  1. An Audi tuning company did this first
  2. Glad to hear you fixed your misfire! Those are some great numbers too
  3. I think when I installed my headgasket and ARP's it was something like 88% of the original factory torque spec. It should say on the little piece of paper you got with your headstud kit. I used copper spray on my metal gasket and have had 2000 miles of leak free performance. HTH ~Kenny
  4. http://www.venommotorsports.com/library/tirewheelcalculator.asp You can use this calculator to figure out how far the rim will move "out" of your wheel well. Just enter all the info about your current wheels and also your new wheels. It will show your wheel "inboard" increase and "outboard" increase and then you can just go measure on your car and see if they will fit. HTH ~Kenny
  5. cool, thanks for the info guys, a nice Z31 5 lug car just showed up at the junkyard, non turbo of course. I will be pulling the hubs and doing the swap soon. now I have to find some 5 lug 16" wheels
  6. Hey all, I tryed the search feature but couldnt find any hard info on this subject. I was wondering if the 300zx (z31) five lug hubs are used when converting a 240-280z over to 5 lug. I did a test fit at the junkyard, but wasnt 100% on thier fitment. Any info, or maybe a how to on this would be great. Thanks!! ~Kenny {edit} I forgot to mention, im planning the swap onto a 75 280z
  7. I used cotton swabs (ie Q-tips) to clean out the WD40 and carb cleaner I had put into my bolt holes after chasing them. It worked really well, but took alot of swabs. My ARP's went all the way in without any problems. HTH ~Kenny
  8. Velocity stack? thats gotta be it I saw a few on Ebay with 4" inlets for turbo's, there may be more now. HTH ~Kenny
  9. I am running 440cc supra turbo injectors with no problems other than having to make a new fuel rail for them. BTW I have SDS to control them ~Kenny
  10. Cross flow is when the intake and exhaust ports are on opposite sides of the head. An L motor is NOT a crossflow motor because both the intake and exhaust ports are on the same side of the head. HTH ~Kenny
  11. Hey all, I was curious if anyone here has had to ship an airbag before. I looked at UPS.com and couldnt find anything specific about airbags being against the rules to ship so Im not sure. Just checking here before I go call thier 1-800 number. Any help is welcome! ~Kenny
  12. that looks like the normal tial/turbonetics wastegate mount. I dont think any audi wastegate uses that pattern, I have an audi gate in the garage and it uses an odd shaped 4 bolt pattern. Im sure every audi up untill 96-97 used the same wastegate too. HTH ~Kenny
  13. I bought my ARP studs from http://www.Summitracing.com If you use their search feature with the keyword "datsun ARP" or "nissan ARP" you should be able to find them pretty quickly
  14. I replaced mine with ARP's from Summit racing. Everyone "says" the stockers are one time use, but it seems alot of people re-use them. HTH ~Kenny
  15. Got my turbo back finnally (I sent it there in FEB) Anyways, I got the same bad feeling when I called them, they blamed me for the turbo being there so long, though they could never return any of my phone calls. I had to tell him to find the turbo while I held on the line. Good news is its back! bad news is I need to find someone reputible to rebuild it. Later ~Kenny
  16. John, I think you can make a photo gallery on hybridz. If not, go ahead and Email me the pics to Fiestaboy80@hotmail.com and I will host them for you later tonite. Later! ~Kenny
  17. The linkage itself is pretty easy. Basically, you take the "arm" off your old throttle body, its the part with the ball end on it, dont know what its real name is Then you take the 240sx linkage off, leaving the inner spring on the 240sx TB. Put the "arm" off the 280zx throttle body and put it on in the correct direction and then bolt it down. If the 240sx throttle body is one with cruise control, you will have to make a spacer for the shaft, or better yet thread it down far enough and cut off the excess. Here is a crappy, I just ran out in the garage and snapped a pic, picture. HTH ~Kenny
  18. 23 as of 9-11-03 Yeah, my Z is about 5 years older than me.... kinda funny to think of that Im glad to see that there are as many young people and older people on the board, lots of knowlage to be shared!
  19. That Dahlbach golf is insane. I too am guessing the biggest turbo is out on a ship somewhere. I have seen pictures of a guy standing in the inlet of a boat turbo, but I couldnt find them anywhere. later ~Kenny
  20. Unfortunitally, they have had my turbo since last febuary, I have called a few times but usually get the run-around on what its going to cost to have fixed. Kinda pissing me off, I asked them to send it back to my twice now. oh well, count me out one turbo ~Kenny
  21. yah, pretty much anything emissions related is gone from my engine bay. Looks like austin's, just not quite as polished ~Kenny
  22. thats way too small of an IC for a Z. They came on the isuzu impulse turbo's. tiny turbo and only a 2.0 litre motor. not enough airflow for your Z ~Kenny
  23. I have heard rumor of these guys being very good at getting ahold of metric to -AN adapters, and plan on using them when I have a little extra $$$ to buy the stuff. http://www.americanstreetrod.com You have to Email them to find anything out, but I have heard good things about them! HTH ~Kenny
  24. The 240sx TPS, at least all the ones I have found, are swtich type. If you get a sentra SER throttle body (like 90-92 style) its a ponetiameter(SP) type and also 60mm. The idle adjustment can be carried out by adjusting the stop on the TB so the plate stays a little more open rather than closing all the way. Also, you wont have to cut the TB shaft at all if you get the TB off of a car WITHOUT cruise control. the shaft is short enough that all you have to do is take off the linkage and the outter return spring on the TB. Leave the inner spring on there, and bolt on the Z linkage in the proper position. HTH ~Kenny
