Thoughts on a 57MGE Toyota Hybrid
Accurate Injection replied to Accurate Injection's topic in Toyota L6 Forum
Thanks Fiddy! Kevin -
Hey Alex: I know you want to run a Cold Air Plenum like these Drawings, but If all the Plenum stuff falls through take these drawings to Mick Argeauio! He is located on Daleville Avenue in the POS Building 200 yards Past hiway 84 on the left as you are headed to Clayhattche, he has no sign up ! Tell him I sent you and you need a Plenum, if he balks tell him I will get Debbie to put those cataracts back in his eyes! LOL! Mick is a Guru with 30 plus years Mold Building! Don't mention Carbon Fiber or he will throw you out of his shop! He can build you a Fiberglass replica of these Drawings and then build you a Fiberglass Plenum or Breather Box! If you want it to be carbon Fiber you will have to ship it to some Carbon Fiber guys and they can cover it for you! By the way you are 1 of the 10! Bet you did not know that did you? Thanks for signing up! Kevin

That's some nice Work Ron! So is Austin's! Kevin

240Hoke: #1 We do not tell Lies and we pride ourselves on being who what we say we are, here's the Quote: click for details Celtic Industrial Services, Inc. Rating: 5 5 325.0000 USD 325.0000 USD 385.0000 USD 385.0000 USD 1,925.00 USD 1,925.00 USD Comments: My name is Mark Runnels and I am with Celtic Industrial Services, Inc. in Augusta, GA. We are a full service engineering company with complete machine shop, tool & die, and fabrication capabilities. W...(more) #2 if you want to build those Plenums for the group then please by all means do so! If you want to give them away please do so! We never wanted to be in the Plenum Business, or custom parts business! Extrudabody had rather leave this door open for Custom parts and install Shops to use our ITB's! We were just trying to build a solution to the original test bed which needed a Plenum to work! Sincerely! Kevin
-
Thanks Alex: Be nice if we could get the group buy off the ground then RB26's, L28's turbo and N/A guys could use it! Unfortunately the way our Company is set-up it takes the 10 orders to secure a good enough price to make the Semi custom Parts economical! Case in point we've had Vendor Quotes as high as $395 per plate, and of couse some cheaper, most of those were from some far away lands, no offence to any one outside the USA, but we wanted to be a "100% Made in the USA" Parts company from the start!! Forgive me if my American Pride is Showing! Kevin
-
I agree! Also on any engine with 1 ITB per cylinder the tolerance of the butterfly to bore is critical! You have to maintain a .002" total tolerance or it will not idle! A Big block Chevy only pulls 7 CFM per cylinder at Idle! That's not alot of AIR! Hope it helps! Kevin
-
Anyone ever build a 7MGE 3.ltr bottom end with a 5MGE Head? I have several of these engines, but none have good 7mge heads! I know from looking at the heads it will not flow as well, but wonder what compression ratio, HP, and Torque numbers the combination might make? Here is an idea for ya or what we call "Runner Length Tuning" for the Normally Aspirated Guys! And Yes......... they would all need to be the same Length! 3 50mm ITB's has to flow better than 1 60mm right? Hahahaha! You can add 1", 2" or 3" on each end of the Extrudabody ITB's to tune the runner length or to work around some clearances in the engine compartment! This was a simple Machined Base Plate "With no fancy CNC work" to show what can be done with the Extrudabody Concept! Kevin
-
Well honestly most of the complaints come from the Wheels! Most say aren't you a little old for those??????????? LOL! They are 18" with Rubber bands for tires! Kevin
-
Well Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! Some love it and some hate it I must admit! Some Just have no clue what it is! Kevin
-
I feel his Pain! I had a Cherry 510, with not a spec of Rust, with SR20DET in the Car, and complete Race suspension! Had to let it go! Kevin
-
We did a slight redesign on the Plenum Base Plate that will now allow the Group Buy Package to work on both the RB26DETT and the L24-28 Turbo and the Normally Aspirated Motors! The L series motors will need a Weber or Cannon Triple Manifold, and the ITB to Manifold base Plates will be different than the RB26's single Base Plate! Below is the Plenum Base Plate and Plenum cover flange before cover is Welded in place!
-
Guys I redesigned the RB26DETT Plenum Base Plate so Now it will work for L28 Turbo's as well! If you use a Cannon or Weber Manifold they have a 102mm c to c bore spacing from cylinder #2 to #3 and #4 to #5, the RB26DETT has a 103mm C to C. Now with the redsign it will work for both! So if any L28T's want to get in on the Group buy it will be the same Price! Thanks Kevin

Hey Paul: Yes it's American Made and will be for sale here! 1 ECU that has numerous Ignition Options, but I am not sure if it has 8 seperate Ignition Drivers or Not, so Sequential Ignition control may not be available! With that said you can Map several points in 3D and then hit interpolate and it builds you a 3D Ignition MAP based on those Mapped Points! Knowing the Owner it very well may do Coil on Plug for V8's! Time table? I am not sure! Last Cost Retail amount I heard will put it in the Economical Class of ECU's! Name and More Details needs to be Addressed by it's Company Owner! Sorry I can not be of more Help, but it is not my ECU Company! Kevin
-
I would love to see Pictures of the set-up! Kevin
-
Oh I agree with you, in the software I sent you it has the orange zone showing caution for Idle below 1600 Micros or 1.6 Miliseconds, but when you can refine that opening time above 1.6 milisecond into 1000 increments then resolution is inhanced making it lots more fine tunable and a Headache too! Make take you up on that! Kevin
-
Hey Z-ya I agree with you 100% @ a stock Level of 150hp it would take 55lbs/hr or larger to flow enough fuel! Fuel Distribution is a another issue too! Stock motor SU Replacement is what we designed it for! Damn it looks good though don't it? Hahahaha! Those are 45mm with the SSS Manifold Bored and Blended to aid the additional air flow! Kevin
-
Come On Z-ya! I have 2 Throttle Bodies and a Rail waiting on ya! Hahahah! The 6 Injectors would be better than 2 for an SU application, but 2 extra mounted in the Throttle Bodies could prove useful! LOL! Kevin

Hey Z-ya Private message me with a regular email address and I will send you a Copy of the Software! It's a wonderful Tool for what ever ECU you are using! It was "I repeat WAS" a Company called Injection Logic! It was an American Company funded by a Tiawan conglomerate to build the Hardware/software for an EMMISSIONS based ECU and is running on several OEM brands in China now! I was there almost from the beginning! The Software is based in Excel and it's just to complicated for street and performance use, but it had to be to pass the Rolling Road Euro 1 and Euro 2 Emissions drive cycle test on a VW A2 Chassis, with a 1600 engine, where they took the single barrel Carb off and mounted a single injector throttle body! Running only a standard O2 Sensor! Z-ya, reading some of your posts you should know big a feat that was and a testiment to how fine the resolution of Computor control is needed to achieve that! That's why it's in Micro-Seconds and not Mili-Seconds! Software and Hardware will resurface in the near future, I have that on Good Authority! LOL! It will have the same Resolution, it will program itself to what ever A/F Ratio you choose, after a base program is downloaded, then set those MAPs to Hard memory. Has Single Fuel Line Control, it can also raise Fuel pressure under boost or when ever needed, built in Wideband control! Also has built in dash boards with instrumentation for your Woody with Woodgrain, Carbon Fiber, Brushed Aluminum, or Chrome for your dash mounted 6" x 6" Display! My Good friend and Buddy Bought into the Company and will be releasing it in the Near Future! Thanks Kevin
-
Private Message me your regular email and I would be happy too! Need to send you the Injection Mode Deffinitions too! The Program has 6 modes that fire injectors every spark event, every other spark and so on! But it will help you any way! Kevin

Well the First Set would be through our App Development Fee see www.extrudabody.biz on Page 2 under Throttle Bodies! think you will like it what you see! We are footing alot of the cost for a willing partner/Car, but it has to have some catches to that car and person! Read it carefully! www.extrudabody.com unde App Developer! To qualify for that you need to be fluent in tuning, have some Fabrication skills and be ready to go ASAP! For the Group it would be $1600 each set! and that is for everything! 6 ITB's Anodized Clear 1 ITB to Manifold Base Plate Anodized Clear 1 ITB to Plenum Base Plate with Recessed Horns Clear or Red Anodized 1 Plenum Bolt On Clear or Red Anodized It will be Sheet Metal Fabrication Similar to the one shown! Hey Alex: I can send you the Base Fuel Table, it's in Micro-seconds, but it can be interpulated to Milli-Seconds! Idle is around 3500 Miliseconds! Fuel Pressue is 43 with just a stock Toyota FPR suspended from our Fuel Rail, the slide mounting system and an extra Rail Strut makes a Hand Mount for a Fuel Pressure Regulator! Love the Interior, and I think of Recaro as the inovator of the Sports Seats! Good Looking car man! Kevin

Guys we would build this RB26DETT bolt on Package if we could get a group of 10 pre-sold! If anyone wants to take the helm on this let me know! Pictures and information is in this Supporting Thread! http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=755862#post755862 Thanks! Kevin

Here is a Better 3D Model of the Extrudabody RB26DETT Conversion! If we could get a Group buy of 10 Pre-sold we would build the the entire set-up as pictured. It would be a bolt on to the RB26DETT manifold! Trust me it would be very economical! Few Advantages is has over Stock: 1. Throttle Shafts/Plates have a total cross section of 6mm "When Open" compared to the stocks 9.5mm, when Closed 8mm vs 9.5mm stock. This will free up flow in the ITB itself! 2. Makes Stagged Injection Easy for High HP Street Cars! 3. Can be upgraded to 50mm ITB's at a later date, if needed/Wanted! 4. 4" or 100mm ID Main Plenum Opening. Will flow more than a Q45 90mm TB Set-up if the motor can use it! 5. Recessed Airhorns in the Plenum! 6. Injectors can be mounted over or Under the ITB's! 7. Completely Anodized Clear and RED for the Show Crowd too! 8. Cool Factor above and beyond Stock Set-up! Note: 3 ITB's are shown with injectors pointed up and 3 are Down to show how they can be Mounted! Kevin

This Photo shows the same Torque Curve with the same Fuel Pressure with "Make Believe" 10lbs/hr Injectors, reduced static Pressure of course will do the same thing! It shows the MAPS Caution Points and the 100% Duty Cycle in RED! Also if you look at the Orange in the MAP it shows caution points for Stable Idle! Hope this helps someone! Kevin Extrudabody
-
Alex: If you send me a Torque Curve VS RPM Plot, I can Plug it in a Program we have that allows us to see where the "X" Injector Size @ "X" Fuel Pressure will be at Caution/Yellow level = 80% and Danger/Red = 100% duty Cycle! We can then Reccommend running X size injector at X Pressure to give the Best Idle while giving you the SAFE 80% Duty Cycle at WOT! We can do this for 1 Bar, 2 bar, and 3 bar MAP Sensors! On the 2 bar and 3 bar sensors we need to know what the boost is at what RPM. For instance if your car is Lean at 6000 rpm by only 500ms Pulse width, and 5 to 8lbs of fuel pressure will eliminate this, then there is no need for new injectors, but without this knowledge some think that I need the next size larger Injector when it is not neccessary! We can do a Print for you to see, it relates back to Kpa as well! It does CC's/Min to lbs/hr, it does lbs/hr @ Xpsi as well! Good tool! Kevin
