  1. I knew I had seen that car before, those rivets and that plate steel on the frame rail. Throw some of that motivition my way! Did you guys ever just say F*** it? And think about trying to find another car?
  2. The amber is supposed to be only for the turn signals.
  3. Heres a few pics of the car and the P75 intake, it has a low VIN of 0001254.
  4. Well, I got the Fairlady today. The rust is bad, pans are gone battery tray is gone. Spare tire compartment is gone. Looks like a basket case. It does have a N42 head and block with a P75 intake. Anybody ever seen one of these?
  5. Post some pics, there are numerous variations out there. Lets see which one you have.
  6. The Haynes manuals are better than nothing, but the original factory manual is the way to go. There is one on e-Bay right now $20.00 or "buy it now" for $50.00 which isn't a bad price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-260Z-Service-Manual-1974_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34229QQihZ001QQitemZ110166169371QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  7. PowerGlide don't scare the man away with a $25K tag on getting the car to his satisfication. "Just be prepared for the loss when you sell it. Or fix it, drive it SPARINGLY and hold on to it for 15 years. You might break even".? Who is on this site restoring Z's thinking they are investesting in a high yield stock? I think with a $800 investment there is not going to be a concourse pursuit. If the frame rails are good (even if they are not) the car be resurrected to his standards. There is enough information on this site for a man with the will and a investment in some tools, the car can become whatever he wants. Jesus Christ, He has a perfect dash!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What else do you want for $800 ? Motivation not pessisism Flatline what do the frame rails and floor pans look like?
  8. Yea ! that dash is worth building a car around. Please don't look, I have a boner! The last NOS dash on E bay fetched Like $1600. Son, treat that car like a legal virgin! More interior shots!
  9. Are you saying it cost $4 grand to ship? I think I would wait for the bridge. ROVdriver, where in Norway are you? My mother is from Sandeford and lives in Texas, I am from Tejas but live in Atlanta . Please ask me for any parts you need from the US, profit free. Arnie ("Arne" my Grandfathers name)
  10. Which harness are you needing? I have complete, unmolested dash/interior (no engine) from a 73.
  11. That is what I needed, actually printed that entire site a few years ago and forgot about it. Thanks, Arnie
  12. Yea, I doubt this any NISMO tranny. One of the transmissions has NMCA #2 on the side. I don't recall seeing that on any of the others I have.
  13. I bought a 75 280Z with two extra transmissions. One is supposedly a "Close Ratio"? I really didn't think much of it at the time, but thought I would research a little to find out what it is. I also got a (supposedly) Q45 LSD or VLSD.
  14. I supposedly inherited a 5 speed close ratio tranny with a parts car purchase. Anybody know how to idenify? I know the color of the speedo cogs tell something, or do they?
  15. OK place your bets, what will it go to? being that "thanks i dont want to sell it [the 240Z], you know how it is. " That statement is worth $ 3 grand, when asked about the rare 5 speed tranny. I say $5500.00 .With his evasive answers I would be way leary without seeing the car in person.
  16. "thanks i dont want to sell it [the 240Z], you know how it is. - ezskmc" Yea, I read that and wondered WTF kinda answer is that? A real Space Cadet.
  17. Loosen the phillips screw and rotate the mirror with the driver in the car. Don't mount anywhere but where the diagram says to. I have seen a few cars where people had no clue where to mount them. Putting them close to the headlight bucket looks goofy and incorrect. You should be able to see everything you need to see in the factory specified location.
  18. I believe Nissan made the first one, P/N 9/6-E6001 "IMSA" spoiler. My Fairlady hade one installed at the dealership in Japan. I have one that was molded into the body and hatch, but could be used again with a little work. It's free for the asking.
  19. The last order I placed with him (reddat) he charged me $17.00 for a handfull of bolts. 3 & 1/2 weeks later no product and no response on when or how they shipped. Not good business, I panned on buying alot from him. It's really a shame because he has a lot good parts that I won't be buying. Shipping, "Not Specified"
  20. I was gonna e-mail him and say something, but why? Probably would say it was it is a special edition, and has the paperwork to prove it.
  21. Could be a interesting car http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330156979924&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:us
  22. Make sure you get a ship price! His shipping is a profit center! Very bad experience with him, I had to file a complaint with paypal. If posible I would buy original glass seals. I used a aftermarket that never fit right and caused a leak at the pillar. I'm sure there are some decent ones out there.
  23. Don't forget to clip those multi colored wire ties under the drivers door. Have you been to McDonalds yet? It's always fun to see the whole kitchen come out and the see the guy who " is on the wrong side of the car" . I've drove through backwards a couple times, thats good for little attention too. Great Car, good job!!!!!
  24. So there is a debate on F54 vs. N42 ? I thought that the F54 was superior? (for a stroker builds, is this a Hijack?)
  25. Sunbelt performance here in GA. Has one, I drive by their shop almost everyday. If I can assist you in anyway, let me know. Are you using a F54? I could maybe source a block here and save you shipping one way. Arnie
