  1. I suggest you should take a picutre of the conection of the coilpacks and show it to us. Although your coipack cover has the metal bracket that holds the s2 connector on top of the cover it might have been put together with a s2 cover since they are virtually the same as the s1 besides the metal bracket which could be unscreewed off.
  2. I second getoffmyinternet. I suggest you just find another 1jz and put it back in there. o_O You were hyping us up with you purchasing a 260z.
  3. Re-read the Topic and im shure you will find what your looking for.
  4. The sti diff can be bough from $500-$600 the companion axles go around $400. Shipping is also a big factor for you since you live in germany I dont know how much it would cost for them to be shipped. I would like to add that as I was dropping the 260z r180 with the halfshaft on it was heavier than than when i was installing the sti r180 diff with its axles.
  5. Actually design is your choice man. If you want a 260z with stripes its your choice. There is a guy with a red z with a black hood with blacked out hid casings. I dont aproove of his exterior but I bet he cast leave me smelling his z's dust with that rb26dett under the bonnet. If you want stripes go for it were not ones to judge.
  6. It will fit but you wont have that awesome "Turbo" lettering on your engine bay anymore. If you search on ebay or such places im shure you'll find the l28et timing cover.
  7. I forgot to mention you can use your old differential to measure the driveshaft if you go the sti route since the casing is exactly the same as the 260z casing which is the longnose r180, BUT if you choose a different lets say its a r230 shortnose then get the diff first mount and measure.
  8. Your diff size is a r180 longnose. You can get r180 lsd units. Such as a subaru sti differntial from 2004 to 2008
  9. There is another differential route most people have not considered yet. Which is the Subaru Sti LSD Differential. It is the same housing as the 260z's differential housing so no modifivation are needed to mount. Althou the 260z u joints are not compatible the sti axles can be modified or you can order cv axles made. I have a stock rb25det on a 260z and have the subaru Sti 2008 diff and axles on my car. The great thing about these differentials is that they're not decades old and dont cost you a limb. I got mine with about 5,000 miles. I dont know how much is it in km and im too lazy to do the conversion. Ill take pictures tomorow and post them up for you.
  10. The trottle cable could be a lokar 48 inch and can be cut to size which is great if you want to tuck it in somewhere. It cost like $50.
  11. The Z was my first choice. I originally had the stock l26 with a 3 speed automatic mated onto it. I changed it to an rb with the 5 speed gearbox, best decision I've made. One thing you'll need to get used to is the stiffness of that cars ride. Even after I put in new bushing, struts, and springs the car ride is pretty darn stiff. I second jackeoster on the ride experience.
  12. If anyone scrolled through the photobucket pictures you will see that he crashed the car. It was so aerodynamic his brakes failed. I gues too much of a good thing is a bad thing. I was also reading on this forum that the teardrop shape is the most aerodynamic, and since his car was shaped that way I do believe the guy was not lying about the 80mpg car.
  13. If you want to retain the stock manifold and weld a falnge to it why not get a q45 flange to rb25det flange adapter. Cut the rb25det flange off the adapter or vise versa. That allows you to use either a q45 throttle body or a rb25det trottle body. just an idea. Also i second the lokar kit. I bought the 48 inch kit and cut it to length. It can be bought online at either the jegs or summit racing website. I made my own bracker out of alluminum bought from home depot. I used stock mounting holes for the bracket that are to the right of the hoop pin socket.
  14. I was wondering what should I do about my situation. I found a major vaccum leak in between where the flange of the brake master cylinder and the brake booster make contact. I did this by sprraying water and shure enough air bubbles did appear. Should i just tighten the bolts; apply some sort of sealant? Any suggestion would be great. Below is an image found on google. I have post it just as an example of where exactly my leak is coming from.
  15. I thought that you could only import 1996 r33 and above gtr's and gts-t's. I think r32 and r34 skylines' are still illegal in the United States.
  16. Spoony is starting to become my favorite newbie. Although im a newbie myself '__' Feel free to post questions on the rb forums for I have just finished building my own 260z rb25det and have fresh information still in my head. Glad to see you chose a califronia z since most z in california are rust free. Also put in mind that the 260z has an open differential. You should put and limited slip differential on your list.
  17. So Jake what you saying is the image on the left is incorrect and the one on the right is. Right?
  18. I should add that these are not the most recent pics of my car but the only ones I have right now on my computer.
  19. My car is not as fancy as your rb26 build. I'm enjoying your build thread
  20. I was wondering how much did the tuner charger you for what he did? Just wondering since I will need a tune soon. Does he tune the Rb if I have a regular S2 ecu or do I need to add the Power Fc on my list?
  21. Well I have a stock rb25det. To me the throttle is a bit laggy. Even thou it I have lag I do not need to press the gas pedal that much in order to cruise. The car basically has a will of its own and i have'nt tried full throttle yet. The Blow of valve sounds to me as if it is vented externally but I know its reciculated. Mods: Q45 throttle body Greddy style intake manifold Aftermarket fuel regulator Intercooler is a 4x24 with overall with of 31 Subaru STI 2008 Differential and axles Rb25det transmission surge tank fed by a summit racing fuel pump engine fed by a bosch 044 fuel pump 3 inch exhaust with a resonator
  22. I am new to having an rb25det in a S30z I was wondering what are other peoples thoughts on the same set up. For Example, throttle feel, boost lag, acceleration, how low is it? Since I started this topic I'll go first.
  23. You were right the wires are switched including the diode that is wired in.
