  1. Not sure how to go about this... I recently went to a Chumpcar event in Kent Washington at Pacific Raceway. It was awesome and I really want to be a part of it and elected to scrap my V8 ZX project in an effort to achieve this. The problem I have is that all the people I know are either broke, or don't care to get a large dose of adrenaline going balls-to-the-wall down the front straight. I got my wife on board, I got a car that needs to be build to Chumpcar Spec, I got a brother-in-law mechanic and I desperately need a team that want to build and race a ZX. If you are in the Seattle area and have some free time and a little disposable income feel free to PM me and get some additional information.
  2. I know where you can get them in a kit, Im not sure if you can by them separate though... number three? http://www.blackdragonauto.com/icatalog/zr/full.aspx?Page=47
  3. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think my weak link is time and that fact that I am unorganized. Once I get the rear suspension put back together, Ill get it on the ground and have my wife push me up and down the street to get the wind blowing through my hair...
  4. Yes all the rubber is in place, as are the washers and misc. I think either the bolts or nuts need a good cleaning. I am just afraid to over torque the nuts.
  5. The few weeks I have been doing some maintenance on the rear of the car. I took the whole rear subframe off to change differential mount and rear seal on the differential. In the process I lost one of the nuts and took off one of the subframe connectors bolts to find a replacement. Once everything was in place, I tightened every bolt to spec. Once I lowered my jack (which was holding everything in place) I noticed the subframe separated from the body of the car about 1/4" to 1/2". This doesn't seem right and I have done this twice now. Am I missing something?
  6. Thanks all for the advice. I think my main problem is organization. I put something down and it vanishes. Ill get organized then attack it.
  7. Im not sure if its seasonal affective disorder or what, but recently i just want to sell my 83 to the first guy that shows up. Ive have this car for 7 years and it has never been started up or has had a battery connected. I bought it from a sketchy dude for $400, and it was in the wake of having my daily driven 81 stolen, joy riden, and promptly totalled. I bought the car with a blow engine, in hopes of swapping in a V8. Its been slow going. Its been taken apart several times and i have lost a ton of items over a couple of moves. Ive bought a ton of items as a result. I guess what im looking for is a little motivation or a consensus to dump the car and move on to greener pastures.
  8. front tow hooks off an 83 weight in at 2lb 2oz per side, plus 8 bolts: ~5lb ill have more once the wife leaves, so i can sneak dirty car parts into the house to weight them.
  9. This is a great post, even with the lecture. I have already torn out all of the old brake equipment and I am replacing alot of the factory stuff. Should I up size the brake lines and the master cyclinder?
  10. I dont have any pics, but Ive gotten a new bike (in the box) to fit with the hatch closed! it was hard to shift and look out the passenger side window.
  11. debating ... auto or manual ...

  12. Nice car for the money, My second z was $400 with a blown motor.
  13. ether way i like someone to be accountable for my mistakes.
  14. it would be sweet if you relocated the intercoolers underneth the hood vents, and shot the exhaust right out the fenders. better yet stright up!
  15. not exactly the fenders were cut almost in half. the main thing im worried about is how the bottom of the fenders come back and connect to the unibody, the wiring for the lights, and the mechanics to keep it from hitting me in the head.
  16. A few years ago I saw a few pics of a black 240 that had the top half the the fenders welded to the hood so it was essentially all one piece. Kinda like the back of some mid-engine cars. Does any one have any information about the process of doing this or maybe even some more pics that i can browse?
  17. I think this is the flying car I have been hearing about!
  18. I would like to see an airdamn modified from the 240z, the one with the huge open front end, to fit on to the 280zx.
