  1. what about custom firewall? make ur own. as for heater and all that. make it too? just a thot
  2. clutchkicking is a fast way to break stuff but i have no ebrake. i started practicing fainting but my setup is too soft. clifton, plz explain more indepth cuz im on a budget
  3. so 225 14 all around? might go coilovers if i can get the money ive practiced clutch kicking alot lately but my clutch is starting to slip so im taking it ez for now. the stifining i was talking about was welding a couple crossmembers in teh front/back will check out drift bible
  4. I have decided after alot of thinking to finaly make my 73 240 into a drift car. i know that alot of people have problems with this due to the chance of wrecking but i didnt get this car to baby it. so yea. my build idea was this: tokico struts AZC springs 3.2L stroker(still undecided) solid rear diff mount clsd(nismo?) msa swaybars 225 70 14 in the front 195 70 14 in the rear(maybe 17s) braced front chassis anything that i missed/should change?
  5. this is the bassic idea. weld there, and both tires will ALWAYS turn at the same rate
  6. anything above idle is technically boost. as soon as the needle starts to move, you are pushing some
  7. they hold up for strait line no problem, granted the welds are good. but in the corners, you can say goodbye to your tires after a while. i say DO IT!
  8. Wont the change in pipe size to a bigger cause pressure drop?
  9. 1. check for spark 2. check for fuel pull a plug and crank it w/o the coil having power. if u smell gas, you have fuel.
  10. fixed it. was the kanooter valve! :D:D:D na, put a set of ngk's in it. NO MORE MISS!. the plugs didnt look too bad cept #5, it had yellow on the electrode. what does that mean?
  11. there was very little corrosion. cleaned it. today i thot i had a stuck valve or something cuz it ran like POOP. opened the hood, and saw my #6 wire was off. still misses to 2k tho
  12. Well it was all fine. ran great. retarded my timming a tad and i started getting a VERY bad miss. so i went back to my old timing, still misses. it seems like a vac leak but i tested ALL lines/gaskets w/ carb cleaner, no change. i thot it mite be wires cuz when i played w/ my plugwires, it went in and out. new wires, no help. what could be causing this?
  13. yea theres a place that sells them. i believe its PICK N PULL. <3 couldnt resist. yea, search is key.
  14. we shoudl do the same for efi/carb. i hate trying to find stuff about carb and all the efi stuff comes up.
  15. Ive thot about this before. iw as thinking about getting a beater 280 and doing it
  16. wait, where DID u put the fluid?
  17. This is gonna b a fun thread. imma try to find the scetches that i have from when i used to get bored in english(no wonder i failed )
  18. In theory it does. in reality, you wont get much more out of your car. It will wind up a little faster as wit5h knifeedging.
  19. so when the power dropps it triggers it?
  20. THose dashes are hard to come by here. thats y i wanted to know if a 280 would fit
  21. So if i run a different wire for power, my tach wont work?
  22. Yea im planing on having the metal bent by my HS welding teacher and having my neighbor weld the end caps on it. i plan on getting MSD lazer gauges for it. tach, speedo, temp, oilpress/temp, ect... i also plan on using a nascar style ignition switch. just run the power to it through a relay and run that off my alarm just for safety.
  23. I know that its hard. i just want the mesurements so i can get a rough layout of the dash. its gonna hang above the steering colume. also, does a early 280dash fit a 240? prolly not but worth a shot.
  24. I plan on making a sheetmetal racing dash this summer for my 240. The problem is that i have to be out with the old and in with the new in a weekend. I was wondering if anyone could give me the dimensions of their metal dash or even the stock dash.
