  1. apparently i must have given that part of the harness away when i gave the car away for free... (damn!)... i just grabbed whatever was hooked up to the MAIN fat harness haha. any clue as to how to recreate that aspect of the wiring. i CAN definitely handle that. i got wire and the terminal ends for it. just need to know what wire would go where. P.s.... VCM vacum control modulator? im guessing... if so are these two necessary? i deleted the EGR and smog crap on the swap haha
  2. i AM using that chart you are mentioning but as i mentioned on my post... it is NOT the same as an 83 harness...(must be for an 82) my wire coloring codes are different and not exactly in that order what-so-ever. I just want to prevent crossing wires im not supposed to, cause a short and fry something you know. it would be counterproductive. the plug 1 mentioned claims green and brown.. yet on mine plug 1 is green and 1 is BLACK. look at the pictures i posted and look at the diagram you're mentioning and tell me if plugs 2 and 3 are even close as well.... haha. im no electrical wizz BUT i do WANT to learn do to it myself so although i know it may be a pain i want to take care of it ,so if i run into something similar in the future i know what the terms mean and what i need to do. when i read fusible links i thought the directions/how to meant put a fuse connecting the wires to 12v+ wire. from what i read on your post it seems they are two completely different things. what is meant by fusable links if you dont mind me asking?
  3. GREAT!... another bump on the road.. so after further analyzing charts ive come across for the wiring and how the 82's 81's are kinda supposed to go. i notice that the harness on the driver side of the engine bay is missing the little T looking clip for the IGNITOR under the coil. i love taking pics cause pics say 1000 words. so as u can see... this is all that came from the ignition aspect of the harness when i removed it.... a black thickish wire that (seems)to be a ground. the clip for the AFM (MAF) and two white things with two wires each that i have no clue where they go or what they're for. but nowhere lies the T clip for the apparently since it is missing i now need to MAKE and or RUN some wires for it. anybody know how im supposed to run these two and to where?
  4. no they're not the black plugs that go into the actual ECU itself if thats what you're asking. theyre the white plugs coming from the EFI harness. p.s on the plug #1 it is mentioned from the write ups that BOTH these wires need to go to 12V power wires. is this meaning a wire where theres ALWAYS power ? if so what kinda fuses do i need to put on these 12v yes. but amp wise?
  5. Hey guys im aware there are alot of write ups in regards to the L28ET swap; however, the schematics and the pictures of the ECU wiring harness order and where they should be connected to dont seem to be matching mine except for Plug #1... and even then the brown wire is BLACK on mine... donor cars info: 83 280zxt (manual) I made a layout of the 3 plugs fromfrom the ecu harness that need to be adapted/wired up to the 72 240z i have. i also have the redcover 280zx haynes manual however the 1982 zxT EFI harness page (252) does not match my plugs or wire codes. on the haynes manual plug 3 only has 6 cable boxes available. But on my 82 harness there are 8 and more wires... sad to say there was no 83 harness page on the manual.. and being ignorant on the electrical aspect of the swap yet smart enough not to do things i dont know about without some consultation i figured id post it up and see if i could get some guidance. hope u guys can be of some help. Also it would be nice to know what wires i WONT be needing and the ones i will need WHERE in the 240z harness do i need to connect them and how. 82 wiring plugs from the haynes manal pg 252 MY 83 280zxt harness plug layout
  6. hey there guys on the market for a STOCK non meddled with non egr intake manifold.. i know alot of peeps shave the ports and what not. im just looking for one that is either a spare or came off a stock car with all of its components. im doing an L28et swap on my car and il be running it stock for the moment. just want the non webbed non egr mani basically. located in SOCAL. SAN DIEGO shoot me a price and post PICS please .
  7. Hmmm i became REALLY intrigued by the ingenuity and functionality of this... however... wondering if BLACK PEXI GLASS or something of that sort couldve worked just as well and easier and less expensive to modify onto.
  8. MOTION! ... +1 on the looking for a 240z one. lol
  9. Guess who's Back ;)

  10. TWO of them would fit YES.. and the length is fine as well. even ebay cheap ones would work BUT!! you have to do some cutting to remove one of holes area. itl be bolted down two bolts on each side. still better than having none. instead of a complete circle it would look more like C shaped
  11. any new SOCAL 240z's up for grabs for dirt cheap ? no need for motor or tranny. CLEAN title. 1972, no REAL BAD rust issues. will be using the car for a project turbo.
  12. naw man hell of a drive for a car he no longer has haha still looking around i guess.
  13. burn! well.. keep that GF as well... if my girlfriend didn't want me to sell my Z.. i would have to admit SHES A KEEPER

  15. Nobody donating or selling a 72 Z in SOCAL for cheap ? i got my swap ready but got no shell
  16. DAMN! i want to jump on that so bad! but idk if itl cost alot to tow it over and register it her ein cali .. PM me pics and car info please interested. good looking out bro.
  17. no i was saying i CAN polish one if i shave the letters. im asking what do you use jw to polish it WITH the letters still on? because i have tried it before but could never really find anything that i liked, ya kno

  18. celica inners ? enlighten me yeah i got the donor zx turbo pump still on the motor in the engine while i do the engine build up.
  19. i see most people go for the subbie forester rack in here. Anything bad or MORE of a pain to fit in the Miata one in there? what year miata are used on the 72 Z's ? il be wanting to get my 72 240z with the L28 turbo motor power steering. (got a bad wrist) wich one of the two racks would you guys recomend ?
  20. some more advice :/ damn dude please tell me you didn't do all that work in the super tight garage. i saw the video" which was sweet btw" and i don't see you you can open either door to get out of the car man hahaha. the build up was sweet! just wish there was more of a walkthrough info for those who are doing their turbo swaps too. LIKE ME! like what turbo are you running? What fuel rail is that ? I WANT ONE! got any advice for me bro ? so far i still got the bare block sitting on the donor car.
  21. hey man, we talked b4 about polishing valve covers. i was wondering, i've never polishe the letters, i always went with the smooth shaved look, how hard are those to do. and what all do you prefer to use? jw

  22. check it out guys i Just got this Beautiful show quality TURBO VC done for ATTYOUNG911 ... which i am SURE he will love. what do you think ? here are some pics. somehow the BEFORE (stock) pic was lost from my cellphone perhaps he has one he can post. as for me i cna post the AFTER pics ENJOY So clean you can see your face on it and NO... its not chrome ...
  23. +1 harbor freight tools are normally Taiwan made. and (no offense) but their warranty policy aint that great either. craftsman has lifte time which is good enough for me if these bastards break. but of coarse... i would rather them hold up. or even better... NOT have the need to use them in the first place. is there anyway to increase my ods of ONT breaking a head bolt tough. like is there anything i can do prior to trying to remove teh bolts that MIGHT loosen them up a bit or something ? like warming up the bolt wwith a torch then hitting it slightly with a hammer on the head or something ?
  24. im thinking of removing the head on my L28et. to further inspect and clean valves, piston tops etc etc. would you guys recommend that ? cause im feeling rather pessimistic about even touching those bolts after reading this thread lol . what would you guys recommend i do BEFORE i try to remove the head bolts to prevent breakage if anything at all.
