  1. Ron, I'm not sure if the '97-'98 is an s14 or s15, but both of the fsm's are here. http://www.phase2motortrend.com/nifasemaf.html Chris
  2. Wow, never seen anything like that before... I guess we do the same thing over here though, use what we've got plenty of. Is it mainly going to be a 1/4 mile car? -Chris
  3. I'm sorry to hear about all that. I'm not sure about the laws in New Mexico, but in Texas a child is able to decide where they want to live at the age of 13. When my parents split up, my little brother just told the judge he wanted to live with my dad and that was that... I really hope everything works out for you. -Chris
  4. I'm not too familiar with megasquirt, but this might give you a start. The search function on this forum also brings up amazing results, better than google on most occasions. http://forums.hybridz.org/forumdisplay.php?f=88
  5. I've seen the red stuff, I've also used a black kind before that works excellent. It came in a spray can, shot out like a spider web, and dried like rubber. It wasn't the prettiest thing, but we used it on school bus batteries, never had any corrosion problems. Its not very fun if you have to remove it however.
  6. LOL, that's what I initially thought it said. My girlfriend was the one to point out that it said "cheat" and not "cheap". Also, how do you go about getting a spoon stuck in a tire?
  7. Insurance wont cover the tires since I've only got liability, but I think I might be able to squeeze this one under the road hazard policy I got from discount tire I might just have a hard time explaining how I got about four screws in each tire...
  8. Honestly, I've been here for about a year now, and I've had this garage for almost nine months... I think someone has a pissed off girlfriend who got the wrong car, theres another tan town car a few garages away... My girlfriend thinks it was a female perp, so did the police... I'm guessing the paint came off relatively easy because my car hadnt been washed in a few weeks. Either that or it was just really cheap paint.
  9. Same car or just same scheme? http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/cto/1021486092.html
  10. I just used some simple green and a rag... Took about an hour, but I got it all off. Thanks for the input
  11. Yeah, I said something along the lines of holy crap too... a little more explicit though, especially since I know absolutely nobody in this town... I thought about wet sanding it, or maybe just taking it to a cheap body shop and have them try to buff it off? I've gotta pull the wheels off and get new tires first, they deflated within five minutes of running over the screws... about four in each tire.
  12. So this morning my girlfriend and I go downstairs, get in the car, and proceed to back out of the driveway. I heard something funny under the car so I stop, get out and look underneath... Turns out theres screws under all four of my tires (now all flat) and as I'm walking around the front of the car i notice something all over the front... Any ideas on how to get it off?
  13. Well, if you're using the s13 engine, electronics, and dash, what would stop you from using the instrument cluster? If you're using the dash, what would you put in there instead of the stock unit? -Chris
  14. Theres Austin vee-dub, my girlfriend used to take her beetle there for service. They're honest and relatively low priced, it's not a dealership but they specialize in VW. www.austinveedub.com Did she move here for school by chance? -Chris
  15. Hmm... Interesting, I'm guessing he did that because of the aftermarket engine management system? I dont know, mines all stock and running on the stock computer... I think all the ones you're going to find are going to have coil on plug unless they've been modified to run without it. -Chris
  16. I dont know about all the SR20DET's but I've got a red top and it has coil on plugs... and pretty much all the ones I've seen, I also thought the D in DET stands for distributorless ignition? I could be wrong though. -Chris
  17. Garvice, Thats pretty cool man, thanks for the photos. It makes it look more OEM with the aftermarket speakers without the whole glossy fiberglass thing goin on
  18. Garvice, this sounds interesting is there any way you could post up some photos to get a reference? Thanks, Chris
  19. I've never heard of a percolator system except for brewing coffee when we go camping... However, a few years ago a few friends and I hooked up an electric leaf blower to one of those inverter boxes and hooked it up to the intake tube of a mustang.... Now I dont have any dyno sheets to prove it, but it felt like there was a little more kick (probably all in our heads though) -Chris
  20. Im in Austin also, right off 183 and 620... let me know if you ever need any help -Chris
  21. A buddy and I just finished swapping a 4g63t from a first gen talon into a 1989 dodge colt, its pretty much a direct fit and when you can get the tires to hook up it, really moves. You can also take the AWD platform from the first gens and swap it over fairly easy
  22. whens the last time you checked the oil?
  23. its for the L28, im going to be taking a chassis fabrication and high performance engine class in school coming up pretty soon and i didnt know if it would be worth the time and money to make my own or just get a stock manifold... its either a cage or custom intake and header for the final project and i just cant choose
  24. i've searched all over this site to find one and can only find people who have them... does anyone have a reliable source for a turbo header?
  25. complete and working AWD 4g63t setup in my '77 280... i'd be totally happy with that
