  1. yea you gotta watch out for stalkers, lol. rings huh? hope all goes well in the rebuild. i have an extra motor sittin too, but its the "just in case" motor. i also have a "just in case" 5 speed and 4 speed. im a pack rat for short.
  2. i wish i had the money to repaint my z like that. besides that you are doing an awsome job!
  3. ive never bought those from them, just other stuff. imo they are false advertising if they dont send you the rest or refund you for that. that my friend is b/s. just my .02 cents
  4. do you live in austin,tx and if so how much is the insurance?
  5. as far as the difference in size, yes it is normal. only the 71-72's had that setup, the 70 had equal valves. i had that same question earlier, and addressed it to ztherapy.com. they said it is completely normal, but i had a spare set of su's and made the setup i use with equal float tops (valves). as far as adjustment, i have no idea on those, i could never get mine running perfect b/c of this. that's just my preference though.
  6. nope just felt like switching motors.
  7. what should my ratio be if i had my P90 head milled .090 on a f54 block and flattop pistons? i never bothered to calculate, but now i am curious
  8. well, guess i gotta drive it im going to do as daniel says then see what i result in. thanx guys, as i will keep you all updated
  9. i've been kicking around the idea of doing a 13b rotary conversion to my 93 civic hatch. sure it will be immobile for a while, but just the thought is kinda cool. i know how much fabrication is involve, and trust me; its not a problem. all i want to know is has anyone done it that you guys know of?
  10. no, that is a totally different bumper, most likely custom molded
  11. so do i retorque or dont retorque? i didnt bore it out, had the machine shop hone it out, gap rings, measure bores, i just put it all together according to manual. onlything majorly done was the head shave of .090 smoke is more whitish, than bluish. (new headgasket, all new seals, all new gaskets) everything was torqued when put back together key thing: i havent been able to drive it around as i should, too smoky. BUT keep in mind there is plenty of power (much more than it was b/f rebuild) , no hesitation-not a hint, idles perfect. as far as jmortensen was saying, you need to the engine to heat up then cool down so the block makes a fingerprint on the headgasket and so forth. is this what you mean? so nienberg.11 said its coolant possibly, like how when you replace the freeze plugs and it leaks a little and later it stops due to heat expansion?
  12. that last zx has 240z turn sigs on the bumper, looks good
  13. didnt quite break it in yet, just drove it around maybe a mile, just smoked alot so i turned around. drove it like a sane person if thats what you mean, no too hard at all. it definitly not fully broken in thats for sure. the plan was to hit the highway for about an hour but the smoking is stopping me , i really dont wanna get pulled over.
  14. tail light panel. sheet metal, cut out old panel; weld in a flat piece of sheetmetal, cut holes, and i still have the lights if you want them for cheap. as far as my current z goes, im not doing the tail light thing again, nor the vents, just the suspension and wheels. btw, that is flat black in the sun for 2 years, the top pic is 1 1/2 year b/f the multiple ones
  15. its was my first body work job, and i had nothing but sandpaper and my wifes hands, so give me a break on the bodywork
  16. re-torque after first run? nope, should i do that?
  17. too easy, simply put. it was cheap, fast, and not much of a challenge for me. i got over 400hp with less than $1000. and also i had internal failure (piston wrist pins)
  18. believe it or not these are 15x8's with adapters and my custom coilover setup w/ 400lb springs and tokico blues. quarter windows knocked out and put in vents, fender mount mirrors, and el cheapo front spoiler
  19. i think im going to do my current z like this. i miss this car those rims are 15x8's with adapters i loved em
  20. just thought i would post a pic of my old setup 76' 355 2bolt main .040 over victor jr. intake w/ 2" spacer HEI ignition holly 750 dp forged flat top 4 brow pistons (frogot brand) 10/10 crank stock modified rods and thats all i remember really.
  21. pcv is ok, just went out an checked it. i do have the top valve cover tube open, no smoke shooting out or anything, if anything it has a vacuum
  22. blow by, sounds like rings, had same problem awhile back
