  1. from my understang the auto 280zx comes with r180. if it came with r200 i may decide to pay it. seems kind of a waste to pay 750 and only get a motor(wich needs a turbo rebuild.) and cv's
  2. no camera buddy borrowed it. i thought they were choke but why would a pessenger need one? is a circular shape pull type latch. i tried to follow it but it goes under the dash. does it open the heater vents?
  3. its a 74 260z i bought a shell so i dont know where it links up. door latch? whats that? and its not for the trottle i dont think. its two long lines about maybe 3 feet?
  4. im in the market for one now but cant seem to find one. after searching people seems to find them for cheap around 200-300 but i cant even find any. my question is how much should an engine be worth-stock no rebuild with let say anywhere around 150k miles no problems. just an average engine. and lastly im looking at a 82 280zx turbo with manual transmission. 240k miles and i gues the turbo is going out. car is in ok condition. trany is good. is it worth $750?
  5. okay so i cant figure out what the two hood latch looking thing are for. ones on the passenger ones on the driver side. looks like hood latch. 2nd question is in the engine bay theres this two things that im guesing connects to the two up top? looks like two bicycle brake cables lol thanks
  6. ^^ agreed they work i have used it in both ct26 set up and 57 trim. BUT the catch is they are not very efficient/very restrictive. why use that when ebay intercoolers are very cheap. i have made a swap from stock to cheap ebay IC on my supra and the gains are VERY notisable. but that was on a 7m though. why not spend a few more bucks and get an ebay ic that flows/cools much better? just my opinion.
  7. well the 02 sensors will be since its mounted there stock. but all over supraforums and supramania people have mounted the wideband at the bottom. close to the test pipe. but iether way its up to the owner i personally run it that close but after reading that it would roast the sensor i decided to move it back. better safe than sorry.

  9. hi my goal 400whp engine: 7mgte use: street driving and a little back road drag racing. after alot of reading and thinking i decided that the best and budget allowed way to solve my problem is just adding a surge tank in my 74 260z. my set up will be based on this http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=122978&highlight=surge+tank i want to double check this. --with this set up i wont need any modification on the tank right? --can i use any carb filter for the feeder pump? any cheap ones out there? --and second ive read that the stock z pump will be enough to feed the high pressure pump. is there other cheap fuel pump that can be used as a feeder? i dont want to use my super old pump. --i will be using a walbro inline fuel pump as my high pressure. --any body used a stock supra fuel filter? i have had supra thats rated around 450whp and used the STOCK filter and never had any problem. but supras are in tank pump. would it matter if it in line?
  10. isnt your wideband a little to close to the turbo? it would get need to be replace much sooner at that location right?
  11. actually i do not think that 7m is the "best" engine by any means or even in close to it. i would MUCH rather have 2jz or ls1 and so on. however for the price i do believe that it is hard to beat. i mean how many engine out there can hit 500hp on stock internals?(assuming a HG is change ofcource.) i mean i have Personally ran 390whp on stock block with the only mod on the internal is the MHG. thats on an engine with 100k miles. (thats on a 57 trim/modded stock turbo.) however I will agree for the price will vary. so if you plan to get these ONLINE or EBAY and your getting them at REGULAR price then i would add a few more bills and get a 1j. i personally would never pay over 500 for a stock 7m engine. i would lurk on supramania or supraforums for a deal b/c theres always something good. just last week a FULL 89 supra turbo 5-speed was forsale for ONLY $800. anyways clifton i am curious in what other engines out there thats in low price range and capable of 450whp. im always down to try new engine thats in a low budget.
  12. i would argue against that comment. as 7m main flaw is the factory torq of the head is to low. and a metal HG with arp would fix the problem. ASSUMING your head AND block was machined right. ive have 5 supras before 2 stock turbo. 1 60-1 trim. 1 57 trim and 1 a t78. after a heagasket job. not even a t78 at 20 psi blew the hg. thats on pump gas then i switch back to 18 b/c of det. to run on my daily driver for about 20k miles. then sold the car. anyways if your really interested in the 7m read up on it at supramania or supraforums.

  14. oh okay lol i was searching for 240z/260z fuel pump lol. im surprice to hear that the stock feed/return lines could support that amount of whp. but thats good to hear and a surge tank will solve that "baffled" problem right? i cant find those 75-76 fuel tank. i was thinking on making one like this http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=122978&highlight=surge+tank what would you guys recomend using as the feeder fump? and what filter do you guys run?

I been a "supra guy" for about 4 years now and know alot about the 7mgte modding. from basic to too much lol.(87-92 supra/mk3) anyways not to long ago i found out about the Z and was trilled that i could fit a 7m wich i love and wieght atleast 1000lbs less. so i hop on the boat and found a 74 260z project. it was basically a shell. so heres my problem. i know nothing about these cars. i want to upgrade the fuel pump to support 400whp after researching i couldnt find what i need. 1. based on what ive read a inline walbro gsl392 or 255 lph pump would support 400whp.? who sells a kit? i tried ebay but all they have is stock. 2. what other upgrade will i need/will stock lines hold? 3. from my understanding the fuel pump is outside instead of an intank like the supra. so will i need to do anything to the tank? overall i guess im just really asking what do i need to to do/upgrade to support 400whp. this will be used for street driving so drag racing here and there BUT NOTHING extreme. ps. i know the bits and pieces on the fuel need on the motor i just need to know about the tank/pump part. any help would be great thank you
