  1. WOW, Alex....a rare JY find for sure!! Some of the stuff I would like will be a PITA to get out, but here goes: Dash, if good. Center console, if it has one headlight rollover cable (heard that spares are good to have) Any good interior pieces Any good rubber (door seals and side window seals with the locking trim) ANY of the lights (turn, marker etc, esp. the drivers rear 1/4 panel marker). Window winder mechanism (old cable sytle thing) Interior door panels. Anything that looks to be in good condition. JY down here, in all the years I've been going, has never had a GT!! Thanks. Tim
  2. Great info!!! thanks for the article!!
  3. Terry, Can't give you any specifics on that product, but I have applied large sections of vinyl over compound curves. I used distilled water with a drop of dish detergent on the surface to allow movement of the vinyl before final 'stick'. Also use a RUBBER squeegee, not a plastic one (like you would use for body filler. The plastic ones tear up the vinyl..... Again, not sure if the 3M stuff would work in the same manner. Tim
  4. Single stage is just a base coat without clear over coat. I guess it's the way the color coat goes on, as opposed to the clear....I think the clear is thicker, therefore has much more of a tendancy to orange peel....but hell, i could be talking out my @ss..... I used PPG single stage black. BTW...do a search!!
  5. Me either....I was puking because of...er...bad fish at dinner...yeah..that's it
  6. Moved to non-tech forum. Look at the stickies in this forum on how to post pictures.
  7. Man, I don't envy you!! Color sanding is a beeeache at the best of times, but all those curves and crevaces!! Looks like it came out really nice. Looks to be quite a bit of orange peel, so i would start with 1000. Just take care around the edges. It was for this reason why I used single stage in my engine bay.....
  8. Mark, Keep an eye out on the chevy truck board and ebay, there are usually several around. I bought my truck seven years ago when I first arrived in the States. I actually wanted a shortbed step side, but needed a vehicle in a rush......I could never be without a truck.....I rebuilt the engine with Vortec heads and cam etc, now I am going to upgrade to a 200 4R also. I need to give her a repaint too.....I love this truck...it's so easy to drive, and runs so well. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/index.php3? If I found a buyer for mine and found a decent shorty step side, I would sell....
  9. Check here: http://forums.hybridz.org/search.php? Welcome to the board....be sure to read all the 'stickies' at the top of each forum. Tim
  10. Well, let's count: 71 Chevy truck (can be seen in the pic above) 1994 Z28 1973 V8 (?) Z (currently without any drivetrain) 1973 Opel GT 1996 Volvo 850 1973 240Z (stock and 100% original).....soon to be owned by our very own SD... That's no so many....at least I sold the second GT, the 1940 Chevy, the Ninja ZX-7, the other brown 73 240, and the 83 ZXT..... Tim
  11. Now on to the mechanicals. It runs, but has been sitting for years. My plans are to transplant the engine with a 2L 12valve turbo 4Cyl from a Mazda 626 with a Mazda pickup 5 speed....haven't decided on the rear yet.
  12. Just now picked it up from the bodyshop.....all I asked was for them to throw on some new paint so that it didn't look like a JY mobile....they did a fantastic job!!!! Corvette blue (there just happened to be a Vette in the shop at the same time, so they "overmixed" the amount of paint). I bought 2 of these cars about 6 months ago for $1100, and traded one of them for the paint and bodywork....great deal: paint and body (incl. patching rust and fixing wavy bodylines) for $550!! Here she is:
