  1. i was aware of that aswell as from my understanding the chassis of the 260z is a bit more rigid than the 240z.
  2. i was aware of that but i thought that the other z was only available outside of US. if thats not the case then i how can i tell if its an early 260z? i mean from looks of it, it looks just like a 240z. but i could be wrong. i pushed it the other day without an engine and it feels light. BUT then again i use to push supra by myself and that was a 3600lbs (targa top) even if its 2700 it would feel light lol
  3. ive been looking for this info for a while. from what i can gather a 74 260z added weight comes from the bumpers only.(compare to 240z) but i took both bumpers off and those bumpers doesnt weight that much. ive search but what else adds weight?(what else have they add that wasnt on the 240z?)

  5. well simply put being turbo block the pistons are better equip for boost that i want to run. as i dont plan on rebuilding the first block that i put on the car. i want to see first if i like how the engine responce.
  6. well with the ffim though it would also upgrade the throttle body and make it less of a piping. with my old set up it felt quicker than stock. but that was with bigger throttle body and such so yea
  7. well im really trying yo get a turbo block b/c i want to be running 350-400whp on these with MS. and what do the turbo oil pan and throttle body looks like compare to n/a?
  8. well this is going in my other 240z so i will be upgrading to a diff turbo. i have seen people swap the valve cover and say its turbo block so i wanted to know so when i get there to check out the car i would know what to look for.
  9. ^^ ya dude i search for like the whole day yesterday. and thats all the info i got. f54 block and p90 or p90a(if 83) head. BUT the info im looking for that i cant find is WHAT if its an N/A F54 block? how could i tell thats its a turbo or n/a F54?
  10. ive been looking for this info and can find it. all i found is technical info diff. i will be buying a 280zx and the owner said the turbo was remove and run it n/a BUT the block is turbo. how do i check if its turbo block/pistons(from the outside) without ofcource tearing it down. and how do i know its not a plain l28? doesnt make sence to me as to why the owner would take out the turbo and run it like that. doesnt that mean an n/a ecu must be used? and the valve covers are interchangeable right so i cant just based it on the turbo logo? i guess this is the second engine.
  11. huh you dont need to machine the head/block for a hg install? just clean up?
  12. ARZ i was looking at your build and was curious after all that mods why didnt you go front facing intake manifold? it would eliminate alof of that piping from the ic to intake manifold. plus i believe it flows a bit better than stock.
  13. even at 23 on pump thats risky without meth injection or something. and ya it was when i was setting up my apex avcr for some reason i set it at 18 psi and spike to 26. it was on 100 octain pump. i did about two pulls since at first i was like "must be reading wrong" lol so when i punch it again and i looked on my gauge and it read about 26 psi. off topic question how reliable would the l28et be at 400whp? as im only aiming at 400whp for now and if the l28et can reach 400whp at lower than 18psi of boost i may change my mind and go l28 instead on 7m. ive been looking info of the bw t5 tran vs 280zx 5-speed and was curious whats the max trq they can handle? i cant seem to find that info on the forums.
  14. dang his running high @ss boost its no wonder he would run into some problem with this motor. shoot i was talking about 17-20 psi here with pump gas. but above 20 on pump gas that a risk of detonation. i have hit 26psi before on my old setup and that sh!t felt crazy but i was too afraid to blow my motor. i do understand that a good tune is what will keep the HG alive but what are you guys running to run high boost on pump gas? meth inj?
  15. how much longer is the ds that comes from a manual/t5 280zx? or is it the same length?
  16. cz its always fun to have more torq. not car related but i prefer riding my rc51 over other litter bikes b/c of the trq factor. its just more fun. and thats on a 500lbs and still people complain about not having enough trq.
  17. how are you setting up the turbo manifold? and what tranny will you be using?
  18. i didnt want to go v8 b/c of the fact that i would pay to much for a turbo kit. wouldnt you need twins? or will you be making a custom manifold yourself? ^^ plus an ls1 is to much of a price for the power that you get.
  19. c'mon now that would be unfair comparison b/c 1. you seem to get a good as deal for those engine lol at that price if i can get one i would rather get that lol. so i take it for 150 that comes with a tranny? ^^ if so dam dude hook it up lol and i dont know much info about that engine but how long will that engine last stock everything at 600 rwhp? on pump gas? detonation? and what turbo will flow at 600whp for $500? how about turbo manifold?injectors?regulators?IC? piping?bov?etc. im sure that would add up way more than $550. and since its v8 i would guess youll need twins wich means double parts=double cost. i dont know about you but my welding skills is not capable of doing a custom manifold just as im sure ALOT of people are not that good iether. again im talking about what PEOPLE would normally pay for. im NOT talking about what some people with hook up can get them b/c not everybody have one. so i dont know about your price at 1500. that may just be YOUR price b/c of your connection. i could be wrong if so please point me where i can get all those parts that cheap b/c simple if everybody can get 600RWHP ar 1500 dont you think they would have gone that route? sh!t thats cheaper than a l28et swap at that level lol
  20. i recal reading the driveline thread saying that the auto came with r180 but i guess i was wrong. and right now theres this guy selling an engine for 250 but its "unknown" wich i dont really want to take risk at since "unknown could mean bolt on but more likely in bad shape. and 200 for a whole car thats a steal. i guess ill wait around for that deal since i really want to get a an engine w/ bw t5 to go along. and out of topic. i was searching and seem to run into double answer. if i were to swap a l28et with bw t5 to a 260z with r200 will a driveshaft from 280zx make it a bolt or will i need to get the ds shorten still?
