2 numbers were mixed up in his original e-mail, he e-mailed me a scan of the title. Looks good, insurance, and carfax pick it up. Now I guess i'm going to buy a carfax membership. Unless someone wants to run it for me...

I'm buying an 87 Porsche 944 tomorrow, I called my insurance company to get it legal to drive home. The guy e-mailed me the vin# so I could insure it. The insurance company said they needed the vin again because there was a problem, I gave it again, and they were ok with it, and it came up as an '87 944 in thier system. So it's insured, but I decided to do a carfax because the word "problem" set off a red flag. Carfax tells me it's an invalid vin#. So do all the other sites (which are mostly powered by carfax). Right now i'm very wary of this car... any comments, suggestions as far as finding out if the car is legit before I go there tomorrow?

The z3 gives me the miata feeling I got... You know, the "nice car, mom know you're driving it?" look. The 350Z/G35 are cool cars, but Heavy, heavy, heavy. My daily right now is a 1990 300zx. I hate how fat it feels. And i'm not old enough to drive a vette, and have people believe it's mine. As was mentioned before I need a swapped s2000... Nothing too crazy, about 300whp should be good. My last car was a turbo miata. My favorite to drive so far. I love the monster miatas, but I'm looking for something a little nicer than the miata base. If I were going to spend the cash that way, I'd probably do an oldschool mini with an integra GSR swap (minor mods will net you 220 Hp)... Power to weight is unbelievable, 220HP 1350 Lbs 1. 2008 Viper: 3,400 lbs / 600 hp = 5.667 lbs/hp 2. Ford GT: 3,400 lbs / 550 hp = 6.182 lbs/hp 3. 2006 z06: 3,130 lbs / 505 hp = 6.198 lbs/hp 4. 2006 Viper: 3,400 lbs / 510 hp = 6.667 lbs/hp 5. Super Mini: 1,350 lbs / 220 hp = 6.13 lbs/hp 6. s2000: 2,800 lbs / 240 hp = 11.67 lbs/hp Imagine how quickly you'd be at the dodge dealer with your new viper wondering why you can't shake a mini...

I think you're not seeing it for it's full potential... C'mon now... V6 Engine!! Just add some wood paneling, and it's a show stopper... Like choke on your hotdog and fall to the ground showstopper.

I know it's tempting, And i could have a wicked Rx-7 for that pricetag, but but like I said I need 2000 or newer. Also with the Mr-2 turbos, they were a favorite of mine... but for some reason the pricetag is stuck at around $8k... a little much for an mr-2 IMO.

I'm thinking about picking up a used car this spring. I've wanted an s2000 since forever, but since getting serious about this purchase and researching, i'm dissapointed in the power gains without forced induction. Criteria: MUST be: 1. Sells used for Under $20k with less than 50k miles. 2. 2000 or newer. 3. 200+ HP stock with room for reliable improvement. 4. Manual Trans Prefer: 1. RWD 2. Convertible, T-Tops, Targa Top. 3. Under 3000 Lbs Any ideas? Or is the s2000 still my best bet? I'm still set on the s2000, i'm just hoping to widen my eyes and make sure i'm not passing up something more potent for the same amount of $ Thanks for any input. BTW, I know Cheaper platform + cash into Mods = Best bang for buck But i'm tired of wrenching on my daily drivers. I need new(er) car reliablilty.

To everyone saying that they need s130 testing to donate... It's your money, i'm not saying you have to donate, But... I have a 240z, even though it does apply to my body style, I already have my body setup, and it won't be changed based on the testing (because it's done, and i'm broke). I'm not getting any real benefits from donating, other than knowing i helped a (very) little bit in a project that is if nothing else, some serious bragging rights for our favorite site. and it will be nice to know just for conversation... With that in mind... let the pennies roll

I just tossed the spare change in my paypal account into the pot. Everyone can afford to throw in the 5 bucks collecting e-dust in their paypal account. You can't even take it out of an atm if it is your last $5 anyway... These guys are putting up so much of their $ and time already. It's the thought that counts more than anything. Plus... A lot of not much adds up to a little something.

I've been thinking about an SBC in my z32 when this motor dies... z32 s32 ??? The guys over at zcar dot com don't exactly have too much good to say about it though... I wish V8 z32's had the support we have here.

Yes... Hot Wheels. I realized they were a different company after I tried to find it on the matchbox website. I saw the other thread, and I know everyone knows they exist. I'm just offering my extra 3 to anyone who can't find them or had someone else from here buy the supply out in their area... So far it looks like i'm stuck with all 4. Not that I mind keeping them.

Nothing much here, 1 widebody front fender is molded on completely, front bumper is mounted, and the other fender is riveted in place waiting to be molded. I've been too busy getting my new "daily driver" running. 1990 300zx Na 5 speed. So far i've done: Fan clutch, radiator, thermostat, waterpump, and now i'm waiting on another waterpump because after 25 miles my brand new one died on the way home from inspection (at least it passed). After that I mounted a Taurus electric fan instead of the clutch type fan. Hopefully after the waterpump is done this time it will be done complaining that it needs new parts, and i'll get back to work on the Z.
