Negative. i leave the coating to your jurisdiction. i dont really coat them. when u get them back u can choose wha to do with it . i really dont know how your cover started to rust. i dont think aluminum rusts... but thats just me. ive had a l28 cover laying around for a year and a half outside in my backyard and all it seems its like its all DULL looking whiteish kinda. but i session with my polishing and itl bring it back to life haha.

Greatk work im jelous honestly .... haha well in all honesty im getting sort of irritated at the fact many honda peeps spend all kinds of money just to gain 5 hp on their civics. and even then they say WE (nissan guys) are SHISTY aka greedy and it bothers me enough to have to admit that in reality. WE ARE so im taking a stand and saying F-THAT! if i will make what... $10 off each piece.... but help other nissan guys make their rides look better. the outcome is mroe nissan rides looking a hell of a lot better than other brands. and some carne asada burritos for lunch for me. THANX for the + feedback guys. much apreshiated. and YES! i had practicly all polished aluminum engine. noticed i said ALUMINUM.. not CHROME... " JUST IMAGINE HAVING THE SHINE OF CHROME UNDER YOUR HOOD WITHOUT AL THE EXTRA WEIGHT, LET ALONE THE CHROME TURNING YELLOWISH BECAUSE OF THE HEAD" .... sounds nice huh i just dont do covers. i do other parts too. if you can ship it.. i can polish it haha and of coarse... if you can PAY for it
  5. id charge the same. altough i know they will be a liiiitle harder. cuz of the valleys and grooves. hmm... normally i dont give advice that can hurt my work... but heck. il say this much. sand it down with watersandpaper of the finest you can get a hold of. so you get rid of the imperfections, oil residue thats stuck to the cover through out the years, power wash it, and finish it off with MOTHERS MAG. ALUM POLISHER CREAM. itl have a nice shine. highly recomend mothers..... BUT.. i can guarantee it whont look NOWHERE near my work hahahah try it out broskiez... polish one as much as you can. and get one done by me and take a picture of them together and notice the difference hehe

HONEST TO GOD!.... if somebody shows me a link or someone with a 280z CARBON FIBER GOOD (with the grillz) im down to buy that ♥♥♥♥... i want a 280z carbon fiber hood with the grilz for my Series ONE Z... that would look BAD ASS! i say you guy smake these. i got 5 on it. that youl have buyers left and right for those hoods
  10. lol trust me.. the 280z i bought years ago was not a fairytale itself. i rebuilt that baby forn ground up. i bought it for $500... you can imagine the condition it was in. AFTER I WAS DONE WITH IT IT LOOKED LIKE THIS THE RED 240z i also made a project out of and handed it down to a cousin who got his drivers licence as a gift
  11. haha i have to agree with you on that one. we do have plenty on the west coast. the problem is finding the "right one" ya dig i was never picky when it came to my past Z's cuz i just wanted to learn about them and pass them on or sell them. but now that i know you can take a part a 240Z and a 240sx. with a 10,12,14, and 16mm wrenches.... lmao im getting picky for this last one and looking specificly for a 69-early71. so i guess thats why its taking longer than expected.
  12. As of right now i am STILL rigidly looking for a 69-early71 240z in ANY shape. i dont mind dealing with rust. i have in the past and have done a pretty good job restoring them. Well Let me know if anybody has or knows of anybody selling one for cheap. or donating it. im located in SOCAL san diego

  14. Wow. i havent been in thi swebsite in a little while. However the first thing that got my attention was THIS particular titled thread. SR20VET powered 240z. LET ALONE. the engine upgrade to SR21vet wow. my cousin is going sr20det on his car. but frankly i wanted to lean to something slightly different. so i leaned toward VET. ive read a few posts about um but wow you rproject seems amazing props for that. I hope you dont mind me asking but im really REALLY interested in getting my 240z running VET STOCK motor tough. just fo reliability. Do you have any tips on how to put the engine together or how you did it ? since those engines came fwd and awd. from what ive read. Great project man cant wait to read the updates. p.s " Or if you know any shops on SOCAL AREA that could profesionally do the swap in for me and for round what price $ would be awsome too"

Im looking to taking in a 240z to start a project right now. so if anybody has or knows of anybody wanting to get rid of their 1970 or EARLY 71 240z let me know. im located in SOCAL. (san diego) i had two of them completed them and gave um away to two of my cousins. now im looking to start one to keep for myself. trying to keep the Z running in the family haha. so again. if anybody has or knows of anybody giving away or wanting to get rid of one hit me up. id highly apreshiate it.

Yeah the thick white with red cable has power 24/7 so thats a no good. hmmmi tested the wires that goto the switches on the steering wheel area IE lights. wipers etc... and there was no wire that i needed. apparently my wipers are not working.... so idk if that is whats causing the wire i need to not work. hmmm..one more dayof search and il just take it to the electrician..... im fed up with this lmao but any last minute help would be greatly apreshiated

Alrighty guys i have this issue with the LAST cable i need to install on the autometer light i installed on my 71 Z. the ONE wire i cant seem to find for the job well done is a POWER ON cable thal stay on in the igrnition key ON position but will loose the power in the ACC and OFF position. i searched under the dashboard aroudn the cd player, behind the tachs, in the switch itseld and i cant seem to find a cable i can use.im fatiged, my fingers hurt and i just had to ask for help once and for all. im not wasting $ for one stupid cable on the electrician so im hoping you guys can be of some assistance. WHERE can i find the cable i need, WHAT color(s) is it Any help would be apreshiated. thanks

  19. Yeah for shureid be down to meet at the Q one of these days while my Z still has plates. its about to undergo special maintenance ( sr swap) so its gonna be sitting for a little while. and id like to show it off a bit BEFORE the transformation. so yeah Id be down for race legal.

Pshyea i personally am in the same page as YELLOW im planning on turboing my 71 240z and ive writen and writeen pros and cons on these twon engines the L and the SR and well its pretty much of a B@#$ to find parts for the L28ET specially if any of the sensors go bad ECU. MAF etc.... good luck finding them. now... an SR... people have SRs left and right nowadays with the discovery of the engines BALLS also take in consideration the major difference in these two engines WEIGHT! the Z is a known car not only for its looks but for its feather like WEIght compared to other cars. so think about it.. lighter engine with MORE power... or heavyer engine with less power. ofcoarse the cost of these to are also a big chunk of difference but i say the SR20det is worth every penny. I myself am going SR i thought about BR20det for being inexpensive but thought about the difficulty of locating parts IF anything were to happen. so i stayed with SR.. now i jus tneed to know WHAT i need for the swap besided the full swap as in mods. motor mounts etc etc etc.
  21. Damn its so sick to see there are a few guys here in SD with S30's yeah i agree these guys are pretty rare here in SD.. thats why i decided not to sell mine. I go to race legal at the Q pretty often. altough i have to admit.. ever since i blew my 5 speed tranny i stopped going as often due to my 240 having a 4 speed... its pretty shamefull to drive my car on the highway and be passed by all these cars... sher il take more than 70 % of them off the line but HIGHWAY + 4-speed = NO GOOD but yeah i agree we should have an S30 meetup at the Q sometime if you guys are down? i jsut gutted my car since im PLANNING on putting an Sr20det on it.. altough im just starting the search for info hunt on WHAT I NEED for it besides the full swap ( engine ecu harness tranny) i went to the junkyard the other day with just a 10, 12, 14 mm comb wrenches and came out with a LSD 200sx turbo (old school) differential ( ive heard their rare to find and amazing for drags) but its jsut layin in my garage. i couldve taken a 300zx turbo engine but i was like... naaah im saving the $ for the SR.. so yeah just thought id give some of u guys a 411 so hopefully u guys cane give me some advice on that area with the SR and the 200sx diff.. would it bolt up with the sr ? P.s This is my 1971 240z (before the gutting)
  22. yup yup i was impressed it seemed pretty straight forward and common sence the screw was painted black too so it comoflouged with the shock tube no wounder it took me so lon to find it haha but i got it done now... NEW Q What is the best shock for these cars OVERALL longivility and performance. like better turning reaction and lasting shocks. also how do you know if ur shocks are good. i press mine down and its failry easy to puch them down ans they come back up really slowly. is that good ? how is a NEW CHOCK supposed to be? ( sorry first time changin my own shocks. NO MORE PAYING MECHANICS FOR ME!! )
  23. cool well good news is o got the shocks off it was'nt as hard as i figured. i sorta missed a screw on the shocktower that sorta lockes the shock to the shock tube on the arm but il give u some pics anyways here they are E ENJOY
