banned from IMSA racing in the early 90's because they where using a flat crank in thier V8 sedans....
  6. dont think its been done but I think a single turbo rotary would be more fun The SR20Det is a kool motor though. I would think motor mounts, tranny mounts, and a driveshaft would be the big worries. Later! ~Kenny
  7. dude, im in there, where is everyone else?
  8. I will let you know in a few weeks when my car starts up and I get the SDS tuned up. I am running a N42 block and head with turbo pistons and stock head gasket. My reason for not going to the P90 is the fact that A: I couldnt find one that I could afford, and B: My machinist had a N42 head sitting in the shop ready to go The car the turbo pistons came out of had the P90 robbed off of it already by some other smart minded Z'er before I got to it. Another reason, kind of something I thought of afterwards was the idea that off boost driveablity and a little better gas milage may be gained when my foots not in it I post again about how it runs and such in a few weeks. Later! ~Kenny
  9. I Got one so far in my two-three years of goin to the pullapart. it cost $64 and was worth every skinned nuckle I say go for it! you might just grab the whole motor, there could be some fun things to play with having a little higher deck height..... ~Kenny
  10. you should be able to get $50 for it on ebay. I wouldnt use it in a Z. The Audi community complains about how crappy of an intercooler it is good luck with your turbo Z! ~Kenny
  11. Looks good, I was hoping to get away without having to cut the inner fender (thought I saw someone who had made it without) but it still gives me an excellent idea of what plumbing mine is goin to take. Had you thought about re-clocking the turbo to point downwards (twards the frame rail) to avoid some of those tight bends? off to the drawing board for me! PS , thanks for the pics! ~Kenny
  12. I too would like to see pics from the top of the engine bay and from the direct bottom to see how that tube snakes under the car. I am planning on running my plumbing that way but I need to see how it looks/works first. Thanks ~Kenny
  13. I think the crank I pulled out of the ZXT motor had the casting of P30xxx on it. I cant remember and it is long gone
  14. and in my city..... Good thing I dont have any money right now
  15. I cant wait to hear how that thing runs and how much HP it makes , I have nearly the same setup goin on my car (as soon as I get my head back ) good luck with the first trip BTW , your car is really really good lookin ~Kenny
  16. Mike , the K26 doesnt bolt to the T3 flange (ive got both in the garage... stoopid Audi's ) They are indeed too small for Z use. KKK did make a K27 and K29. The K27 will bolt to the T3 flange and has some massive power potential (blitz uses a K27 variant on thier 35 psi 800hp skyline) The K27's came stock on 911 turbo's I believe. Another problem with the KKK turbo's is they arent set up for an internal wastegate so you have to run an external one. BTW , twin K26's would be madness HTH ~Kenny
  17. I think they are the pre SR20det 2.0l turbo motor nissan offered. Im sure they didnt come in the states. If I remember also , they are cast iron block with alluminum head. HTH ~Kenny
  18. I had my rockers re sufaced at Delta Camshaft , I think it was like $2-3 a piece. They have been a great company to deal with , my dad and I have had maybe 10 cams including some really wierd 30's era cars (pierce arrows , packards that sorta thing) here is thier web site Delta Camshaft EDIT~ JUN also makes cams for L series motors , cant remember what wierd catalog I was looking in for that one......
  19. eBay , what a great place for dreams to come true its like a swap meet but better
  20. HMMMMMM .... I should be able to program something into the SDS to dump excess fuel into the motor Those honduhh boys wont know what hit 'em later ~Kenny
  21. Hey all , I hope this isnt too out of place here but I am trying to find a turbo for my Audi. Long story short I am looking for a KKK K26 with the #8 compressor housing found on newer (88+) porche 944 turbo S cars. Thought I would try here as everywhere else seems to be a dead end. It can be in any condition becuase it will be getting rebiult before use anyways. (Mods , if this is too out of place feel free to delete the thread) thanks for the help! ~Kenny
  22. Well I just sold a motor but havent found a decent place to ship yet. Any "been there , done that" on this one? Any help or names of good companies would be great. thanks ~Kenny
  23. They sell on ebay to guys who will never use them for 25-50 bones. IF you write a good ad I am sure that it would go higher. No use on a Z though , WAY TOO SMALL
  24. No problem , Thanks for keeping us up to date!
  25. I am just testing somthing
