  1. Just spoke to a professional tig welder. He said that he could add metal to those two holes if you like, but he also said that it would make the metal weak since it is heat treated. I'm willing to do it for you but it's your decision to make.
  2. Is $350 cheap enough? or $200 with cores They come in stock 4 lug bolt pattern 4x114.3, as well as 5x114.3 bolt pattern.
  3. Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for your input. We just started making these stub axles. If you think it is "easy" to drill just 4 holes then go ahead and do it. You'll soon realize that drilling into steel that has been heat treated is not an easy or fast task. Also we broke a $375 set of drill bits while we were trying to figure out the best way to drill these holes. Not to mention the fact that you need a CNC machine to make the bolt pattern centered. That stuff cost money. Either way I understand your point of view and that's why I will drop the price to $349 or $199 if you send us your cores. What do you think now, is the price fair? Here is the updated link to our website http://www.silverminemotors.com/datsun/datsun-240z/suspension/5-lug-hub-stub-axles-for-240z-260z-280z let me know if you have any other questions. Who would be interested in buying 5 lug stub axles made to withstand your V8 or other high HP S30? If there is enough interest I could start making them soon.
  4. We just started selling these CNC re-drilled rear stub axles. These rear stub axles come with a 5x114.3 and 4x114.3 bolt pattern. This will allow you to use 5 lug wheels on your S30. Many popular cars like the 240sx, 300zx and 350z have the 5x114.3 bolt pattern. You will need to get your own wheel studs. They are stock 27 spline 280Z stub axles with 280z companion flanges. They will work with any 240Z 260Z and 280Z axle. The 240z does not have the same spine count as the 280z but since these come with the companion flange they will bolt into your stock 240z axle. Price is $300 plus you send us your original stub axles and companion flanges as cores or $450 without cores TO ORDER GO TO OUR WEBSITE: http://www.silverminemotors.com/datsun/datsun-240z/suspension/5-lug-hub-stub-axles-for-240z-260z-280z Let me know if you have any other questions.

  6. This is Edan, the owner of Silver Mine Motors. I just wanted to announce that we have just come out with a front brake upgrade for 1979-1983 280zx s130. Here are some details. to order go to: http://silverminemotors.com/Stage-4-Front-Brake-Kit-for-280zx-Stage-4-Front-Brake-upgrade-Kit.htm Price $659 280zx stage 4 front brake kit description This brake kit includes: 1. Enormous 4 piston calipers (43mm pistons) 2. 11.8 inch CNC drilled, diamond slotted, vented, Zink plated, and machine balanced rotors 3. DOT approved custom fabricated steel braided brake lines 4. Custom fabricated T6061 aluminum spacers 5. One pair of custom fabricated 1018 alloy steel brackets, with Zink plating to prevent rusting 6. Ceramic brake pads 7. All the needed hardware As you can see this kit is a complete kit. There are no other parts needed to complete the installation. Installing is very easy, and can be done in less than two hours. The 4 piston calipers you will be getting have the biggest pistons available (43mm). These calipers are also available in many local auto parts stores, so replacing them is not a problem. The vented slotted and drilled rotors are professionally built with CNC machines, and zinc plated to prevent rusting. The steel braided brake lines are custom made to fit this brake kit for easy installation. They are also government DOT approved just like the stock brake lines that come on new cars from the factory today. So you can believe they will not have any problems. The aluminum spacers are made of the highest grade of aluminum on the market T6160. These spacers are very light and extremely strong. The custom fabricated brackets are made of 1018 steel. They will never rust or corrode. Just to give you an example of how strong they are, the stock brackets off most cars today including the maxima brackets have a hardness level of about 13. These brackets have a hardness level of 17. They are not hardened on the outside, so they will not snap. The metal that was used to make these brackets is made in U.S.A. and is certified by two reputable American owned alloy companies: Nucor cold finish group, and Fry steel company. Aluminum brackets are as strong as twigs when compared to these brackets. The brackets also come zink platted to prevent rusting. The ceramic brake pads are built buy centric brake company. They are very quiet and smooth. If you don't want the brake pads you can subtract $20 from the final price. I personally have this brake kit on my 280zx and it made a big difference, my car now stops on the dime. Over all it’s a great brake kit that will make your Z stop faster and better than you could ever imagine. It has bigger pistons than the $800 brake kits Willwood sells, so you do the math.
  7. Ok I just fixed the website options. It should work now. Thanks for your support.
  8. OK guys the brackets have been made, and the kit is ready to be sold!!!!!!!!!!!! the sale price is $659. to get more details or place your order, go to our website. here is the link for our 280zx front brake upgrade kit. http://silverminemotors.com/Stage-4-Front-Brake-Kit-for-280zx-Stage-4-Front-Brake-upgrade-Kit.htm let me know if you have any questions.
  9. my condolences to you and your family. good luck with everything. i did not get a chance to fit any wheels over the kit, but i'm pretty sure it will require a 15 or 16 inch wheel. probably some 15's will fit and others will need a thin spacer. and all 16 inch wheels will probably fit. these calipers can also be shaved down up to 5mm to make more room for wheels.
  10. haha we lost our shorter bolt so we had to use that longer one with all those washers for the picture. so no you won't need to use all those washers. i knew someone would ask about that.
  11. Good news guys! Yesterday I tested the 2nd Prototype bracket. This bracket fits perfectly. I will order enough material to make brackets for 10 brake kits. Once the 1080 cold rolled steel arrives we will begin mass production! I’m hoping to be able to offer the kit for sale in 4-5 weeks. here are some pics from yesterday.
  12. The second prototype bracket was done yesterday. I still haven't seen it. I'm hoping to have time to do a mock up and see if it works.
  13. it has already been installed on the complete 280zx shock tower. i'll take a picture next time.
  14. update: OK so I've been working with my CNC guys on this 280zx brake bracket. we have a ruff prototype made. it works well. holds all the parts. the clearances are a bit off so we will have to make a few slight changes to the CAD file and make another bracket. i'm hoping the next bracket will be perfect. if so i will start production of them. here is a picture of the first prototype bracket
  15. the CNC shop is still working on the bracket design. shouldn't be to much longer. i'll keep you guys updated.
  16. wait until i have the brackets ready to sell before you place your order. first i will make a single bracket and do a final test fit. once i see everything is perfect i will produce 10 pairs. then you can place your order. this whole process should take just over a month. if you guys want to buy the kit in separate parts i will have all the parts in the kit sold separately on the website silverminemotors.com once the kit is available.
  17. ok guys i just decided to make 10 pairs of brackets. so that means there will be 10 kits available in around 6 weeks. i'll keep you guys updated...
  18. yes they are drilled to two bolt patterns: 4x4.5 (stock 280zx bolt pattern), and 5x4.5 (which is 300zx, mustangs, ect.)
  19. here are the calipers that will be used in the kit. here are the rotors. here is the entire kit installed Rob i still haven't got an answer for you. i'll try by today.
  20. i actually don't know if this kit fits the stock wheels. if i had to guess i would say some 15 inch wheels and all 16 inch wheels would fit, based on my experience. i don't have a stock rim to test it. some our other customer have remedied their rubbing problem by shaving some metal off the front of the caliper face, or adding a 1/4 spacer. with this kit you can safely shave off 5mm of metal off the face of the caliper. maybe you could first get a single bracket and caliper to test fit it before you buy the kit. Rob. i'll get back to you with an answer tomorrow, i just have to calculate the setup time and other factors. 1. QWIKZ (Rob) 2.(POTENTIAL)- abes 3. josh280z - in the future 4.aarang 5.blue destiny (in January) 6.feifongwong3 (if they fit stock wheels)
