  1. Austin Hoke's Z is my idol. I've been admiring it since before I even knew anything about it, or even owned a Z. My dad and I always refer to it as "that blue Z". I think the first time I saw it I was a freshman scrolling through google images at school.
  2. It's a very true statement that most people can't grasp.

  3. I'm guessing that price does not include the $400 GC kit? And I know this has probably been asked a 1,000 times but must I have camber plates? I'm not going to lower the car too much, (I don't think) just enough to fit the 17 inch wheels snug under ZG flares.
  4. Thanks for all the feedback. Any other suggestions for lugs? They need to be thin to clear the wheels, 60* acorn seat (correct me if I'm wrong) and tall is good so that I don't worry about scratching (Rota RB's).
  5. Buying car parts from Ebay is always a gamble. Usually you win but with slight modifications necessary. Unfortunately, for me, today was not one of those "winning" days. I bought a set of Rota RB's 17x9 and 17x9.5, and have slowly inching my way to getting them on my car (Having three 4-to-5 lug spacers and adapters with stripped bolts on the car is a problem). Wanting to save a little money and get a bargain, I turned to Ebay for the new lugs I need for my new wheels. The shipping was FAST, got to Memphis from LA in 3 days. Anodized red, looked flashy but what I wanted. Until I tried to put them on the car, *spoiler alert* I get what I paid for. The anodized paint flaked off immediately upon touching any surface harder than a mildly firm pillow, the manufacturer forgot to thread these all the same size and most of them wouldn't fit on the lugs, 23 out of 25 to be exact. Some of them it seems like they decided to change the thread size halfway through. Worst of all they were made of ALUMINUM. Not just aluminum, but probably aluminum recycled from melted down Honda's and East German Trabants. Any suggestions on what I should get? I would like a set of red ones. Flashy I know, but something has to make up for my paint job Just nothing made of sheet metal, wood, tin foil, tofu, or plastic.
  6. You got ripped dude. I didn't know you could send them in to Techno Toy to get them done?? Where else can you send them? I've been wanting to do a coilover conversion for a long time but the welding and cost/installation of camber plates has kept me from it. Do I really need plates?
  7. What's the advantage to such a small wheel?
  8. Words to the wise, if the car gets rained on putting vents or screens in the inspection lids is bad engineering practice. Rain will corrode the battery, this same problem plagued the Fiero.
  9. Upgrading to Rota RB's When I bought my 280z, the fool who owned it before me spent $500 on a set of custom aluminum spacers. The spacers turned the car into a 5 lug so a set of infiniti rims could be mounted. The bolts for the adapter were cheaply made hexagons and now will either have to be drilled out or cut off with a grinder. Fortunately I got one spacer off only to discover new problems. 1. The lug nuts from the infiniti wheels don't fit. I know I'm going to need "tuner style" slim lugs, but I don't know the seat type (pretty sure it's 60d acorn) 2. The Rota RB's don't fit snug on the lugs, the hole in the wheel seems to be larger than the lugs, is this normal? Will they line up center with the lugs or.... I have nothing to reference since the car has always had these stupid spacers since I've owned it. I can get pictures if needed.
  10. Got the rubber put on the RB's, thank you girlfriend for taking them to the shop.

  11. Pulling the motor head tomorrow. L28E Rebuild.
