  1. Just talked with Tom at zfiberglass and he is still open. Please see this thread for more information: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=776775#post776775.
  2. I'm trying to gauge interest in an opportunity to save the HybridZ community money. I have access to a 78z, 82 NA, 83 Turbo, 300z's and 240sx's (see links). They are all at a local recycler. If you need parts from these and I can get enough interest generated, we can save money on a 'group' buy of a parts car. These cars typically go cheap, but will require a number of folks to commit to the purchase of parts for it to work. If you are interested, this is how I'd see it working, but I'm open to suggestions: User will post the part you would like from the car. I'll keep a list of the parts people want. When it gets within 2 weeks of the scheduled auction, I'll email you and get your final commitment for the part. I'll make a maximum bid based on the sum of all the commitments I've received before the auction. If we win the auction, I'll strip the parts and send them to you. 3. Oh well. I've blasted mine and am painting it now. Maybe I'll get one out of a junker and use it is a guide. Thanks.
  4. I'm doing the same thing to mine now. Do you have more pictures as I took mine apart without taking enough pictures?
  5. My sister had one of those until she was t-boned by a pickup. She walked away with a few bruises, which is amazing considering the size of that car. I wonder how many hits that car took...
  6. I liked it until the end when the z hits the wall. What's up with that?
  7. Gray Goose - Cool Bottle Arizona Z, Ground Control, Motorsport?
  8. Did you powdercoat of paint the block / head? It looks like the seat area for the manifold is painted. Will that affect sealing?
  9. Wolverine Candy Apple Red or Vibrant Blue?
  10. Aziza Z, looks incredible. Do you think he could modify the mold for other lights, i.e. Skyline?
  11. If you want to keep the locking mechanism, you would have to make it manual or electro-magnetic, which would be really cool. If not, it is easily removed. Have you seen the ignition taken apart? If not, I can snap a picture and let you see how to remove the locking portion.
  12. Careless. Thanks. I hope my car is far from original, but that totally depends on my budget. When you install the frame rails, how do you keep rust from forming between the original rails and the new ones?
  13. Thanks. I am going to grind it down, but I didn't want to do that if I would simply have to remove the entire piece. What should I do with the frame rail. Clean and reweld or clean and install a new frame rail?
  14. I purchased this 'no rust' shell and am stripping the undercoating. I have a lot of time during this process and need your help. Will the patch that the previous owner did work or should cut it out and redo it. (Obviously, it needs to be finished either way). I will be putting flares on, but I don't want to be doing this work again in a year because it looks like an amateur did the work or it starts rusting. PLEASE HELP! The second part I'm worried out about is the driver side frame rail. Someone patched it, but it is rusting below the rail. Just surface rust, but should I cut it out and install new frame rails???
  15. He sent us this updated link for the pictures. http://s140.photobucket.com/albums/r30/steven_esworthy/240Z/
  16. This would look nice. I went with the Skyline R34 tail lights. They aren't installed yet, but I hope they work. Still love the Mustang lights on the 280z.
  17. Cool. Maybe I'll give it a try. Thanks. The car looks great.
  18. wickiewicked240z. How did you learn to weld? Did you take a course???
  19. Thanks Yorgee. Where can I find good text on adjusting the carbs?
  20. I have a 72 240z with a 77 L28 engine. I have two problems that I can't seem to fix. 1. The car takes forever to start and once it gets warmed up (15 minutes of driving), it cuts off when I decelerate. No problem restarting, but it is aggravating. I've got to keep the tach up to around 2000 RPM or it's all over. Heal and toe between the brake and accelerator works. 2. I've had the car parked for most of the winter in my garage. Periodically, when I go into the garage from the house, I get hit with overwhelming smell of gas. I want to get the car running well so I can take it to the track later this month. I've included a picture, but I doubt that will help. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help. Guy
  21. My son and I are rebuilding our Z and safety was our top concern. We decided to invest in the following to avoid an accident: 1. Upgraded Brakes 2. Upgraded Suspension 3. ZG Flares to accommodate wide rubber 4. Loud exhaust (loud pipes save lives - let people know you are there) 5. New wiring harness to improve brightness of lights / brakes lights 6. Fixing and upgrading the horn God forbid we ever get in an accident, we are installing: 6. New seats and belts 7. Half Cage 8. Extinguisher 9. First Aid Kit The last thing we are doing for safety is making sure we both know the limits of our capabilities. We are both taking performance classes with the Z once it is done. They are expensive, but that may be the best investment your folks can make. Good Luck
