  1. Thanks! Well, he's only nine so I'm starting him out kinda small... It's a Honda CB175 twin! Should be fairly peppy for a little toy... Heres a couple more pics. I changed the shape of the piece that goes from the bottom of the frame up to the neck just a bit. I think is looks a little better anyhow...
  2. Thanks. I think it will hold fine for it's application:burnout:
  3. Well, no more cracky! (as my 3yr old daughter would say...)
  4. Necessity... the creator of invetion!!! Or innovation in most cases... Give my compliments to Mark. He is definately an artist! I just started a project that involves a bit of tube bending, and it definately takes more skill than I thought before. Have Fun!!!
  5. Well, I would, but I just spent a lot of time making this piece look identical to another... (see this thread: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=156209) I didn't notice the split until after I was done. I got all this pipe from the scrap pile of the local steel siupplier for $10 so I guess I should've expected something like this. I don't think it's going to be too tough to fix, but wanted to see if any of you guys had run into something like this before. Thanks!
  6. I think I have all of those parts. Email me at L28240z@yahoo.com and we can discuss price and shipping. Thanks! Richard
  7. What year??? It does matter...
  8. Well, I guess I should've paid a little closer attention to where the pipe seam was before I bent the pipe, but nevertheless... I thought I would just take a thin cutoff wheel and grind it out a little and weld it back up, but maybe you guys know of a better solution??? It's 3/4" thick wall pipe and shouldn't see too much stress, but I do want to at least weld it to make sure it doesn't keep cracking. Do you think I should drill holes at each end and fill them up with weld too to make sure it stops? Thanks in advance for any input!
  9. Just got the hardest part done... The rear swing arm. Getting the two side symetrical was tough! They still aren't prfect, but not too bad for working on a wavy, dirty, concrete floor with a cheap bender...
  10. Well I'm starting on my first project of this kind. It will be nearly 100% hand fabricated with just a few basic tools. I borrowed a cheap pipe bender from a friend to help out. Heres a few pics of the first stage, I will post up more as it progresses. I am trying to get it ready for a Christmas present to my son... Any comments and/or suggestion are very welcome!! Thanks for looking! -Richard
  11. Are you running an air injection pump? This may have siezed up too. Not running all the belts would not throw the crankshaft pulley "off balance". What has likely happened is that you didn't get the alternator lined up well. The pulleys all need to be within an 1/8" or so of each other to keep the belt from getting too hot and breaking apart... Good Luck!
  12. I have a very nice set of rears with the rubber that is in good shape too. Email me at L28240z@yahoo.com if you still need them. Thanks, Richard
  13. I have a coil and resistor in good working order. $50 shipped. You can email me at L28240z@yahoo.com if you still need them. Thanks, Richard
  14. Thanks guys! The alternator is just an aftermarket, Chevy style, one wire. It is much smaller though with high speed bearings in it. So far it has really made a difference in my charging system too!! -Richard
  15. I have a set. You can email me at L28240z@yahoo.com if you still need them. Thanks, Richard
  16. I have a set of front bumoer brackets for an early style 240Z bumper, battery hold down top plate, and a good working 240Z A/C compressor w/bracket and pulley. You can email me at L28240z@yahoo.com if you are interested. Thanks, Richard
  17. I thought it was pretty funny too, but wasn't going to say anything... Looks great no matter what you call them!!
  18. Thanks for the compliment Steve. The alternator is better all the way around. It is a one wire hookup and light wieght with high speed bearings. Plus it puts out 105 amps!! Yeah, shes gonna be a heart breaker! I may have to put a lock on the outside of her bedroom door in a few years... She definately loves helping Daddy though!! -Richard
  19. THANK YOU for this post... It very well could've saved my life as I do the same thing with the brake cleaner on occasion!!
  20. Sorry for the redundancy, I accidentally added the same photo more than once a couple of times. I have deleted them. I took the pictures with my phone so they aren't the best. Again, sorry. I tried to show a progression of how it went together and included a pic of each step. Here are a few of it installed. Sorry everything is so dirty, it has been driven in the rain quite a bit since the install...
  21. I have a complete shaft that is in great shape. I'll have to check on which style it is, but if you want it I'd take $45 for all of it plus shipping cost. You can email me at L28240z@yahoo.com Thanks, Richard
  22. I've done this before too. Not all of them are accesible though. The screwdriver slot works well too.
