Hickl, If your distributor is a mallory unlite, the mechanical advance is under the plate under the rotor and can be adjusted by bending the tab and or heaver or lighter springs to get the advance you want for your motor. You can still use the vacuum advance with the mechanical to fine tune your motor. I hope this helps.

John and Jerry, That is 1 Bad Ride that you guys have. That track sure does live up to its name "The House of Hook". We hope to see you all at the DNI Drags March 15th and 16th. I hope the track will hook up as good as "The House of Hook" and we all can run some very fast ET's safely. -
She made it through the liver biopsy with flying colors....but no results yet...hopefully tomorrow. Thanks again!
-
Sorry, I haven't posted an update, but she's had two more surgeries for the atypical moles and....the MRI was inconclusive and she is scheduled for 9AM in the morning (9/27) for a liver biopsy. We sincerely appreciate all the prayers and ask that you continue to remember her...especially as she goes through the liver biopsy tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

Guys and Gals, Alot of you we haven't met, but those of you who we have know how special my wife is (to me, at least). We are going through a rough time right now and need your prayers. She's had surgery for Melanoma (skin cancer) three times (on her back all three times). She had a chest x-ray (routine) last week and they thought the saw something on her left lung...turns out (after a chect CT) lungs are clear, but something on the liver. Just had an abdominal CT today and waiting for the answer. Please keep us in your prayers, and I'll keep you posted. Thanks,

Hey, glad to hear you're finished. Keep me posted on ET's.....and be sure to call if you need any help.

Nitrous Advice.. Will this work
1 QUICK Z replied to zthis's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
ZTHIS, I am a Nitrous Express Guy but I do know that the NOS Big Shot Plate is adjustable (175-225-275-325-350+ hp) is and will make more power than the NOS Cheater Plate adjustable (100-125-150-180-210-250 hp). What intake do you have? I do not advise stacking the two plates on top of each other (due to poor distribution in some intakes). Have you thought about puting on a Nitrous Progressive Controller with the Big Shot Plate? Yes, If you sprayed the nitrous purge on or under the runners it will have a cooling effect on the intake. If you have any questions or if I can help you out in any way my phone numbers are below give me a call. -
1 QUICK Z to Run in the " KING of THE STRIP''

Guys, I do agree with you...although I didn't have any drugs for control, I just had to keep telling myself that I was representing sponsors and I wanted to be professional...the things she said to me were not at all easy to stand there and listen to. I did, finally, say to her that we all knew coming into this deal what it was about.....the advertisement for the show included in it's description these words "part game show, part reality show". I didn't lie to her or anyone else. I ran what I needed to to beat her and she didn't handle it very well. After her calling me a "lying sack of sh**", my wife pointed out something that I hadn't noticed about her car.....she said the car was borrowed from a friend ("a retired automotive worker.....but he's not here").....the tag said "SULTRY" and Gina did some checking into it.....the tag is registered to none other than Kathleen Fisher. Doesn't sound like a "he" to me! Anyway....Gina probably wouldn't have been as "controlled" as I was... but it would have made for "good tv" though. Looking forward to this weekend. Gina will be driving the "little tire" car (the one I drove and won with on Pinks and the one I drove on King of the Strip). Don't know what kind of ET she'll post (she hasn't been in the car since 1992), but shooting for low 11's or possibly low 10's. She's going to have a "chic team" so it should be pretty interesting. I'll be driving the "big tire" car and I plan on running "All Out". I hope to make a good showing for my sponsors (several will be there) as well as Phillips Performance. Anyone coming up....you're welcome to come by and hang with us. -

Z-Gad, Yes we were thankfull to get the Z car back:mparty:. It was hard taking it to the impound lot and walking off from it. Everybody will need to tune-in to ESPN 2 on Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. starting July 8th to watch the episodes and how we get our Z car back. For more information go to http://www.masterstelevision.com/index.php and click on King of the Strip. Yes it would have been nice to win what was in the trailer and we fought hard to try to win it all, but I'm constantly reminding myself that in order to win I also must be prepared to lose. Jon -

We look foward to "Pinks All Out" at Bristol Dragway on July, 20 and 21 and with you guys coming up to race, hopefully we can put both of our Z's into the 16 car field and put on a good show....and hopefully 1 of us WIN!! Tell Jerry to give me a call and come on by my shop for a visit. Thanks Jon -

Hey Guys and Gals, We were the # 3 draw in the ‘’King of the Strip’’ race series at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Indiana. We were there June 12 through 15. The show will start airing on ESPN 2 every Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. beginning July 8 and continue every Sunday for 13 weeks until the champ is crowned. We fought very hard on each of our episodes and WON the first 3 episodes. We broke the axle universal joint in the 4TH episode making us loose that race and that episode. Over all we ran 21 consecutive passes within 30 minuets of each other without even pulling the hood. We have our car.....but you have to watch the show to see how. We received a lot of respect from ESPN, Tommy Johnson, Jr., Melanie Troxel, Tom Abbett (from Mike Ashley’s Crew) and all the other crews about how well we represented our team, ran our Z car, displayed ourselves in our uniforms (best dressed crew there) and how well our Team negotiated for our runs. Anyway much thanks for all your support and help. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u146/Jon1QUICKZ/DSCN1841.jpg http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u146/Jon1QUICKZ/DSCN1832.jpg Jon Phillips 1 QUICK Z Phillips Performance 1-423-735-RACE ( Shop ) 1-423-388-0016 ( Cell ) -

I just found out today that all 14 entrys for the " KING of the STRIP " must be there tuesday morning June 12th at 9:00 A.M. and run 2 test passes for all the competition to see what each car and driver runs to use for our first negotiation spot on the tree against each competitor. And then they will draw names as to which episode you will run in. Wish us lots of luck, because we will need it to try and win it all. If anyone wants to come up and be part of our crew and help us out ( as I will not have many people that can come up there with me ) Give me a call 1-423-735-7223 Phillips Peformance Shop or 1-423-388-0016 Cell Thanks, Jon Phillips 1 QUICK Z -

We WON!! In The Year One Open Class this weekend at Alanta Dragway. We qualified # 1 with a (1.17 60ft) 7.95 E.T. at 172.56 mph in the 1/4 Saturday morning and ran consistent 8.00's at 170 to 171 throughout eliminations to the finals and ran a 8.00 E.T. at 171.36 mph for the win. This pass would have been faster than our qualifying pass but with a spinning 1.20 60ft we lost E.T.(We were testing doing long burnouts across the line at Bristol Dragway two weeks ago and used up my tires) Now I know I need new tires, anyway we had fun and didn't break anything and won the race. Thanks Jon -
