  1. Should I just drill into the compressor housing and put them in, or can I use a port on my manifold with a check valve so the waste gate wont see vacuum?
  2. Anyone have any wiring info for a rb25 going into a 300zx? The sticky is for a s30 and things are a little different in a 300. Thanks
  3. Looks like that clutch has slipped. Nice blue burn.
  4. Pop off and blow off are 2 completely different things. Clearly you know the pop off is a overboost protection. On yours I think its set at 9 psi. You can crush it to make it open at a higher psi, or remove it all together and just get a boost guage. Blow off is mainly for the turbo. With out one, all that pressure you built has to go somewhere when you let off the gas, and it goes back out the way it came in caused the turbo to rapidly slow, or reverse. That is a lot of stress on a turbo, espesially if you run higher psi's. So the blow off valve releases the pressure when you let off the gas so it won't go back through the turbo. You will also benifit because the turbine won't slow as much between shifts and the boost will come back very quick for the next gear. And last... they just sound cool.
  5. Without running a air regulator your car will run rough while cold.. like you have a big cam. Once my o2 warms up it runs smoother and perfect at operating temp. Only "Sensors" you really need are; o2 AFM Head temp Water temp TPS (which really only works at idle to bring the timing at a good spot to idle.)
  6. Engine= 1981 L28ET with a 83 zxt solid lifter head. Turbo= Blown T3 currently. Upgrading to a T3/T4 this winter. Exhaust system= 2.5" staight pipe out the side. No cat, no muffler. How much boost you run and when it goes pos pressure to peek boost. 10 psi... Was limited by injectors, still using stockers 260cc. Now I will put in the 370's for next year and go to 18+ psi ECU= NIStune with a 1981 280zxt coverted wire harness to support the 300zxt ECCS and even more mods so I can run my 90's 300zxtt MAF. HP= currently enough to hold a brake stand in 3rd. Next year i want to hold in 4th.
  7. The igniter should be attached to the coil bracket. Here is a pic of one..
  8. Thanks guys for the heads up. I have this swap in its own Photobucket account so it can handle the bandwidth since its on a few Z sites. Got scared this morning with the PM's and the Emails saying the pictures are gone. Should be fixed now.

    Nistune

I am running NisTune as well. I have a Type 1 board. It is running in my 240z turbo. I have a the 280zxt FI and ignition harness with the z31 MAF and ECCS mods. I dont run the Z31 MAF anymore, upgraded to the Z32 MAF. I love NISTune, someday I will get a newer board, but for now it works fine. Anyone have any maps for a Z32 MAF, 370cc injectors?
  10. Done a lot of changes in 2 years Engine: stock 81 280zxt bottom end 83.5 turbo head with solid lifters Intake: LD intake converted to run gas 60 mm 240sx throttle body Porsche 944 IC with 2.5" IC pipes Exhaust: Stock T3 turbo with 360 degree thrust bearing Stock downpipe 2.5" staight exhaust out the side, no cat or muffler Electronics: NIStune type 1 ECCS and romulator (Z31) Z32 MAF Laptop 83 280zxt Distributor and CAS Fuel: Walbro 255L fuel pump 260 cc injectors (right now to learn how to tune) 370's go back in in June. 3/8" fuel line through out Custom fuel sump Custom fuel rail Adjustable FPR Power: Dunno!! When I first was done with the turbo swap with stock 280zxt electronics I ran a 14.1 in the quarter at stock boost. So now with some new, more efficient, more up to date parts, I'd like to think it has more than stock power. My goal is 300hp.
  11. How about by lowering the fuel pressure? I have a adjustable FPR. Would that require to low of pressure to atomize the fuel correctly? I have a ECCS with NIStune and a Romulator, but the NIStune board is fried... just waiting to get money to fix it.
  12. I have a 240z turbo with the z31 eccs and maf upgrade. I seem to have destroyed 2 of my stock injectors. Do any of you run 370cc injectors on your stock eccs? If so, how?
  13. Converted my brothers 88 300zx from an auto to a manual, also deleted the emissions stuff as well since there is no smog testing here. Well we put the engine back in, hooked it all up and we got it to fire and run once, but died after about 30 seconds. Now it wont fire at all. Read the codes on the eccs, water temp sensor, and speed sensor. Water temp it pugged in, so not sure what is going on with that. Speed sensor, not sure there either. I also get both lights blinking at the same time 3, 4, and 5 times, dont know what that means. I also noticed that the injectors have power when the car is off, and even with the eccs unplugged. Is that normal?
  14. Wasnt hard to make, a torch and my body weight to bend the aluminum. It doesnt flex at all when you grab it.
  15. To catch up on my build http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=131932 Today was the day. Finished the throttle cable and went for a drive. First video is with my real camera, then the batteries died, so I have to go back to my phone for crappy quality. As I was uploading from my phone, I realized I had the video on the lowest setting.. BAH!! Theres the problem.
  16. Today I went out there to get it to stay running. Success! After twice having to pull the plugs and dry them, figured out my head temp sensor was off. Dont remeber pulling that, but ok. Plugged it back in and SHIPOOPIE! And its all completely put back together
  17. measured, marked my lines and just used a sawzall. Then just grinded both ends till they were the same length. Used a level just to make sure I didnt push too hard on one end.
  18. My dad did all the welding. He isn't an artist on it since he builds semi's and trailers and the welding doesn't have to look all that great since a lot of it is grinded smooth. I really didnt care what the welds looked like, as long as it had good penetration and didn't have any holes blown through it.
  19. After forgetting a few things, It started. Flooded rather quickly because the IC pipes are not hooked up completely yet.
  20. All that remains is, My IC to TB pipe has to have 2 inches cut off the IC side, and have the 30 degree bend on the TB side cut in half and rotated 180 degrees. Also I have to lengthen the fuel line to each injector a little bit to clear a fitting for vacuum. Then install a throttle cable.
