  1. I retrofitted mine like this the first time using s2k projectors, but they don't have a high beam, plus I did not like the distortion of the beam going thru the 7" glass lens. I went ahead and did the Accura TL retrofit (has hi/low) and used powder coated spun alum 7" headlight racing lens protectors (after having a hole machined in them for the projector lens) to hold the TL housings. I know I can do it over if I want, and use the 7" glass housings again, to get rid of the blacked out look, but I'm going to leave it cause I like it, and that's who counts...
  2. This is some of the mod pics I've saved. As you can see, the P/U was modified so that the orig P/U hole in the block was used. I'm sure there are other mod pics floating around.... Click-em
  3. Tornado warnings.... love em! Very common down here. I had the same wet floors when I moved from Calif. to Louisiana. The car grew up in Calif., so it hardly ever saw rain. Once here, wet floors... It turned out to be both my rubber cowl drains were dry rotted, and cracked at the 90*elbows of the rubber. I fixed those and been dry ever since!!
  4. Hmmm... I never noticed it doing that on mine. Not to say it dosen't. It must have a purpose. I still think you should be able to slide the top selector to heat, and slide your hot/cold selector all the way to hot (to the right) and turn your fan switch on, and get hot air coming out of the unit. If you slide the top selector all the way to the right, that's for defrost, correct? Something tells me the problem still may lay in the vacuum lines. that's the most common trouble causing issue with these hivac systems. Sorry I couldn't help you any further... BTW, I'm going off memory on the selector positions, since my car is out of reach right now...
  5. Thanks, glad it helped a little any ways. Be sure to let me know when you get them pans ready to sell. I may take one off your hands for future stuff...
  6. So when you switch it to the hot side, the fan turns off?
  7. On my 260 (with oem air con) I don't think there is a switch that would turn on the hot air vs the cold air. If you turn the fan switch all the way to the right, it should be blowing , no matter what the temp control switch is set to. Are you saying if you have the temp control switch on cold, the fan will blow, but if you slide the temp control to hot, the fan turns off? If that's happening, I'm totally lost. If the fan blows while the temp control is on hot or cold, that's normal to me. If your prob is not the fan, but just hot air vs cold air, then you may need to start checking your vacuum lines. that's what controls the heat being able to enter the cabin. That's of course if your getting hot water to the core, for the fan to blow thru. Remove the control panel in the dash and look behind it. There are several vacuum lines that hook to the selectors. Then trace them to where they go and see if any are missing/cracked etc. Good luck!
  8. I tried my dam-dist to measure this for you today. I could not get to all the areas with out getting on a lift. The pan I have is a RIPS, and it has many angles that I just couldn't measure.... sorry!! PM'd you.
  9. Yes, these are pretty ugly, and are prolly crap to boot... lol Now the oem Q45 projectors in this style are prolly worth the time spent to retrofit them.
  10. I'm using Nismo bearings, but I would not hesitate to use regular Nissan bearings, or any of the commonly sold (ACL, Cosworth, etc.). The most important part is getting the clearances spot on.
  11. I still haven't cut mine yet I have to be careful going over dips in the road. I now have a full set of sectioned/Illuminas ready to put on, and I'll definitely be cutting them now....
  12. I can't speak for anyone but myself in saying, yes I can, that was also one . No harm intended....
  13. Some just don't know how/when to keep the pie hole shut, huh....
  14. Excellent!! I have a complete set I'm fixing to install. You've just shown me a very important mod to have done to mine first. Thanks for the image.
  15. Its missing the brace bracket. I believe this to be my rb P/U.
  16. I can do that. It won't be until the a.m. though. I'll get it posted asap....
  17. I went out and looked at the ones I have, and discovered I have a couple different oil pick ups in my parts bin (L6, rb?). I'm pretty sure I saved mine (didn't use it). Would you know what it looks like exactly?
  18. All your questions can be answered by reading in the RB Forum >> http://forums.hybridz.org/forumdisplay.php?f=85 Look in the sticky'd threads...
  19. Whats the finish called on you powder coat work? Looks kind of like a hammer lite type.
