  1. Great car...I miss mine! G35C nah, it's fatter and softer with annoying child seating in rear.
  2. Did you have any issues with the passenger seat belt?
  3. Sweet, thanks! I had been spending all week researching pointless distributor set ups only to find out yesterday I already had one....cool I guess.
  4. My car is a 1973 240z with 83 L28 motor. I bought the car already like this. The car works fine but I was looking into upgrading what I thought was a point distributor but where are the points? Any ways, I think it's wise that I learn what my car has installed before I try to make any mods. Thanks for your help!
  5. Found a 240z with "like new" rods and bushings at the junk yard, Ecology, in SD off the 905 East, both for 30 bucks. I installed the entire rod on the one missing the washer and nut. For anyone in SD CA looking to upgrade their front brakes, the 240Z had both front larger calipers and rotors, in very good condition.
  6. I will definitely check for this while the pan in out. Thanks for the heads up.
  7. By the way, can I use synthetic oil on these engines and is 50/20 thickness okay? I'm assuming 5 quarts is about right. Thanks!
  8. Ah great, let me know when I can come by and pick it up. PM me your info. You rock, Thanks!
  9. The back side of the bushing along with the washer and nut are missing. The rod is just sticking out. How much for your extra set, is it new? I'm in SD too, let me know. Thanks all for your help guys!
  10. Thanks! I'll follow your advice this weekend. Have a good one.
  11. My car: 1972 240z with 83 280zx motor + tranny, purchased last week. Anyways, I believe the cause of the oil drip are lose oil pan bolts. To get to the ones on the back, near the tranny, there is this thing that looks like some type of mount. I circled it below. There is an identical one on the other side. Can I take these off to get to the oil pan bolts being blocked by these? What is that thing anyways? THANKS!
  12. I decided to take a look at the suspension of my 1972 240z (with 83 motor, tranny and r200) which I purchased last week. I noticed the circled part was missing on the passenger's side. What is this part called? I'm thinking this is bad driving around with out this. Thanks!!
  13. I'm in the East Lake Chula Vista area and sure we should meet and talk about our cars. Just let me know. Is there a Z club here in SD? I'd love to join and learn more about these cars. I've been reading the FAQ section and wow, very, very helpful! This is a gem of a forum! I also purchased the following books from amazon yesterday: 1. How to Restore Your Datsun Z-Car (Paperback) 2. How to Modify Your Nissan/Datsun OHC Engine (Paperback) Thank u all!
  14. Thank you all! I'm looking forward to sharing experiences with all of you. As a little history, I have owned a 1979 280ZX, 300zx Z32 NA, and a 350z. I tell ya, I was just as excited driving the 240z home as I was when I got my 350z (sold now). This car needs a little bit of everything. It is hard to gauge where to start. I was thinking suspension. I'm not very mechanically inclined but I can struggle through most challenges and I have other family members that can help. The car handles and feels alright but I do notice some play. I also want to reduce body roll and lower the car a little in preparation for fender flares with wider wheels in the future. Is there a kit that comes with all the bushings and rubber suspension parts? After replacing the bushings what strut & spring combination do you guys recommend for street (and maybe some light track) use? Thanks again!
  15. I finally was able to purchased a 1972 240z with the following specs!: - The motor is from a 1983 280zx, rebuilt with less then 3k on it - P-90 turbo head decked and re-worked - A performance cam to match - Rebuilt dual carburetors - New HD radiator with electric fan - Performance Header and all new exhaust - 5 speed transmission - New clutch - R-200 rear - Nissan Motor Sports brake upgrade with Drilled & Slotted brake rotors and stainless steel break lines - New brake power booster - 1972 Factory aluminum wheels with new tires The best part about this car is the motor. It feels really strong. It needs alot of interior and body work, like the dash and headliner. The suspension could also use some tightening up. I wanted a project car and I think I got one:) Overall, I feel happy with the purchase but also feel that there is a whole lot of work ahead. Let the fun begin! Question: Does anyone have any idea of the HP a set up like this produces? Sorry, I'm a total 240z/280z noob. Pictures: My 240 z Pic 1 My 240 z Pic 2 My 240 z Pic 3 My 240 z Pic 4
