I have been looking at using a Supercharger as well, but like Daeron said I need to put it on the Other side cause living in Florida the A/C Has to STAY! I already have stand alone Efi, and it will be forced thru our 45mm ITB's, with just a set of 6 26lbs injectors. What size Motor is the Supercharger from? 2.3ltr? Kevin

Well Thanks Joel!!!!!!!!!!! We had someone interested in the 2JZ Motor as well! We would like to see if the Plenum Dimensions are close enough to work with the 2JZ motor as well if someone has a Manifold laying around that's not in use? We would pay the Round Trip shipping if we could borrow it for a while? Kevin

Hey Guys: The RB26/L28ET ITB Project has been revived, thanks to SuperDan here on Hybrid Z! Now it will have a new Twist and I'm sure he can answer these questions better than I can! Here's a CLUE: Alcohol! We now have the Injector Bridge in stock for Normally aspirated applications as well! Kevin

I guess we are feeling pretty good with 45mm ITB's, with 1 or 2 "Lets here the trumpets sing" thrown in for good measure! With 18 degrees of timing it runs to 6500 rpm real strong! Kevin -

Thanks for the feedback guys! THe 25 we got was the best the testbed had ever seen, so I'm sure we could have leaned it out a liitle more! Still not bad when ever now and then open it up to hear the Triples Scream! LOL! Kevin -

Hey Guys that's what we thought!!!!!!!!!! The 5 hour trip up to Road Atlanta and back! Out on the Interstate running 75 to 85 MPH, we got 25.3 and 25 .1 MPG!!!!! My Buddies 510 with L20B, header and 32/36 Weber only got 27 MPG and that was with the DAMN A/C running the whole time! We were running the Precentage Range of the base fuel MAP real Lean! Not to the Point of lean misfire, but you could feel the floor board and see engine temp gauge climb, but never had a Misfire. with a 160 degree Thermostat the engine would run in the 180 range according to the Laptop and Data Logs. This had nothing to do with our ITB's just the Mapping of the ECU, we thought it was extreamlly good MPG for a set of Triple Side Draft ITB's. We are running the stock EFi Heat shield between the header and the ITB's, and both are painted with VHT Header Paint that seems to be WELL STUCK now! Shame the Company Injection Logic did not make it to Market........ the software was killer! Kevin -
Can some one gives us some MPG Feedback Please? Like to know what others are getting on a bone stock L28 with EFi, and what someone is getting on a relatively stock L28 with Triple Webers? Interstate driving running 75 to 85mph with A/C going would help too! Thanks Guys!

Do they need a few Extra Hands with setting up? What night is BBQ? Kevin -
Anyone headed to the Walter Mitty races this weekend?????????????? My good buddy and I always go he has an old Dime! We usually Camp over close to turn 9! See ya there! Kevin Extrudabody

Well we will make old Porsches sing a new tune toooooooooooo! Last 911 ITB set-up I saw on Ebay went for $2700 used! Soooooooooooooo! Kevin

Sure By All Means as long as it is filtered Air! Kevin

Hahaha! Well No Flipping intended here, just trying to help! Just do a Search for Clippard Vacuum control Valve and use the 10/32" size as they have the largest port for a small valve, do not want them to look like Poo! They will only add about 200 to 300 Rpm to your idle so you will have to synchro the Blades too! I have a Set of 45mm Throttle Blades we Picked up from a supplier that we never intend to use, if you want them cover our cost and shipping and they are yours! Send me a Private Message and we can chat! Kevin Extrudabody

Wiring????????????????????? Hahahaha! That's why the good lord above made Beer and Friends, cause when you have one the other will get done! They are simple FWD 18" wheels I bought of ebay with Cheap Nankang Tires! The Adapters are 2" thick with 4 on 4.5 to 100mm! It uses tuner Lug nuts! It's a simple test bed and we wanted it to look nice! It's not a Race car by any stretch of the means! Be at Road Atlanta this weekend if anyone cares to see the ITB's! Kevin

Mindcrime: Understand you completely and if a Dealer who specializes in both the RB/L Series motor wants to step forward then a complete package could be a reality, unfortunately we decided from the begining Extrudabody would be a Throttle Body only Company! If you are capable of building a Stroker Motor you should be able to handle the requirements of building a Efi system! Kevin

Quote "I made the vacuum port 1/2†diameter. Any opinions if this will be large enough for power brakes and an idle valve?" 1/2" is Plenty for the Brake booster, but the Each Cylinder has to be fed with Equal length Tubes from the IAC Valve itself, if not you will have the closest cylinder to the IAC Valve pulling the most Idle Air and once again another Balance Issue! Another thing you may want to consider is the BellMouth to AirHorn ID Ratio! Most consider it overkill if this is over 1.5 to 1 so a 45mm ITB would only need a 67.5mm Bell mouth! Also the angle at which the ITB Runner hits the Head port! If it can not be straight at least they all need to be the Same Angle, one can't be straight and 1 be angled without having cylinder to cylinder flow issues! Kevin Extrudabody

Guys: Take 2 years of R&D to Heart they have to be seperate so each one can be adjusted, no 2 cylinders are going to pull the same amount of air! You can still go the route your taking if you incorporate Air Bleeds to bypass the plates and this gives a finite adjustment needed! By incorporating a Vacuum control valve from "Clippard $8 to $10 each" with a Brass Filter on the intake side and positioned down Stream of the Throttle Plates you can achieve the balance you need! The Tell-Tale sign is what we call "Spitting", where 1 cylinder is leaner than the rest! You have only .002" total tolerance on the Blade to Bore as well! Yes I like Tinkers! Hope this helps! Kevin Extrudabody

Well I agree with you guys on the 180 rolled horn Lip for a Normally Aspirated Cars and we have that shape of Airhorn in development, but mounting Filters to them is tricky hence a trade off! We have also seen the same results as Ron Tyler has described with his "Plenum with Protruding" airhorns that show High and low pressure points inside the Plenum! We can't help but think that boost will only amplify these spots and that's why we chose the Plenum design with the flush mounted air horns! Kevin

Peter Brock Needs our Prayers!
Accurate Injection replied to Accurate Injection's topic in 6 Cylinder Z Forums
WW: This is Good To Know! Thanks! Kevin -
I didn't know until today, but Peter Brock was in an Accident Jan 20th and has several broken bones and one is a complete femur Break, but is healing and needs our Prayers! See emails below: Kevin….I’m not in the best of “condition†:0) at the moment (see attached), so I’m not planning on doing the Mitty. Much as I like Road Atlanta and friends in the Atlanta area I don’t expect to get there until at least Petit Le Mans. Hope to see you then. Best, Peter PS How’s the reaction to the “new†510 going? I could sure get behind this program if Nissan likes it! A note to give all of our well wishers an update. Sat January 20th, while shooting SCORE’s season opening off-road race in Laughlin, NV, Peter was hit by an off-road vehicle that went off course. The upper part of his right leg was hit by the front tire of the vehicle, he did a 360 degree backward flip landing face down in the dirt and his right foot/ankle were then run over by the vehicle’s rear tire. Other photographers in the area and the SCORE rescue team were onsite within seconds. Thanks to help from Mark Post of the Riviera team and a recommendation from the Herbst family of the Terrible Herbst team, Peter was taken by helicopter from the regional medical center to the well-respected trauma center at the UMC (University Medical Center) in Las Vegas. His injuries involve primarily that right leg with a broken femur a couple of inches below the ball and socket of the hip, a break in the tibia just below the knee and a broken lower fibula and ankle. Surgery from 1am-4am Sunday involved placing a rod down the length of his femur and installing a plate with screws to reconstruct his lower leg and ankle area. This is capped off with a cast from his foot up to just below his knee. The surgeons are very happy with how everything aligned. In regards to the most explosive area of the ankle they said that once they secured the bone pieces to the plate with the screws they couldn’t even see where the breaks were anymore. As you already know from the description of the accident, we are incredibly lucky! this is the primary extent of his injuries. His hip and pelvis area are fine. His left leg is fine. His back is fine. His arms are fine. His face, neck and head are fine (with the exception of some road rash on the left side of his head/face which is almost entirely healed). To those who’ve been asking about my experience, let me share that I was shooting in the infield when the accident occurred. The immediate response of the ambulance leaving the infield led me to suspect someone outside of a car had been injured (an unconscious driver in a car is not quite as apparent to onlookers as an unconscious photographer on the ground). I knew Peter was in that area and my anxiety rose when he did not respond to my calls to him on our 2-way radios. A few minutes later Peter’s voice came over the radio I was still unconsciously clutching in my hand: “Do you read me?†Upon my confirmation he relayed: “I’ve been hit. They’re putting me in the ambulance.†His voice was normal, clear and sound… and music to my ears. It’s a call Peter doesn’t remember making but I continue to thank him profusely for doing it, even if unconsciously. The call allowed me to report to the officials at the start/finish line who it was that had been injured and allowed them to get me in the ambulance. When the ambulance doors opened to let me in, there was Peter on the gurney chatting away with his hat on his head (yes… although the hat did not take the entire 360 degree trip, it lives and will be back soon to a race track near you! most namely the 12 hours of Sebring race). I’ve been able to stay with Peter the entire time and as always it’s an incredible pleasure and honor. In addition, Peter’s oldest son, Ian was at the race, along with his fiancée Nikki. They immediately spotted my “focused†actions in the infield and have been by at our side ever since. They allowed me to focus on Peter as they took care of everything else such as retrieving his equipment at the track, retrieving our rental car from the track and packing up our hotel room in Laughlin as I went with Peter to the Vegas trauma center. They followed us to Vegas and allowed me to take some needed breaks those first couple of days when otherwise I wouldn’t have left for even a minute. We are so blessed to have you and these great people in our lives. Peter’s been in great spirits and we think we’ve discovered a great new talk show skit called Stupid Patient Tricks (if you haven’t heard of Stupid Pet Tricks before let me explain the Stupid refers to the Tricks and not to the Patient). Peter’s repertoire of stupid patient tricks grows every day and we should soon be ready for the talk show circuit (I say “we†as some of the best tricks require a partner). So as you can tell, we’re having a good time together, even under these circumstances. Going forward, a femur break requires no weight be put on it for 2 months. In a couple of weeks Peter will be sporting around on crutches which will carry him thru that time period. After that he’ll gradually be able to increase the weight he can put on the leg. In the meantime, he’s really enjoyed catching up with friends on the phone (so feel free to call him. Good hours while he’s at the hospital are 6:30am to 9pm). There’s no internet access at the hospital so I’m sending this from a nearby Starbucks. It’s my first time online since the accident and I’m not sure when I’ll be online again. We want to thank everyone for their calls (and I’m sure there are e-mails waiting for us too) and the beautiful flowers which have begun to fill the hospital room here in Vegas are a real bright spot. At one point today Peter exclaimed: “They really do make the room look nice.†It’s all greatly appreciated! And last night we got a special treat as we got a call from Daytona where in a meeting of the Road Racing Drivers Club they announced Peter had been inducted into the club as an honorary member (a decision that was made prior to the accident). The crowd was still clapping as the call came into Peter’s hospital room. Peter’s immediate response: “What an honor!†We’ve started working with physical therapy here at the hospital and our goal is for Peter to be discharged Saturday at which point we’ll take a flight back to Seattle late that afternoon. He can’t wait to get back home and back online to all of you. I’d say he’s also anxious to get back to racing but he’s never left. His first call Monday was to an editor regarding a story idea and most, if not all, calls since have been racing related. He’s so totally committed to this sport and amongst other things it’s been great to see a young driver he’s believed in the last few years come to the hospital every night to visit him… every night. And you should see the light in his eyes every time this young talent enters the room. He’s thrilled to be able to give his “all†to this sport and we’re very lucky it wasn’t taken to the most extreme of meaning this last weekend. We want to thank all of you for your thoughts and well wishes. It means more than you can possibly imagine and we’re thinking of all of you too. Best regards, Gayle & Peter

Is Anyone still Intrested in this as a group buy/project? If not? We need to pull the plug as we have quality vendors quoting daily on the base Plates and Plenum construction parts, we do not want to waste their engineering time quoting something that will not be built! If so? let's move forward with a Plenum design that will work for both the RB26 and the L28e and Turbo motors! The RB26 and the L28E & T with a Cannon have different #2 to #3 and #4 to #5 cylinder Bore spacing! The RB is 103mm and the Cannon is 104 or 102mm can not remember at the moment, but the ITB to Plenum plate in the drawings I did will work for both! The plenum attachment plate can easily be changed to accomendate the better flowing Plenum design of Austins! I have not secured a quote on it's Fabrication yet! One thing is head to Shock tower/master cylinder Clearance for the Skyline, Z-Car w/rb26, Z-Car w/L28 Just need to know where this project is going one way or the Other! Thanks Kevin
