  1. Wanna get a decent 240 or 260z that can drive to a new home in the Everett area. Looking for one that doesnt have cancer in the hatch, or under the battery box, I can deal with the rest, $2,000.00 limit.

  5. they NEVER ALMOST EVER have anything in stock, i have a 1500.00 dollar account there been waitinf for them the get their shi$ together for 2 weeks and will be waiting for at least 2 more because NONE of the stuff was ni stock, so call them ahead of time to get a quote on things, but they are a good company, and reliable
  6. A V8 is the OLDEST idea for a alternative Z engine PERIOD/ if you wanna do something different, do some reasearch, a thing just catchin on now is the SR20DET, RB25 or 26, v8's are old news (somehow i think this is gonna start a fight...but what the hell)

  8. total sh$t, ive got a friend that got one for his 89 240sx with an sr and it was warped, and cost him more than he bought it for to have the mounting surface machined down and decked. if your gonna go ahead and spend hte mulah for this swap, get the good stuff, otherwise it's just half a$$.

  12. Your not driving the car cus its safe for god sake if your that worried about it get a volvo, sports cars are supposed to be light, not NECESSARILY safe.
  13. I would like to see a retro-remake of the First-Gen Z car, you know, like what ford did with the mustange, or chevy did with the camaro. i think that would be outta this world! almost no matter the price i would buy it!
  14. I just tried calling in an order for the G-Nose conversion from MSA, and they told me that their supplier of it stopped making Z parts!!!! WHAT, they told me they didn't know when, or IF they wo8uld dupply it anymore, but they are actively trying to get a mold. This really sucks, does anyone out there know of any companies with GOOD reputation and quality that offers a G-Nose conversion???

  16. by the looks of the hatch, if you EVER want a nice car, all new interior, a new hatch, and loooooooooots of sheet metal and a big a$$ roll of MIG welder rod. Also look other places for typical rot (i.e. floor pans, under the spare tire, TC rod mounts. Well at LEAST you didnt pay big time for it, but you can find much better my friend for the ame price. i suggest if your going anywhere with it other than a crude commuter you get it media blasted/stripped, its the onl yway to find all the rot, these are FAMOUS cars for rot problems, but I and im sure everyone else wishes ya the best of luck on your new project, and first car, welcome to Hybrid Z.
  17. I cant find a place to buy factory stock STEEL fenders. I would go to MSA for um but i cant find um on their website. Do they sell um??? does anyone know of any business with good rep that sell factory style steel (preffered steel) front 240Z fenders???? if so post it please!!! starting a build soon.

  20. re reading this you guys dont know anything about structural integrity. If you crease a piece of material ( EVENLY THE WHOLE LENGTH) it increases its's strength only if you are talking about tensile strength (on the leading edge) but will destroy your integrity from side impact, since a car has LOTS of flex when you go around a hard corner, your piece of material (given the right amount of stress) will fold over and crumple. Also it's VERY hard to flare a hole in the middle of a panel, or on the parts of the body that carry structural integrity, lathough yes it does help to a degree, but not as much as it's been explained thus far. The best thing to do is to cut out holes in parts of the car that carry little if ANY structural integrity, like the floor pans, trunk pan, brackets in the dash etc, instead of doing such EXTENSIVE drilling in your side panels, and core support members (they call them supports for a reason) which is where most of your integrity in the Z is.
  21. If your really looking at saving THAT much weight why dont you go on a diet, probly get better results out of that, and wont have to PERMINATLY ruined the structural integrity of your Z (Cages dont fix everything).
  22. go to the nissan 4 cylinder forum, there are a lot of guys doing SR20DET swaps, and that pick of the SR, is from a guys car that has a shop that specializes in that kind of stuff, and has done several SR240Z deals. It's really a good motor, it has a 5 speed, gets reasonably over 25 MPG, you can pull around 400 hp at the wheels with stock internals RELIABLY, it weighs MUCH MUCH less than the stock Z motors and trannies, and it STOCK has 50-150hp more than the Z motors, and with the popularity, LOTS AND LOTS of parts makers. It's the total pacakge, I have a 72 240Z that I commute in and make over 350WHP on a mild build and get over 25MPG (if i stay out of boost lol) and can woop on the track! look into it at the nissan 4 cylinder forum!
  23. 1.) Ferrari Super-America (for the rarity) 2.) A lotus Exige (for track purposes) 3.) A REAL 240ZG (for the classisc) 4.) Lamborghini Miura with an easier clutch and tranny to operate sheesh (for the sex appeal) 5.) I have to agree with Mongo510, a last generation XKE jag with the V12, and as a convertible! (for the daily commuter and prestige) thats my break down
  24. yeah what a GREAT deal!!!! yeah right lol. You can get something a lot more attractive/reasonable for less money, hell a whole new set of Panasports for that much practicly!
