  1. I believe someone else here posted this once and I had also thought about doing this. The idea was to take a heavy duty garbage bag and insert this as a liner into the body cavity to be filled and then fill it with the foam and seal off the top. I think this could work. Any other input guys...
  2. I am gonna follow in tim240z'z footsteps I just got some automotive carpet at the the R&L company salvage store for 20 bucks got almost 6 yds. It seems to be really good quality. Now to find a cheap source for high quality sound deadener open to ideas there guys..
  3. I had a theory on this myself. I was going to paint my car in an enclosed garage/basement. The furnace is in the basement and I wasnt sure if even though it was at the other side of the room it was going to be a problem. My idea was to build a plastic paint booth. Completly sealed other than and extracting fan that would probably be rented. Am I nuts or is this a decent idea or do I not have to worry about the gas furnace at all. Thanks guys
  4. Man guys you are awesome. Since tax time is almost here. Wheels and paint may be in the works. Will be posting in the paint and body forum sometime soon. Thanks again for all your info guys.
  5. Well there are alot of factors that go into hp estimates. What are the specs on your heads. 300+ hp is fairly easy to obtain with the proper cam intake carb and headers combo. Im sure some of the guys here can pipe up with some wonderful specs for you to look for in those items. Good luck. For that price I think I would buy it if it were me I would.
  6. Im excited looks like we are making progress does anyone think that the 2 inch adaptor is a bad thing I know porsches use a similar setup I play on running 400 hp max 300 min depends on my setup would that be too much for the adaptors. the price isnt bad at all. Thanks for the input so far guys
  7. Well this is basically what I want to fit in my z the rears arent a problem but will the 8.5 fit with a 5 lug conversion on the front http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1873560651 Thanks for all the input so far
  8. Well heres my problem I want 10 inch wheels in the back since I have flares maybe even 11 or 12 wide that is and in the front I dont have flares and I need about an 8 inch wheel. Im running coil overs so thats not a problem but my issue is I want modern wheels and the honda adaptors are awesome as long as you run the same wheels in both front and back. However I havnt been able to locate any honda wheelse in say a five spoke contemporary design that I could mix and match with some 8 inch wide tires in the front. Maybe I should make a new post for all that but Ill see if I can get any ideas. bmw makes sets of wheels that are 8.5 in the front and 10 or 10.5 wide in the rear but with the wacky offset. Well thanks again for all your help guys
  9. Hmpph maybe ill just have to consult ross on this.

  13. Man I really like the looks of the vortech supercharger. Only deal is no air cleaner? Is that a bad thing or am I just uneducated I dont know much on this subject but Im starting to get really interested really fast. Can someone link me to similar setups or more info on any of the above mentioned setups. Thanks alot guys
  14. Thanks davy I got most of what ross was saying. I was more concerned with the total cost of this conversion and what I need to look for parts wise. Im on a pretty tight budget so I need the cheapest form of this conversion possible more or less and need to know what my options are as far as parts that can be used goes. Thanks for any and all input guys
  15. Hello again Ross I think im more lost now that ive re read your post a couple of times. Can you give me some parts options that I can use to do this swap. Im not looking for 13 in brembo brakes or anything just 4 wheel discs would be nice. Sorry im not as quick to understand this as I should be. thanks again for all your help. Oh and wonderful site you have to prob gonna be doin some shopping there after tax time.
  16. Thanks for the info Ross. I think you saying do the 300zx conversion to the 5 lug discs and then with an adaptor id be able to bolt on these rims. Also I noticed that the rims im looking at have a +45 mm offset. Would that be a problem. What kind of cost am I looking at min/max to do this conversion. Thanks for your help.
  17. Hey guys I keep finding wheels that I want and a current set of them that I think i have to have. The problem is they are a 5/120 lug spacing. I was wondering if it would be possible to convert something to obtain this lug spacing to use these rims thanks guys.

  20. Yeah guys im stuck on the z. Well there are alot of mikes on this board but I think it is scca mike that has the yellow convertible with a bunch of extras sweet ride. That is what IM going for. Thanks for all your input so far
  21. Just for your guys info my car is already a vertible it is a 280z and as long as the whole kit and caboodle stays under 3000 lbs Ill be happy. Putting in a new complete interior so at least I have a bare platform for sound deadening. Thanks for the input so far guys
  22. Ok guys heres the deal getting into the engine building stage of my project and here are my current goals which of course could change. I want the best of both worlds from my car. Im hoping to build and extremely smooth quit nice riding car with all the extras (hopefully power steering and ac) I want to get about 350 horsepower extremely quietly. This is for several reasons first its going to be a driver secondly it is a convertible and thirdly I want it to be a sleeper. A small nitrous shot my be used occasionally but not included in desired hp levels. Any input on exhaust engine components needed and sound proofing procedures would be hugely appreciated. Thanks you guys
  23. Beautiful car you have there. I also would like an answer to this question as I just need my car running enough to drive it a few miles to the body shop and interior shop and wherever else to get the work done that I wont be doing myself. just curious to the cheap basics jerry rigging is fine... thanks guys
  24. Boy would I like to get some answers here also. I want to do this mod along with my 350 swap and am wondering if it can be done with the motor in or if it has to be done first. Also Tomohawk I am about 3.5 hours from you near cincinatti If and when you get this mod done I may just have to come check it out sometime. Replies Please...
  25. IMHO it looks terrible on that car and I dont think it would look much better on our datsuns but hey to each his own you would definatly be different if you could get it to work. My suggestion would be to find some other way to make your car stand out custom fiberglass work etc....
