  1. I just swapped a '72 240z hood onto my '77 280z, worked like a charm.
  2. I could supply some nice black oxide coated studs for $35/8. Anyone interested?
  3. Sparky is getting the set he has bored out slightly. Once all the changes have been made, it comes back to me for final inspection, then it's off to the cnc shop to have the whole batch made. We're making progress, don't worry
  4. WOAH! I'm loving that color. I just decided to repaint my Z, something along the lines of a sunset orange. Maybe we need to talk about me stealing that color
  5. Mike, you stole my product idea!
  6. Your car looks great! The paint is very nice. As a matter of fact, this is exactly the look and color I'm about to try to achieve for my 280z.
  7. Thanks Davy. I definitely plan on keeping the butterscotch interior. I don't think I'll find brand new pieces like I have again in this lifetime, so it would be a sin to change it just for paint color. I am tempted by the ease of a turbo, but the supercharger idea still appears to me. The manifold will be the trickiest part. I've managed to con a few friends into helping with the prep. Orbital sanders for everyone! The car is relatively rust free, except for the one spot under the battery. I'm also putting on a new 240z hood, which will eliminate a little bit of work.
  8. I've decided to paint it myself, time to read every single word on the net about garage painting...
  9. I wish I was breaking stuff like that!
  10. WOW! Now to make a few phone calls about procuring certain items....
  11. It's finally insured, so I can take it beyound the street in front of my house! Of course I'm already wanting more power. Things on my shipping list. Garrett T3/T4 Turbocharger (?) Shaved No EGR Intake Manifold from a ZX 60mm Throttle Body 280zx turbo exhaust manifold 360cc injectors Billet fuel injector rail 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust Undecided brand of intercooler Megasquirt I'm still looking for a good shop in Houston for my paint.
  12. That's the way the texture is with high-pressure spray on bedliner. You might be able to achieve a smoother finish with low pressure type bedliner...
  13. You look shocked, Mike http://www.coldfusionracing.com/280z/280z_007.jpg'>http://www.coldfusionracing.com/280z/280z_007.jpg http://www.coldfusionracing.com/280z/
  14. Things hit a bit of a roadblock. Justin is no longer able to take measurements for the flanges. I'm having a head shipped to me, so that I'll be able to measure/test fit everything myself. Probably be another week delay.
  15. Looks great! Bedliner is the answer to all of life's problems isn't it? I did the same thing with my Dash.
  16. IT FINALLY GOT THERE! I was worried my post office lost it, like so many other parts I've sent through them. Different caliper brackets aren't a big deal Sparky. They are the cheap part of this kit to make. If we need to produce 2-3 different versions, so be it.
  17. http://www.coldfusionracing.com/280z/ Now the damage to the clear coat can be seen quite clearly.
  18. We already have the design done, and we're about to get 20 units made. We'll be selling them for cheap to help out the Z guys
  19. I'm working on getting some nice 1/2" steel exhaust flanges made in the next month or so...
  20. We're just waiting for the stuff to get to Sparky right now. Soon as he gives the okay, production will start.
  21. This is why you work on the interior first
  22. So between school, the cnc projects, and work I haven't had much time to work on the Z. The little that I have done is mostly on the interior, installing new panels and such. Tom gave me almost a whole new 2nd interior in perfect condition. Now if only the outside was as good..... I'm stuck on what color to paint it. Of course it would be easiest to go with the existing copper/orange color. I'm tempted to go with a dark red or deep blue though. Problem is, I have the butterscotch interior which does not match either of those well. What's a guy to do? Over the next month, I'm hoping to buy a Mercedes supercharger off ebay and work on a custom intake. One of the big points is that electromagnetic clutch, which will allow me to disengage the whole system at the flick of a switch.
