  1. Tonight or early toamrow im gonna get the car on a rack, change the ujoints and tighten the mounts on the tranny, motor, and differential
  2. alignment right, bushings still in OK condition, wheels balanced. if i accelerate through 60 in 3rd, no shake, same acceleration in 4th, bad shake
  3. The whole car shakes under acceleration. its not really noticeable in 1-3 but in 4th the whole car shakes VERY severly. even crusing in 4th is very shaky. could this be bad ujoints, loose differential, or bad differential mounts?
  4. No, i was making a statement for why i want a 6speed. is what i put in my other post correct? because with my 4speed, im at almost3k when crusing at like 60~
  5. Im looking to do it because i want to use the car at the track, but at the same time, use it on the street and get decent milage. i want short gears for good acceleration, but tall 6th gear so i have good top end and ability to cruise at freeway speeds w/o being above 3k.

  10. I want that really tight gear ration. shifting alot really dosnt bother me. I drove my friends evo9 MR around and its kinda fun going thru 6 gears.
  11. So sr trannies will bolt up to a L6? i had actualy thot about a custom bellhousing and put a benz 7speed but way too much money for it
  12. I was wondering if someone sells a gearbox that would bolt into the bellhousing for the l24. If not, is there one that could be made to fit the back of the block and have a custom driveshaft made?
  13. yea. i think it was well worth the conversion. i dont get the black soot but it does stumble if i sit at a light too long or if im in traffic, maybe cuz 1300idle and running a little rich(prolly why my mpg is such S***)
  14. personaly ive had bad experience with su's. efi is better than all of them but the dgv conversion is so simple compared to efi.
  15. I personaly am happy with my dgv's. might have just gotten a good set or something cuz everyone HATES THEM

If u have to use the choke constantly, its prolly not too rich. maybe too lean. my engine used to bogg wen it was wya lean. fuel pump maybe? turn the mix screw all the way in, back them out 1.5 turns. thats a good starting point with those carbs, also check fuel pressure, 3psi is the right pressure i think, if ur high or low with those carbs, it wont wanna run right.

  19. ooook. i figured it might be a common ground. what woudl be the best way to get to the ground without pulling the dash? its my DD so i cant relaly pull the dash out now.

In my 73 240z my oil pressure and water temp gauges will suddenly start to drop. they make it about 3/4 of the way down and start to come back up. then they fall. happens when im driving. if i hit the dash below the gauge it will work for about 30 sec then start doing it again. coudl this be the guage betting ready to go out?
  21. Figured as much. So would a JY engine be a bad place to start. im on a budget(School payments) and need a motor to work on. i intend on MSnS, boost contol, the whole nine yards. Rebuilding the engines, and maybe even the turbos wouldnt be that big of a deal.
  22. I was thinking about going to the JY and pulling a full swap and rebuilding it. also, if i got a vg30de and put the turbo mainfolds on it, woudl this work?(Last resort)
  23. why woudl i need the full clip? couldnt i make my own mounts and place the engine so the shifter lines up and have a driveshaft made?
