  1. I'm just collecting the parts right now and prepping them. I just pruchased the N42 intake Non-EGR and 60mm 240sx TB, for example. The fuel rail and injectors are next. The fuel rails from pallnet have a couple of options and I just needed help as to which is a good fit for the power goal I have in mind. 6N/8N, 11mm, 14mm, etc. I want to have ALL the parts ready to go before I begin install. This includes the Megasquirt and the fuel pumps for the surge tank I'll be using. I've pretty much collected a binder of over 200pages of info from here and other sites..makes for great bathroom reading..hehe. Thanks
  2. I've read so many threads and the rails/injector combo seem to be quiet varied. I'm looking to make 350-420hp on a 72 240z with an L28 n/a engine with worked p90a head and cam. I'll be using holset turbo, Megasquirt, inter cooler...etc. I want to keep it as simple as possible without modifying the N42 injector holes. I want to use injectors that just pop right in and that are freely available and fairly economical, recommendations? Also, which Pallnet rail can meet those goals? 11mm or the 14mm? 6/8/10N? O-ring or Barb styles? Will I need any other holes made on the rail aside from the fuel pressure gauge hole? This is going to be my first turbo build ever so I'm, for the most part, getting educated here as I go. Thank you guys!
  3. I ended up creating my own "perl" white color. I used three gloss white qts and one almond qt. I have not painted anything yet but I like the off white effect when I look at it in the container. I'm not looking for perfection since this is mostly my screw around fun car but I will certainly post before and after pictures here when I get around to doing the body work. I'll be spraying by the way.
  4. Thanks for the detailed points you make strotter. I may just try this when I get to this stage but I'll make sure to also have the low pressure electric pump handy.
  5. Well, so far I have rebuilt the entire suspension with Eibach springs and the Tokico blue struts. I also did the rear disc conversion and replaced all the front and rear bushings. Replaced the master and slave clutch cylinders too. I'm collecting parts to go turbo now. The adventure continues......
  6. I currently have SUs on my L28/240z. I'm planning on turboing in the near future. Is is possible to use the mechanical fuel pump currently running the SUs as the low pressure pump? I was hoping I could to save some cash and it's also brand new. Thanks guys!
  7. I guess by now we all know the released numbers were more than true. I wonder how other car makers are going to adjust this performance for price deal. The upcoming 2010 V-Spec GTR is doing 7.25 lap times at Nürburgring: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/08/nissan-gt-r-v-spec-lap-times-stun-observers/ I had a chance to see the GTR in person this past weekend at the Stillen Nissan day. It looks like a MEAN machine to me, way nicer in person. We were allowed to sit in it and I did wet my pants a little. Anyways, brand fan boys are sure struggling accepting what a bad ass car this is. You gotta love it. Here's the story behind the highly debated lap times: http://www.drivers-republic.com/news/news_article_14_05_08.cfm Adding more fuel to the fire: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/hot_lists/high_performance/japanese_performance/competitors_in_the_crosshairs_2009_nissan_gt_r_feature/(page)/1 Alex
  8. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! I would defintely pick one up if ever made. The creator should send this to Nissan!!
  9. Thanks:) Looking forward to doing my 240z with gloss white mixed with almond...gong for the pearl white Z32TT look, I hope. Your paint job looks great by the way! Alex
  10. I'm in the same boat right now, except it's both front struts. Ah the good times!

    Girly man!

Well, the translation is not really a translation which makes that much more hilarious but yeah, I 've already started biting some of those moves preparing for the next wedding event. lol

  13. Okay, I left the spacer washer off and one side was fine but the driver rear side still looks like if it had the washer spacer (but it doesn't). Should I take an 1/8th or so off the tube spacer that goes at the bottom of the strut? Or is it normal for this side to be slightly higher than the passenger rear due to the weight of the driver? Any ideas? I did measure both strut inserts and they are both exactly the same height and both included the tube spacer at the bottom. Tokico HP 3516 rear 3515 front
  14. Thanks for your input. I'll leave it off. edit: I could of sworn I saw that other link on this the other day...my big fat head.
  15. Should I use the washer or no? Here are pics of the flange nut spacing with and without the washer. I am using the HP3516s for the rear. Doing install this weekend along with Eibach Pro Kit springs. 1972 240z Thank you all!
  16. This is going to be my next project in white gloss professional. I will mix it with 20% Mineral Spirits. I'm also thinking of using their Rusty Metal Primer. Any one here try to use that primer?
  17. I have my rear suspension with disc brake kit from Motorports just waiting until I get Tokico struts and springs. I decided to make them look pretty. I thought of using just regular spray cans but noooooooooooo had to experiment with Rustoleum since a quart is only about 8 bucks at Lowes and I can probably do the front and back with a quart of each color and have paint left over. I also used a 10 dollar gravity touch up spray gun (from Harborfreight) at about 45 psi. I have absolutely no experience painting but reading all those Rustoleum threads gave me a crash course:) I just basically cleaned and sanded everything I could (500 grid). I used brake cleaner for the caliper and used a fine brush (about 2 bucks at a hobby store) to paint it. I gave the caliper 4 coats of red through the course of the day. The reason I used a brush was basically curiosity. Rustoleum settles pretty well and you can't see any brush streaks at all. For the rear control arm and knuckle I decided to use the spray gun. It's way more fun and faster (and messier). I used 15% mineral spirits on both the red and gray. I still have the other side to do and I will use the spray gun since the neighbors didn't complain about the noise and smell. I think it looks pretty good, certainly better than before!
  18. I Put some MT90 and I get grinds from 2 to 3rd and reverse. I may just need a new tranny since the clutch was recently replaced. I should proabably check the slave cylinder before going crazy and buying stuff.
  19. You maybe be right. I double checked this and it does appear to come somewhere else rather than the oil pan. Ergh! To replace the rear main seal, you have take off the tranny right?
  20. I just put about 2 quarts of the 75-90 red line on mine...it did seem a bit thin. I'm going back and getting the MT-90 instead.
  21. I actually bought a really nice set of 78 280zx door panels thinking they will fit my 1972 240z doors but the hole for the door lock is shifted more towards the front than the 240zs. Ebay time! lol
