  1. Don't get me wrong. You can purchase a ready made bracket for the driver side mount. You just have to visit marches website.
  2. Check out MARCH PERFORMANCE. they make what you are looking for. I had one hooked up before I switched it over to the passanger side for my Super charger in stall. I'll put a link to my photobucket account so you can see some of my old pix of the a/c install. I think they are on the 5th or 6th page. http://s1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa431/fastzcars/
  3. Thanks TurboMeister, Thanks for your answers, just a couple of more questions. Did you use a carb service to modify or did you buy a new carb? How much was it? and why did you go that route?
  4. Hi Turbo Meister, Thanks so much for the suggestion I'll keep that in mind! I hope to make enough to "Hang the hoops" One question i do have for you. How thick is the material you used for your carb box/hat? I remember one time in Irwindale that your car had a hickup and damaged the box? Did you ever find out what had happened? and what did you do to eliminate and or reduce the potinial damage again? I seem to also remember that you made a clear plexi box?
  5. Emerald, I did redrilled the stock steel bracket and made some new standoff's out of some aluminum round heavy walled tubing stock. FYI the carb hat is a spectre part. but I fear that it's too thin for blower use. I have to try to copy it out of thicker 1/8 to 3/16 stock. The Carb hat is only 2 1/4 inches tall. I had just shy of 1 inch clearence under the hood.
  6. Just a last update on the Supercharger install. It was alot of work, but I got it to al fit under the hood folks! I'll be hooking up a meth injection setup in a couple of weeks and start the tuning process after that. wish me luck guys!
  7. I had the same issue with the two center sparkplug locations. I too bought the ceramic boot sparkplug wire set. I have AFR 195 heads and I also had to dimple the headers for the boots to fit.
  8. Now that's what I'm talking about! Thats just mean looking Mike! Love it. That third to the last shot looks like it's about to pounce on anything that comes' out of the woods!!!
  9. It sounds like it's not shifting into 3rd gear. t400 is a 3 speed and top gear is 1.1 ! Id slap that 700r in and enjoy the overdrive.
  10. Hi Mike , the anticipation is killing me! :D I've been keeping my eye on your build since you started! great detail work.
  11. Wow mike. To put all that effort into sorting it out only to sell. I too can't wait to see the finished car!!!! If you can, would you mind posting a video of the beast?
  12. that question is a little open ended. without more info. it depends on ALOT of factors. We need more info on the motor to even give you an intelligent answer.
  13. It seems that the initial timing is a little low at 4 degrees. I'd try to reset that up to 8 to 10 degrees and see how that works. I's also clean the spark plugs and or buy some new ones, they are cheap, and retry. Also worn cap and rotor's and spark plug wires describe your experiencing. The "big cam" idle could be just ignition miss.
  14. Oh my goodness mike! Those wheels look sick! . I plan on running those same flares, what are the offsets on those bad boys?
  15. Hello all! I just found out that Irwindale speedway is closing it's door's as of today! One of the last southern California's drag strips. The only one left is Fontana, and they don't have a test and tune night like Irwindale did! Man I hope someone one step's up and takes over the venue! It would be a shame to let this happen!!!! It's very sad day today for me!
  16. Hi Emeraldlion, I'm in the process of installing a Vortech V1-T trim SC on my 383 first gen block. Im using an older universal carb kit for the SBC that I bought from a friend. I had to make a new alternator and A/C bracket to relocate the a/c from the driver side to the passenger side. As well as modify the bracket by drilling new mounting holes to lower the SC and rotate/reclock the supercharge outlet from the top to the bottom to clear the inner wheel well. I'm still in the fabrication stage of plumbing the carb to the SC. Im finding it difficult to fit everything under the hood. I'll be changing and or modifying the carb box to try to get it to fit. I've included some pictures.
  17. I had the same problem with my MSD billet distributer with the split collar. It took a long time for me to find that darn leak!!! I used a very thick o-ring that took the place of the gasket/shims that just fits snuggly around the case of the dist collar.I then placed a small amount of silicone on the split itself for insurance. I hope that helps. I'll try to take some pictures tonight.
  18. I think you have no choice but to trim the airdam/bumper. Place duct tape on the area you need to trim and that will reduce the paint damage. What material is the airdam make of? fiberglass or urethane? You can use a dremel with fine tooth blade to cut with minimal damage. Did you roll the fender lips?
  19. These guys have done it to a couple of cars that I know of. Give them a call. http://vildinimotorsport.com/i/Vildini_Motorsport_Mission_Viejo_-_Home.html
  20. Hello there Turbo Meister! It's been awhile since we last saw each other! Yah, I finally saw the light and decided of forced induction! I do want to try to keep it all under the stock hood. Ill try lowering the crossmember and see if that's enough. As far as i can figure i need 1 inch. Im so close now I can taste the track!!!!
  21. No kinding bjhines! This Vortech has fought me every step of the way NOT to be installed !!! I had to fabricate and or modify every bracket thus far. It's like building the car all over again. But hey thats hot rodding! Right?
  22. Just an update guys! I installed the SC and I am waiting for the 10 rib serpentine belt to come in. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the huge Vortech carb box to fit under the hood? Any ideas?
  23. well guys after looking through the web for 2 days straight i finally found just 3 pictures of the bolt holes that I was looking for! I can't believe that the SBC been in production since 55 and I could only find 3 pix? Well here they are just in case someone needs this info later. The march diagram is kind of what I want to do, but the A/C is too low and will hit the passenger frame rail and the motor JTR motormount. So I need to mount the A/C higher up , almost to the same height as the alternator. the last pic is my pattern for the Vortech supercharger. wish me luck guys!
  24. Hello gents! hopefully you guys can help me. I'm in the process of installing a vortech supercharger and I want to make an Air con/alternator bracket for the passenger side. I tried the cardboard and hammer method but the accuracy is not that great. I looked on the web and couldn't find any machine drawings of the accessory bolt holes for the SBC heads! does anyone know where I can find some? Thanks!!!
