  1. Not sure what I am going to do yet. I will call them later today and discuss what they think they can do. As far as I remember, they did not make any claims that my tranny would handle much over 500hp. I new I was pushing it so not upset with them.
  2. Don't know, have never dyno'd this motor. I guess over 500 lbs
  3. Finally got my nitrous system set up, figured I would start with a 100 shot, warmed the bottle up to 1000 psi, armed it at about 4000 rpm in second gear, pulled awesome, shifted to third and it wripped the teeth of my G-force T5 tranny. Was a really awesome couple of seconds....shame it trashed my $2500 tranny.
  4. i actually have access to one of those. where did you mount it? I didn't really like the idea of having a bunch of fuel up there in case of a fender bender but may end up going that route.
  5. I'm sure it is, just still really clean in side and a street driven. Hate to cut it up back there.
  6. I need to add a seperate fuel system for my wet system, has anyone here added a secondary bung in the stock fuel tank to accomplish this? If so, please tell me how you did it! thanks Jeff
  7. To support Grumpy's numbers, I am running a holley red pump and still using the stock Z lines with no current issues. About to change to set up for nos though. See signature for car specs
  8. Hey Guys, am running a larger fuel line from front to back and have never been happy with how my fuel line enters the engine bay. Any body got any cool idea? I don't like the stock location as it is to close to my header for my comfort. Just plan on running a hard line, not steel braided hose. thanks Jeff
  9. So can i get away with a better pump or do I need 2 pumps?
  10. I know my fuel system as far as the plumbing goes could use improvement. I have a holley red fuel pump in the back. Can anyone tell me if that pump is enough to feed my system with a nos plate? I can re-plumb the piping, just wondering if I need to start from scratch. thanks
  11. Ok guys, getting close, found a deal on a Victor jr 2999 (the one with the built in 1" spacer) and got a holley cheater plate (Thanks John Scott!). Have everything plumbed in and am getting close to trying this stuff out. Here is my question, I understand to choose my jet size on the fuel side, I have to work off my fuel pressure. I was playing with the plate last night and with the car running, I have 6 lbs to the fuel solonoid. If I open the solonoid and let it spray fuel, It drops to around 4 lbs. When I choose my jet size, will I base it on 6 lbs or 4lbs? Also, won't the 4lbs reading change which each jet size due to more or less backpressure? Will be starting with a 100 or 150 shot and prob won't go past that....ya right..
  12. you do get that I am running a dual carb tunnel ram right now right?
  13. I thought about that and it would be really cool but trying to keep my cost down. I figure by the time I buy 8 nozzles and all the plumbing and solenoids I would need, I would be broke. A fellow Hybrid member is hooking me up with a holley plate so I now have that covered.
  14. Have forged pistons. Grumpy, I can get my hands on a Victor JR. Would that be equivalent to what you suggested? Looks very similiar.
  15. I picked up a nos kit (all except the plate), so will be setting my car up for it soon. I would like to spray with my tunnel ram (as it looks really cool) but the added cost and hassle of the dual carb setup has me thinking about simplifying. I have a performer rpm that was on it but was thinking along the lines of a victor jr as they are readily available on the used market. What do you guys think? Will prob run a 150 shot. 383 stroker, sportsman II small chamber heads.... thanks Jeff
  16. Hey Guys, I have had a very intermittant problem for the last few months. Cruising down the road, my car would stumble for a split second then keep on cruising. One time it died and started right up. Another time it died, would not start then went back to it a few hours later and it fired right up. Don't think it is fuel related as the time it wouldn't fire it had plenty of fuel pressure. My setup is an msd 6AL, mallory unilite dizzy and msd blaster II coil. My first thought was the dizzy as I have heard bad rep on them. I put my old points dizzy in and it did it again with in one mile. I now bypassed my msd box and changed my coil and it seems to be fixed. My problem is that I had to change two components so still don't have it pin pointed. I can not hook up my blaster II coil without the msd box as it gets real unhappy without a ballast resister (which I don't have). I am leaning towards the msd box being the issue, but before I buy a new one, want to make sure it could not be the coil. Could a coil fail like that? Bad coils I have came accross in the past would get worse and worse as they heated up. Mine does not. Thanks for reading and hope someone can help. Jeff
  17. That's kind of what I was thinking. Keep in mind, we did not pick this cam, it came in the truck. We are just trying to decide if we are going to yank it out or not. Care more about how it performs than what "Billy" thinks at the drive thru...
  18. Am wondering if anyone has any experience with this cam. My brother bought an old truck (sorry, not a Z), and we think it is a stock 350 with this cam in it. Sounds really good but is very weak as far as power goes. The claim on this cam is that it gives you a big cam sound without effecting driveability. Is this possible? I know it has a large overlap. Truck has no low end and we are wondering if it is a tunning issue or is this cam a joke.
  19. Is a fun tool, but remember it is pretty much in a "perfect world" numbers. According to my trap speed I should be in the very low 11's, but have made multiple attempts and to date have not been able to break the 11.5 mark. I'm just sayin, don't get frustrated if you can't hit that calculated mark, lots of variables.
  20. No Problem, was just jacking with you. This is a fun little calculator. http://www.wallaceracing.com/etcalc.php You can enter any one value from your time slip and it will tell you what the rest "should be". At your trap speed, it has you at a potential of a very high 12 assuming perfect launch, traction etc.
  21. Yes, I am running an open Diff. Even with smaller street tires, I don't think the open diff was giving me much trouble. If I eased into it could cut a 1.8 60 foot and if I hit it too hard, would spin both tires.
  22. First of all it's "Hickl", not "Hickle". I am running a 5 speed. Launch around 3K, 2/3 throttle for about 1 second then mash it to the floor. Don't remember the size, but am running some pretty wide street slicks. Have Coilover's so I picked up some room under the back end and these tires actually rub the fender when it squats. There are some pics in my photo album that will give you an idea.
  23. I am running 11.50 with best of 1.592 60' with stock dif. Street slicks of course.
  24. I live in the brisk cold of Houston and have been running the stock radiator with my 383 for years and have never had a problem. Sit in stop and go traffic in 95 degrees and she holds stable. I would try it, worst case, you swap it later. Jeff
