Ground Control Coilovers reviews
Silver Mine Motors replied to Rimal310's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I agree with Jon. It all depends on the spring rates and lengths you go with. If you want to drive on the street get lower rates, and for track use higher rates. You said you weren’t going to change your ride height. If you’re going to be driving on the street you might want to go with a Tokico ilk kit. It’s cheaper plus it comes with progressive springs, which is much more comfortable on the street. It’s stiffer than stock but meant for aggressive street use (which it does well). Link to Tokico ilk suspension kit Why do you want to go with coil overs anyway? Were will you be driving? street or track How much to do you want to lower your car? How wide of a tire do you think you want to have in the future? -

Konig wheels?
Silver Mine Motors replied to GarageRatt13's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I would put either 215/45/17 or maybe 225/45/17 series tires. -
I would also like to give David (1 tuff z) positive feedback not as a seller, but as a customer. He bough a rear brake kit from me recently, and he has been a pleasure to communicate with. I can tell that he is a good person at heart, and I would love to do business with him again. One more point for David! Maybe you, Bartman and I can meet at the motorsport show and we’ll both buy you lunch. Also just about every person on hybrid z has been a pleasure to do business with. You guys are a nice crowd, and it rubs off on everyone so keep up the hospitality!

Silver Mine Motors replied to ORANGEZ's topic in Trouble Shooting / General Engine
I remember seing pre made hard brake lines in pep boys. You might be able to buy one and bend it to your specs. I would check there first. -
Right hand drive conversion
Silver Mine Motors replied to a topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Since you've done this conversion I’m going to pick your brain. Here are my questions: 1. could you give us a list of ALL the parts you had to get from a rhd car to convert your lhd car to a rhd car? 2. Did you have to do any modifications to the body/ frame of the lhd car, or did all the parts bolt on perfectly? I guess that’s enough for now. We’ll get into more detail once we get answers for these. Thank you very much in advance!!! -
Hey i just had that same problem this past week and I also though it was the shocks but, when I put the car on a lift it was my sway bar mounting bracket. The bracket broke were it holds the sway bar the to frame of the car. I would check that and just weld it back if that's the case.

hey i just remembered that i have a pair or 280zx or 240sx (same thing) rear rotors. they are also brand new. i did mount them but they were never actually used, just mounted to see clearance. i am willing to sell them for $65. i could put them in a flat rate box for around $15 with the brackets included. here is a pic of other rotors that i sell that look the same but are not the ones you will be getting. the zink coating is the same look, and the drilles and slottes are the same. http://silverminemotors.com/images/1203920046415-1887062752.jpeg

Fuel Pump not working
Silver Mine Motors replied to Tony Hambric's topic in Trouble Shooting / General Engine
there are two wires going to your pump (ground and positive). the positive only turns on when you are cranking the motor. so that means the wire will not have power even if the key is on the "on" position. get somone to crank the car while your under it testing the positive wire. then you will know if it is not working. -
I’ve got one bracket in my pile of brake stuff that I don't need. I bought two of them to try to do some research but I only used one of them. So now I have this one which has never been opened. It is in the original box. The part number is 44155-04s10, and I’m willing to sell it to you for $40 plus $10 shipping. I’m willing to lower the price if you find it cheaper somewhere else though.

It sounds like your problems are just about solved, but I thought i would post this for future searchers. The same thing happened to me three times. Each time it was the harmonic balancer. So if your having these problems be sure to check to see if the rubber on it has worn out.

post me some questions
Silver Mine Motors replied to grumpyvette's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Today i was talking to a friend of mine who has been around z's for a long time. He told me that the reason my car was getting 16mpg is becouse i have low quality fuel injectors on my stock l28. He said that getting stock nissan injectors would give atleast 20mpg. what do you think? should i change them? it's a daily driver, and i've tried fuel injection cleaner. No difference. Thanks Edan -
280Z turning like a bus

If your car is lowered you might want to get bump steer spacers, they make a bit of a difference. -

Sharing my new front brake design
Silver Mine Motors replied to snarpee's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Doesen't arizona z car make that exact kit? So what do you plan on making for the rear brakes? Do you care if there is an e-brake? From my experience the rear brakes are by far harder to design then the fronts becouse of the e-brake. -
Z Car weights
Silver Mine Motors replied to Drax240z's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I weighed my daily driver about a week ago and it came in at 2900 pounds. It has a completely full interior, stock engine, 16x7 Riken wheels, and a small 10” sub woofer. Just though I would share. It came out to be much heavier than I though it would. -

How is the Economy affecting your Hybrid Project?
Silver Mine Motors replied to JustinOlson's topic in Non Tech Board
I don't have a lot of time to to write a lot about this, but since i own a company that sells parts for our z cars I can tell you that sales have gone down by more that 50% in the last two months. -
Rollcage on the street
Silver Mine Motors replied to LLave's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I thought I would offer some personal advise about my experience with the safety of my past z cars. I have been in two major accidents with my 260zs. Both cars were totaled and both cars had strep bars but no roll bars. The first time I was going about 45 mph and had a head on collision with another car going about the same speed as I was. The car was totaled but I was fine. I barley had a scratch on me. The car was completely totaled, and had to be flatbeded to the junk yard. I think what saved me that time was the fact that the body took the impact. The second time was the same scenario but with a tree, and it was during a left turn. So as far as front impact our cars are pretty good. I think side impact is the only area were I would like to have a little more safety. Especially since our doors are so light. I'd like to see what type of roll cage you decide to make that would not get in the way, but would reduce the probability of getting hurt during side impact.
