  1. I wonder if he will lower the price after the auction ends? He has had 3 offers that he has declined. If he really wants or needs to sell the car, he is not even going to get close. He could be just showing the world "The most amazing 240Z". Here are the questions to the seller... good for a few laughs Q: Kenneth W. Dantley, Jr. would be proud. Oct-08-07A: thanks Q: Awesome car man. I had a question for you about the engine. I was going with the l28 turbo engine but i've ran into issues so what all would i need to go carburated with the turbo engine like the setup you have?? thanks Oct-06-07A: I am not positive of the crossover you would need. I went with Triple carbs because the car came originally with dual carbs and I was trying to stay within the same concept. Having said that I am very pleased with the performance but you really need to find an expert at triple carbs. The car who built most of the car did not do a good job on this one aspect, but once I found the right guy the car ran amazing. I also like the acceleration and lack of lag with carbs vs injection, plus triple carbs look cool. Q: Hello My name is Sjur and i`m restoring a 240z in Norway. I was wondering what the name of the colour is. Do you have a paint code or a name?? This was a very nice car and i liked your colour. From Sjur Oct-05-07A: the brand is PPG and their Candy series. The color is one of kind custom blended. I get a lot of great feedback because it looks different than some of the stock candy color cars. I would recommend you don't go custom because it makes it that harder to match. No matter what you do Candy colors are extremely difficult to paint and match (I use to paint cars for a living), so find an expert with lots of experience. Some newer cars use a multi-stage urethanes that tries to imitate Candy but the depth and gloss from Candy is superior, especially in sunlight. Q: It looks like the front airdam isn't correctly lined up with the fenders, is this just a mounting issue? What kind of headlights are those? Thanks. Oct-04-07A: airdam lines up great very pleased. The headlights are the MSA aftermarket for brightness, the center light has that diamond pattern. Q: Great work but the wheels have to go and get nice deep dish 0 offset. love the paint and level of attention. This car is semi riced out sorry. What you did to this z is like anyone else doing what they want with a v8. Just you added other items of distraction. Oct-04-07A: yeah, I know certinly not OEM...but I like it and the buzz I get from others makes me happyQ: Beautiful car!!! Is that the urethane or fiberglass spoiler on the front? Oct-04-07A: Urethane, it has held up very well. I scraped the paint on it going up a driveway so it had to be re-painted (bummer) but it might have cracked if it was fiberglass Q: It looks like the right fender and gas door are different colors? Is this a stock ZX engine with Webers? Thanks Oct-03-07A: Their is a shadow difference in color between the fender and gas door that you can see in certain light. Candy Color very difficult to match perfectly and I had them re-done due to some paint imperfections. The ZX is just the block everything inside was re-done with updated parts. I have detailed list of every receipt for serious buyers. I hope this answers your questions, all the best.
  2. If you do relocate inside, a sealed battery like a Optima is the way to go. Although they still "vent", it is not near as much as traditional battery.
  3. They are way off, but the oil pan matches! Jesus, I hope Pierre bought a nice boat with that money.
  4. I tried to look at the pictures, but they look like ass. If a was asking 45K for that car, I would get some photo skills and thow in a 432. I can only imagine all of the other defects, if they let that slide.
  5. Yea but, "The engine area: 280zx turbo block with P90 HEADS", balanced and micro polished, with aerospace coated headers. Triple Weber Carbs are perfectly tuned on a cannon manifold. Polished aluminum radiator (performance and looks), 280zx distributor with hot coil ignition, and the spark wires are longer and run round engine instead of over it (clean) * 280zx clutch, Aluminum Flywheel into a close ration 5 speed tranny with a short-throw shifter and 3.90 rear end. This car was setup for high acceleration off the line and it still has lots of torque at 125mph thanks to the 5 speed. Dyno tested at 160 torque to the rear wheels and estimated 225hp at the engine. * Car was lowered with T.M.G. springs over KYB Shocks. * Koenig Wheels 17" color matched with same Candy Red and custom aluminum spacers also painted. * All the glass was either replaced or polished including chrome trim and all rubber * I kept rear drum brakes and stayed with rubber suspension (instead of poly plastic). Pierre Perrot said the poly suspension was too stiff and I wanted retain the drums for looks and to also show that the car stops fine with drums.
  6. Wow! Z prices are really going up! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=006&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=160164078438&rd=1
  7. If you have some skills, I don't think you can wrong here. You can still beat him up, I bet? http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/405833991.html
  8. So , no headwork with DCOE 40's, I am just pissing in the wind? I just want a little "hang on" factor.
  9. There are loads of similar stories at http://www.carsinbarns.com/
  10. There alot of small things that people don't think about that will need to be done. Windshield wipers and cowl, AC /Heater fan motor, (spins different direction) Battery tray, ect. Lots of work & $$$ trying to find all those parts.
  11. Yeah, it is now Kinetic Sunbelt Engines on Holiday road in Buford. (The old Lazy Days Houseboat Factory) I know that 40's are small. I plan on going bigger down the road.
  12. I would say $500 , but the sunroof brings it down to $300, that is if the rust is not too bad.
  13. Not push it..... Can I get my original join date? I would make a contribuition to the site. 03/06/05 Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ArnZ
  14. I did read that thread. Braap knows his $#!* I don't know the man, and I don't know the people I talk to in person. I just want know who has what combo on the street now. Maybe there are too many varibles to ask this question and get the answer I want. I have done my homework and then some. I have scoured everything on the net. I am trying to to get a basic idea what combos are out there. If you have a sroker L , please divulge your components. I don't need a why and how. Tell me what you have please. Thanks, Arnie
  15. I know they have been discussed and discussed to death, with no defiinitive answers (that I know of). I really wanted a poll, if there are numbers out there with what head is with what block . Please enlighten me with the link. I am nobody, and know nobody. Thanks
  16. "extensive head work" didn't you mean expensive ?
  17. If it were feasible, there would be pictures galore! See "My official L31DETT RHD thread" http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=120659 for starters.
  18. I subsribe to other forums, but don't post and don't stay long. This site has class and brains behind it. I swear like a drunken sailor, it is nice to see that every other word is not profane, is truly professional. Too many numnuts (oops) have nothing to say but "F" this and "F" that. Save the swears til you meet in person. F*%$ an A!
  19. I originally joined on 3/6/05 as ArnZ. I changed my e-mail and wasn't active for some time (Lurked). E-mailed for lost password, no response, estabished current ID. Can I kill this ID and resume my ArnZ? Thanks, Arnie
  20. Who told you that? I would pretend that question wasn't asked.
  21. Ready to take everything to Sunbelt for my 3.1 machine work. I have a F54, N42 and a two N47 blocks, I have a late E88, N42, P90 and a N47 head. I have a LD28 crank, 9mm 240 rods. No pistons yet. Weber DCOE 40 18's. I plan on adding a streetable cam. I already have square, and round port headers with a good flowing exhaust. Down the road I plan having some mild head work done. This a steet only 75 Fairlady with AC. Wanted to see what combos are on the the street now. EVERYBODY has a different opinion on what route to go. F54/N42 ,N42/P90, F54/P90, N42/N42, etc. I thought that the F54 was THE block to use, now I hear the webbing may be a not as robust for a for a 3100, and the N42 is better. Also what is the most popular piston everyone is using? 240SX , PU or aftermarket? Thanks in advance. Arnie Very old picture of my car (10yrs?) minus all of the emblems that were stolen and put on a 200SX. The guy lived in my same apt. complex, IDIOT!
