  1. how does the tokico hts compare to the azc shock? I'm reading that the hts is rather lacking in range on rebound. sounds on par with adjustability though. comments?
  2. that was a huge oversight on my behalf. It's been so long since I've been on this forum I completely forgot about the specific categories. Thank you very much for the info
  3. Another big point are the camber plates. I know the AZC camber plates will have more adjustability. Ground control said they can achieve 2-2.5" of additional negative camber. AZC Ground-Control I don't have a welder, and while I did take a class in college the AZC plates are something I would definitely have to have someone else do. That factors in additional cost, I would assume ~3-400. I also am trying to avoid spraying my engine bay if I can, as it's the original paint and has a bit cool factor. Not a big factor by any means though.
  4. Can't decide. Just got off the phone with Ground control. They would do 399 for the coilvers, $520 for tokico illuminas, and 599 for adj camber plates. so $1520 for everything. I've had ground controls before (for the e30, not the z). AZC kit is $1600. Shocks have more finite adjustment. A possible advantage here is I will be getting brakes from them front and back (4 piston 12.2" up front. Can't afford the 6 pot or 13") so maybe this would help me pricewise? I did a search and didn't find anything btw I haven't decided on spring rates/sways yet.
  5. Picked up another 240z yesterday. So here it starts. I need a urethane front air dam (msa type I), brakes front and rear (4 or 6 piston up front, 4 in rear. AZC kit if anyone has), coilovers, (ground control or AZC, please include spring rates), shocks, adj front camber plates, rsm's, roll bar, harnesses, carbon fiber zg flares, and wheels wide enough to fit the flares. After I recoup from suspension & brakes I will need an L28et and a ton more, but I want to get the susp and brakes together for some track days before the season ends. Then I'll deal with the motor. Just figured I'd see if anyone had anything out there before I start buying everything new (not that I don't want to support the great Z car vendors that really help out and keep these cars competitive, fun and safe. And I have in the past, many many times. Which I will most likely end up doing. Just trying to get this car together on a budget and need whatever help I can get).
  6. I need so much. If anyone has Ground Controls, shocks, l28et, 5 sp, r200, roll bar, cf zg flares, wheels to fit zg flares, etc. These are things I need, and would like to get now. thanks
  7. It's for sure now. MY DAD JUST GAVE ME THE CAR! I'm back in the datsun world.
  8. Welp. I sold my e30. I'm parting out my 95 m3. I sold my 240z last year to david. I was planning on selling my 97 328i dd and just getting 1 car, a 4 door e36 m3. Buuuut, I just got this crazy idea. My father has a 72 with 45k miles on it that he said he'd sell me for a grand (he also has an early 71, and a 72 with an L28). best part about it (besides being rust free and having an uncracked dash)? it used to be lime green. and the engine bay, jambs, etc (although dirty) still have beautiful paint I wasn't too happy with motor options within my budget, and I went crazy on the straights getting passed by everyone when I had an L24. RB26 is my dream but too expensive. Ls1 is an option, but also rather pricey. L28et is so appealing, but I can't stand the sight of them with all those vacuum lines and hoses. then a local guy (axisZ if he's on here) said "Just get an n42 intake and a pallnet fuel rail" and posted this picture and I'm convinced. anyone have an L28et for sale? need an r200 as well.
  9. careful posting bmw stuff up here. yesterday someone tried telling me my e30 touring was a piece of crap.
  10. looks good. looks pretty grey though, do they do black also? I like the tranny tunnel, wonder if they do rear shock towers too
  11. so is the "112 yellow" lime green? If so I wonder where I can get it I'm repainting my car the original lime green!
  12. fawk now I have to get to california some time
  13. In regards my e30 wagon; I think it looks pretty good personally it is also faster, handles better, and has better brakes than my s30. Not to mention it's worth about 2.5x what a Z is worth. But that's not the point here. I am obviously a big Z car fan, I've had 2 already and we have 7 between myself, my father and uncle, and have spent many weekends riding around one or another of those Z cars my whole life growing up. In regards to the red Z; g nose is a matter of opinion. I do like it, but I would also like a stock front end. I have everything to swap back to a stock front end He said if he keeps it he may even consider putting a stock front end on it (just a consideration though, I doubt he'd do it). stick280zx; i've always considered cutting up a car, or putting an ugly body kit on it "molesting." I never really thought putting a stock front end on a car would be "molesting." And why would I not appreciate the car? I don't even understand where that came from While we're on the subject of enjoying cars; I do track days, got o a few meets, go to vintage events, etc. Whereas my uncle drives the car maybe once a year, he usually just drives his 75 vette. Not to mention he has a 72 Z with an L28 he's putting together, and restoring a fiat bianchini. The car saw an auto-x in 1986, and that is the only time it's done anything besides driven on streets. I understand it is the internet so there will be asinine comments, but it often boggles my mind the crap people come up with. "Molesting" a car by putting a stock front end on it. telling someone what they appreciate without even knowing them. telling me my other car is ugly and not worth restoring, etc. Some of you people should be ashamed of yourselves. For those with mature responses, thank you. My uncle wants to hold on to the car, he mentioned friday he may freshen up the suspension and brakes now that I'm not buying it. Also thank you for the info.
  14. it's my uncle's car, he'd be giving it to me for a good deal. I don't think I'm gonna take it though, I want to get my e30 going first. Maybe after that btw I believe I said it before but it wouldn't cost me anything to put a stock front end on it, I have 2 parts cars in my basement
  15. what are the air dam options for the g nose? also I wish there were affordable headlight covers, and didn't have that weird molding. I like the way the stock covers look
  16. i have a couple z cars in my basement for parts. I have everything I need sans fenders. plus I can paint everything myself
  17. I am thinking about picking this up from my uncle. I was wondering what the g-nose was worth, and also what kind of flares these are and what size/offset wheels/tires they could accommodate. If I sold the g-nose I would have to buy stock fenders, and appropriate flares to get on there as well G-nose stuff is fiberglass, don't know the origin but it's been on the car for 30+ years. I'm trying to decide if I can afford to pick up this car doing what I want to do to it and still have enough to put an e36 m3 motor in my e30 wagon
  18. juding by the ix not ix I assume e30, no? thrown off by the 10 speaker stereo though
  19. i've seen those wheels on quite a few z cars, what make are they
  20. i'm in buffalo, a little under 3 hours away. I have a 72 240z, needs to be towed home and sprayed, but it should run with new fluids, plugs, and a little assembly (radiator removed, was going to pull the motor to paint the engine bay). http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=136230 I have 2850 listed, but I would take 2500 for it
  21. what air dam is that? That may look good enough to make me keep my g nose
