Yea sorry i meant production, for instance, this past week i completed an order of 4200 stainless steel brackets ha... But things are going much better, i asked if i could take an operators manual home for our Mazak HMC's and proto trak DPM3's and that showed them that I'm interested in staying there. Ever since then theyve been showing me stuff about setting up machines and talking to me about buying my own tools. Plus Ive been asking a ton of questions haha Thanks everyone for your support!

Thanks cyg, i have been trying to do my best and I've already done a few after hour projects that they were somewhat impressed with haha... one of the greatest things about the job is the source of materials i now have haha... I'm constantly buying things through the shop and they're always curious to see what I'm doing with the stuff... I guess these are all good things lol...

Hello everyone, its been a while since ive posted here, and i hope this is the correct sub-forum. But i wanted to say that i finally got a job! (dont worry thats not the part you have to care about). I started working at a machine shop about 3 months ago. Problem is, its like manufacturing machining... and im basically just working in a factory with mills and lathes haha I really want to learn more about actual 'machining' and CNC and stuff. But they seem reluctant to teach me anything where i work. Are there any really good books on these things? I would really love to learn how to work with this stuff so i could, not only get somewhere in my work, but also apply it to my true passion; cars. Well im mostly just curious to see how many tool makers are on this forum and if you guys have any pointers for a 'noob' production machinist such as myself lol Thanks in advance!

i think i kinda like the rear hatch thing... gives it kinda a 30's hot rod look... imo but the rims and the tail lights ruin it for me, sorry bud.

Yea i know I gotta keep going. Its sucks cuz things are rusted so bad i cant tell what its even SUPPOSED to look like. Im having a real prob with underneith the car in the rear, like inside the wheel wells and stuff. I guess Ill just make it the way i want it to look lol

Im sure this has been said a million times on this forum, but I feel i need to vent for a second, so just.. dont mind me..... Rust is the devil, it has officially ruined my life... Im a mechanical guy, im in to engines n stuff, but i figured ide give this whole "body work" thing a shot, and now i want to kill my self lol... But now that Im started, Im determined to finish it. It just seems everytime i turn around theres more rust!!! lol... I have completely changed my plans for the car and really just want get into the engine, but i get bouts of depression everytime I think about all the rust haha. And i guess its really not as bad as im making it sound, Im just really not that good of a body man (this is my first attempt at any body work)... and I feel like no matter which way I go about to repair it, its not the right way, and Im being half-assed, I dont think anything short of replacing the whole rear end is really the "proper" though... ugh.... Well thanks for bein here for me guys... haha

I personally really like the second photo shop. Looks functional, beautiful, and not ostentatiously gaudy lol.

Im kinda affraid to say this(put my flame suit on) but I kinda like some angles of it, I think the back would require ALOT of work to make it look right, but, JMO. Ever heard if those things parents put on their kids cars that record how often they floor it? looks like the PO parents were just pretty creative, and didnt want to spend the extra bucks to buy a normal one, lol

I would have to say in my un-profesional opinion that the rust, or lack there of, has more to do with newer metals and methods for painting and treating them at the factory. Also use of, and placement of rubber or plastic covers over things.

vise grips, stripped screw head, hard to get at, what do you reach for? needle nose vise rips! among other things... but still, dang things grip every thing! followed closely by air cut off tool..... and then socket set of coarse, and knife. MacZ

OK now realizing that the V8 prolly wont fit, Iv got new plans..for your car... that your not even sure you'll keep ha ha... any way, chop the top, shave all the door handles and the rear door handle, weld he rear door shut, lower it and keep the factory motor.... Sweet ride... I think it'd make a great rod of some sort, I don't know about the rotary, looks to me like more of a V8 car, if it'll fit:wink:. MacZ

Well welcome tho the Z community and congrats on ur first Z, shes a bute. As for you question, yes that kind of power is deff. achievable with a turbo L engine. Look In the FAQ, and really just search and you'll find the answers to just about any question.

(long sigh)... Iv come up with allot of dumb ideas in my day, none though... none, quite as dumb as this. I really honestly feel bad for the guy, sadly I still cant help but laugh.

Ok, incase anyone is still following this thread..or even cares anymore....Iv decided(once again) to KEEP my car now. Atleast untill I get my liscense, mean-while I will reapair all the rust, do a nice paintjob and do all the things I want to do like; fender flares, front air dam, CAI, exhaust, different small things like that, and Im also gonna finish the interior the right way. All-the-while looking for the perfect 240 with no motor for my project S.I.A.Z. motor(super incredible amazing Z lol). Then when I do find the proper mate, I will sell my 280 for like 4-5k. After purchasing the 240, all my Z transactions will be done for a while I hope. haha

Im 15 as well, I home school and dont have a job, I spend all night reading hybrid, than spend the next day trying everything I read.
