Sorry I wasn't more clear... I meant as far as the glass is concerned. I'd worry about it breaking (especially at any mounting points you decide to create) if not supported and mounted correctly. Stock style struts will hold it fine.

It's an awesome idea, looks really nice to have that all smoothed out. One problem I see is that's a lot of glass to support that way. Keep that in mind when figuring out fasteners, hinges and latching for the glass.

I like the idea of an abbreviated name that can be spoken as a word. IRBZ? <--- not a suggestion, just an example. How about some ideas, then maybe a vote for the final incarnation of it?

Good times, thanks for putting this together guys. I got to go for my first ride in a Z on saturday with Zero. My Z is the only one I've sat in (with no seats and doesn't move). Hopefully it's enough motivation to get me ready for september. I'm going to visit the Z this weekend to get some work done. There were a few of us outcasts that left our Z's at home so I didn't feel so bad. The ride home was much more fun than the ride there in traffic. I almost ran out of gas because I decided to take "the scenic route". Then a suzuki Gsx-R came up and revved at me. I won... Twice. There were 2 dudes on it which was almost as embarrassing as getting beat by a car... twice. I guess that doesn't help their power to weight ratio. I a

Make sure the purists know not to come if they have weak stomachs... I welcome all Z's, but some folks over there seem to get very upset when the idea of a HybridZ comes up. Edit: If they are reading this thread, they now know.

I thought the same thing... and I agree with you in some cases. But... I just went back and read my first 20 or so posts. Just to make sure I wasn't as dumb as I scoff at others for being. I was generally uninformed, and some of my questions may have been a little noob-ish. But they weren't plain dumb, unreadable, and redundant. Some cases do get out of hand, but for the most part, these questions are getting the responses they deserve. Asking questions like "how do I put a motor X in my *insert year here* Z" Are ridiculous to ask when the site is already pretty much dedicated to the question. You are never more than 3 clicks away from that answer. I got a question of mine thrown in the shed a few weeks ago. No big deal, Grow thicker skin. Personally, i'm not buying one. I DO, however appreciate the effort to bring a bigger selection of products to the community. I think everyone is being way too hard on someone who is obviously far from just pulling molds off of a dented piece of sheetmetal. Guys, It's a work in progress. Yes... "THE HOOD" is a slightly arrogant title for what stage it is in right now. I just hope everyone at least appreciates the effort people put into trying to make new parts for our cars... It's true that the function and design are not going to work for everyone, but it's as simple as that, no need to try to kill someone's project because you (and I) don't care for it. Keep up the work, keep us updated. Some people do appreciate it. Edit: Like Bartman said, I would focus on building the first one, then plan on making a few copies based on demand if you are pleased with it.
