WOW That Z rules Is that a "BRE style" front spoiler? Have been considering getting one, and it looks great on your car!
-
When I swapped the R180 to a R200 in my 240Z, I just made a new hole in the mustache bar so the new diff would fit correctly. I'm not sure how wise that was but it has worked a year now.
-
I have a Ford 289 (almoust stock) in my 240Z with 15" rims and use a 3.7 R200, works fine... EDIT: Forgot to tell that I use a T5 from a Chevrolet and have 265/50/15 rear tyres...

Thanks DavyZ You are correct about that it's easier to make the air dam to fit. Was looking at the flares last night and it would be much more complicated to shape them than the air dam. Will buy one and make it fit
-
The only air dam that will fit is the "BRE" front spoiler in the MSA-catalogue. But I don't like the looks of it. Well, I believe I have to change the front flares a little bit. After that it will be a lot easier to install an air dam.

Can you guys help me to choose a front spoiler to my 240Z. I know that there is a lot of options and e.g. VB and MSA sells spoilers to Z-cars. The problem is that I have flares on the car. They look like the IMSA-flares that MSA sells, but they are much lower in the front than the IMSA-flares. Here is a link to a pick that shows the case: 240Z pic Is there any spoiler that could fit without having to cut the flares?

Holy ****! That car rocks!!! It's at the same time scary and beautiful. In my taste almost perfect! Congrats Rick!

They sell the kit at MJPauto in the UK. Here is a link: https://www.internetsecureserver.com/mjpauto/p78.html A really nice kit!!!

Damn, the discs on my 240Z was warped and had to order new ones. I ordered the cross-drilled from VB I should have asked you guys before ordering... Payed big $ (the taxes and custom fees ) I hope they are at least a little better than the old ones...

Darius, your car is really cool! I have a black 240Z with a V8 in it (not many V8Z here...) and always someone asks me if I have seen the Darius videos So, you are pretty well known here in Finland also

Thanks Mike KZ. That site was very informative. I'm afraid that something like that must be wrong in my Z. Will try to find out what part is not placed as it should be. There has been so many drivetrain-modifications in the car that I'm surpriced that the situation ain't more critical. I have used the Ford bellhousing. I have a custom made piece of aluminium, so the GM T5 fits with the Ford bellhousing. I used to have a Ford T10, but the diff is a 3.70 so there was not enough gears. The T5 is better in my case (The clutch is from a Pontiac Transporter and the hydraulic-cylinders are Datsuns own).

I have a 240Z with a Ford 289, a GM T5 and a R200. The problem is that after about 55 mph on the speedo the car starts to "shake", like there would be some problem with the tyres. I've checked them and no problem there, they are in pretty good balance. The problem is really bad, and I can not drive faster than about 60 mph, becouse then the car is shaking so badly that my teeth loosens... Could it be that the drive shaft is not balanced correctly? Or could it something else? I am going to balance the drive shaft in any case.

Has anyone found more information about this Skyline/Z -car? I have tried several times to find but have not found anything
-
Yep, I will buy if you can ship to Europe

Thanks Tim

I've got this problem with tyres for my 240Z. I have 15" rims and the car has IMSA-style flares. The tyres in front are 225/50/15 and with them I have not problems to find new ones. But the rear tyres... The size is 265/50/15 (BF Goodrich) and I cant find new ones What should I do??? Do I have to buy new set of wheels and tyres? In that case, do you suggest any good 16" wheels? Or does anybody know of 255 or 265 tyres? Here is a pic of my rearwheels: http://www.dnsf.org/images/motopark220902/ratapaiva/pages/430.htm

I think that the guys here have talked about this issue a lot. When I started here I asked the same question as you, and got the answer that you should read the old discussions about the issue. You will find answers about the speedo-problem, so start with the "Search" -option. I did it the easy way and changed my Ford T10 to a Chevy T5 -gearbox

Hi again, Thought that I should send a link to pics from our day at the Motopark-track. There was only two old Z-cars, my 240Z and a 260Z. The rest were ZX and SX cars. I had big problems with the clutch-hyraulics... Well, I got on the track and did drive 4 laps (only with the 3-gear...). But it was so FUN Next year again!!! Here is the link: http://www.dnsf.org/images/motopark220902/ratapaiva/index.htm There is some pics of my 240Z (the black one), e.g. pics 398-407, 429, 430, 474, 475, 566, 567 and in 421 is a pic of me really sad-looking

They answered to my mail today from JTR, so the situation is under controll
-
I've tried to reach the Stealth conversions / JTR by e-mail and fax but they have not answered. I did order the speedo cable and am wondering why they haven't contacted me Do you guys know anybody at the JTR so I could contact directly?
-
Thanks Mike C The problem with a Ford T5 was that I did not find one here in Finland. And a friend had this Chevy T5 so I thought that why not. And the combination works well. Only thing that was a bit difficult was to find a good clutch to this combination, but I used one from a Pontiac Transporter and it works well
-
I'm new on this Chevy side, but have been reading the topics here. The situation is that I have a 240Z -72 with a Ford 260 and a Chevy Camaro T5 gearbox. So this one is a real hybrid Problem no.1 is the speedo cable. Where can I buy a speedo cable that fits between the 240Z speedo and the T5 gearbox? Or do I have to "build" one? Problem no.2 is the tach. Hoew can make it working properly? Now it works, but reads wrong becouse of the V8 swap. Kimi
-
Jes, it´s alive The Camaro T5 is working, and is totally different from the Ford T10. I realised that the T5 is also a lot lighter than the old one Well, now I haven´t got any money left so I have to start driving the car instead of buying new parts for it Thanks guys for the help. Kimi

Holy ****, This project was not so easy. There have been a lot of problems with the T5-swap. First, the 289-block looks like to be the really old version, so the spacer plate did not fit <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="mad.gif" /> Then I realized that the T5 I had bought was from a Camaro (the seller told me that it was from a stang...) So, now I am trying to get this puzzle to work... I have a new spacer plate that was made only for this swap and a clutch from a Pontiac Transporter V6 is beeing installed (only one that fits...) I am happy if I will get the car to move with these parts! The easy way would have been to start looking for a Ford T5, but they are so rare here in Finland that I had to start to build the car with these parts. Maybe I should come to th U.S. and buy a LOT of Ford stuff... <img border="0" alt="[rockon]" title="" src="graemlins/rockon.gif" />

That looks great! I wish I also could install that kind of mufflers, but it is illegal here in Finland
